How ethical is it to wear makeup as a dude for the sole purpose of hiding facial flaws to get a girlfriend?

Would it be a red flag if I was caught wearing concealer to hide my eye bags and asking women out? What would a future girlfriend think?

How to apply mascara on the bottom eyelashes?

Hello, nice people,

I am an aspiring crossdresser, and I would love your help with bottom lash mascara, please.

I think I have very pretty upper lashes. I manage to curl them nicely and apply mascara well. Even though I have a lash comb, I don't always manage to comb them through, but overall I'm happy with the results.

My issue is with my bottom lashes. I think mine are very short, and I really struggle with applying mascara there. When I apply it, a lot of product gets on my skin, between the lashes, etc. I use a Q-tip to clean the product off my skin, but sometimes it ends up giving me a gothic look. 😆

Do you have any tips, please, on how to improve this?

I use Maybelline Sky High Waterproof. I like it because the wand is thin and helps me reach deeper.

I also have one from Douglas with a thick wand, but I like that one less.

I'm also adding pictures here to show what it looks like.

Thank you so much to everyone who helps!! 💕💝🌸

concealer keeps “falling” off!

hi, pics for demonstration. i have quite a large or protruding eye bag/lower eyelid, and i often notice that after a few hours my concealer literally “falls” off the eye bag, rendering my lower eyelid completely rid of concealer. my dark circles are very dark and very difficult to conceal, so i’m still experimenting with different methods, but even then at least a little bit of concealer stays on the circles. none stays on my lower eyelid!

PRODUCTS: in the photo, i’ve use revolution color corrector, followed by loose powder (i usually skip this step), then tarte shape tape concealer, then huda beauty loose powder. everything was blended onto my lower eyelid as well. any advice would be appreciated!

image 1: area highlighted;
image 2: normal eye level, pulling skin down a little to show where it becomes dark brown aka disappears;
image 3: better view of my lower eyelid with the concealer disappeared.

nose contour product recommendations

I have recently starting contouring my nose with a random palette I found that's my mom's. However, I don't know if the color suits me and if I should find a product that actually suits with my skin color.

I was wondering what contour product and color would suit me?

Would a more grey or a brown color suit me? Should I go got a sun-kissed (brown) look or a more sculpted (grey) look?

I was looking at the sephora collection with the fair to light contour stick, but I don't know if that's the best color for me.

Thank you!

Lipstick advice

Post image

So I think I’m fairly decent at applying makeup but lipstick and lipliner has always been a tough one for me. I always seem to line it nicely with my actual lips but once I put lipstick on, it just smears all over the place…. Am I doing something wrong? Also, I don’t need any comments about my blemishes or mustache. Yes I know I have one. Thanks!

Water based cushion or routin recommendations!

I currently use BOJ Aqau Fresh SPF. It's so humid where I live and using water based products have helped a lot! I just bought the HERA reflection skin glow cushion and absolutely love it, but I believe it is silicone based. It causes pilling when I use it with my spf.

Is there a different water based cushion I should try? I love the dewy look and need something hydrating but not heavy. I like the light, natural look, as well.

Or should I try a different layering method? Maybe wait longer after spf, or should I put some kind of primer on over the spf?

Can anything be done about excessive sweating with makeup?

Post image

This was my upper lip last night after wearing my makeup for about 5 hours, though this honestly happened after only 1 hour 😭 I take medications which I think cause me to sweat excessively and it's so embarrassing all the time but especially when wearing makeup. I'm getting married in September and planned to do my own makeup but I really cannot figure out a solution for this and I'm so discouraged. At this point I would consider hiring a professional but I fear the same thing will happen anyway, and I have a tight budget and probably not many options given the timeline anymore.

What I did/used:

Skin prep: washed face in the shower with vanicream facial cleanser and shaved my upper lip, then mehron hydro prep afterwards (thought it might help with cakiness which I also struggle with), then mehron skin prep pro

Makeup: Maybelline 24 hr skin tint, Milani make it last spray after liquid/cream products, then mehron barrier spray at the very end. I realized that I forgot to powder my whole face in the areas I didn't use powder blush/bronzer, so I didn't powder my upper lip, but this still happens when I do. This was my first time using mehron products and I had such high hopes given they're meant for theater makeup 😞

Any guidance, suggestions, or recommendations would be so appreciated. Thank you 💕

Why is my smile line so pronounced? I feel like it’s ruining my makeup. Is there any way to avoid this or any cosmetic procedure?

HELLO GIRLIIIIES 🎀🎀 , i don't know who this is going to reach so am writing in english in hopes of reaching the most girls i can , so am 24 and never wore makeup and am trying to learn but it's HAAARD 😭😭 and i just want someone to dumb down the order for me , like what's the diffrence between primer , cc / bb cream , foundation ( can i use only one and if not which one goes first ) , what is a bronzer and is it a must ?? I tried learning with hard eyliner ( it doesn't move when i try to brush it to get a form , i hope u get what i mean 😭) and the liquid one the brush keeps bending the the color only comes from the sides not the tip and when i see them saying just color under the eye in the water line i can't do it like i would go over it so many times but i get nothing and end up looking like a racoon , and finally what should i buy to practice ( i have lipsticks , lip liner ,eye liner , concelear , eyeshadow and some blush) i tried looking on youtube but most women are white and the colors they use don't even show on my skin so yeah thank you all in advance ❤️❤️ ( feel free to respond in english , french or arabic so you can explain most comfortably )

What product to use for the complete glitter eye look

I see eye makeup where its not your regular eyeshadow palettes, no double shade etc- just plain shimmer, eyes are completely only glittery. Is there any product like some stick to use - i have seen people do it in green, purple or goldish glow.

F25 I wear very minimal makeup , but I am wanting to start implementing eyeshadow into my makeup routine mainly just for special occasions. I did this look recently for a birthday party and I feel like it looks pretty good for my first try at eyeshadow. I kept it pretty neutral and light because I was scared lol . I would love to hear some tips and / or recommendations on what colors may look good on me! I believe I have hooded eyelids and almond shape eyes.

What do you use/would you recommend to thin down your foundation?

I've seen ppl recommend using toners, moisturizers, and even getting a dedicated foundation base thinner, but I've also seen others comment about some of those mixers being incompatible with foundation.

So I guess I'm looking for more information about how to do this in general? And what products you'd rec? TIA!

i need help with waterline eyeliner!

the current eyeliner i’ve been using (or attempting to use) is the elf no budge retractable eyeliner.

i’ve been trying to wear waterline eyeliner using it, but i can’t get it to actually draw anything on my waterline or even my lash line. i’ve tried using a q-tip to gently dry the waterline beforehand but no luck. when i use the eyeliner on my hand as a test, it works perfectly fine and is very pigmented.

does anyone have any tips or maybe other eyeliner recommendations?

What, or how many, cosmetics do you carry in your purse/bag?

I'm a MTF trans and don't have much experience with makeup, but I've been practicing.

I was wondering though, since I know makeup needs touch-ups during the day, what items do all of you carry around with you in your bag?

EDIT: Thanks for the replies! I'm still working on myself and any suggestions/recommendations are helpful!

I just started to wear makeup a few months ago. All I use is Elf tone adjusting face primer and Elf halo glow liquid filter. I need to know:
1. Is the color of my foundation the right shade for my skin-color?
2. I have pretty bad rosacea. How can I mitigate this?

I just got these in the mail today and I’m feeling very overwhelmed. What order do I use these in, or would I only use 1 of these 3 as a foundation? Thank you all in advance.

Not sure how well you can see but my Benetint seems to have separated and the pigment is settling at the bottom

Is this normal or is it time to buy a new one? How long do they normally last?

Beginner struggle: brushes or sponges for liquid products?

I’m a total beginner and feeling lost with my tools. Brushes leave me with streaks, and my sponge just drinks up all my liquid foundation and skin tint.

How do you guys get a smooth finish without wasting product? Is there a secret trick I'm missing, or do you have a go-to tool for liquids that you swear by?
