Don't hug me I'm scared Neighbor across installed a camera on their railing pointed directly at my bedroom window

I have a same-ish camera for my home and the resolution is not great. It has a movement sensor so it can send an alert in case of robbery but otherwise I doubt that guy can see anything with that

This being said it's obviously mildly infuriating. Idk how it works in your country but you probably can call the police

I have a 4k camera that looks exactly like this and its very detailed and has night vision. If it's the same as mine, it can see everything and zoom in with good resolution. Really depends on brand. Hard to tell though since a lot of these types of cameras look very alike

Yep, I don't have 4k but I have 3 very similar (tapo) around my house and the picture is perfect. At night and at day and you can zoom in really well.

Pretty creepy, Id buy camera and put it outside my window staring directly at him.

A (modern) camera works by focusing light onto a sensor.

If the sensor is capable of capturing light in 4k, it‘s referred to as a 4k sensor.

As another person has explained, digital cameras have a lens and the light reaches out an electronic sensor. The resolution of this sensor determines the maximum hw resolution of the images. These sensors normally are ccd or cmos. Tapo uses cmos, and most of these types of cameras do.

When ppl say "point a laser to it" they refer to the damage the laser does to the sensor ñ.

This was my exact response also. I know that camera and it's a deterrent at best for break and enters, definitely cannot see much else. but annoying none the less I get it.

I was gonna say the same haha. They're very wide angle, not made to zoom in much. I understand OP not wanting it pointed right at their window, but I'd bet whoever put it there didnt do it maliciously. Its probably just a security cam.

Its pointing straight across, not up. If it was pointed up then the lens would be centered, but its slightly down from OPs angle. It looks more like they just plugged it in and haven't bothered moving it yet so its at the default angle.
