Photo Paris on the Mamiya 7ii. Still regret selling this camera.
A few black and white shots from Paris on my old Mamiya 7ii. God, I miss that camera.
I’ve owned a lot of cameras over the years, and most of them I can talk myself out of missing. Too heavy. Too fussy. Too slow. Too expensive to keep around. Whatever excuse makes the sale feel smart at the time.
The Mamiya 7ii is harder to rationalize.
It was light enough to actually carry all day, sharp enough to make you feel like you were cheating, and deadly quiet in that perfect rangefinder way where you could disappear a little bit. Which is pretty much all I want from a street/travel camera.
These were from a trip to Paris a few years back. Nothing too planned. Just walking around, drinking too much coffee, pretending I wasn’t taking the same photos everybody takes in Paris, and then occasionally getting lucky.
Anyway. Posting these mostly because I miss walking around with that camera. And because every once in a while I look at old Mamiya 7ii files and think, “Yeah, selling that was stupid.”
