July Weekends in Jacksonville

I’m trying hard to be the activities director for my boyfriend and I. We are in our early sixties and have been failing to plan our weekends ahead of time which has led to our failing in spending some quality time together outside of the house. He works from home and I am a student again. The only barrier we have is that my knees are trashed so walking really far or climbing are off the list of possibilities. What do other couples our age do for a day trip or afternoon? My mom is an active 88 year old and I have a hard time finding things to do with her too. I moved back to Jacksonville 5 years ago and need to find some places to visit, hang out or try something new. Thanks!

What’s it like living in this area?

Husband and I are considering moving to Jacksonville and the places that I’m liking seem to be here in this area. We are from Utah which I know means we are sheltered to an extent lol. Is it scary or ghetto here? We have a baby so I wanna be somewhere safe. We also have indoor/outdoor cats. Do people let their cats out? Dude I have no idea lol never lived somewhere with gators 😂

Edit: I know that’s a very big area. I’m talking specifically where the hearted places are!

Jacksonville's Most Accommodating Dentist?

My partner hasn't been to the dentist in a very long time due to an intense phobia and significant autistic sensory issues, so we're looking for someone who will be reliably nonjudgmental, gentle, and patient. (If they practice sedation dentistry, even for a routine cleaning, that would be incredible.)

Any leads would be super appreciated! Thank you!

Food app users — what’s one thing that drives you nuts about ordering food online? Delivery fees? No rewards for being a loyal customer? Reordering hustle?

Genuinely curious what people would fix (form link at the top for anyone who wants to add more)

Looking at Apartments?

Check out this review of The Strand on Google Maps

I'm happier in our new place. That review has pictures to give you a fuller picture of what this apartment building does not want you to see in downtown Jax. If this isn't allowed (a link) sorry. I wish tenants weren't afraid to post reality.

How many people did you meet before you found the right roommate in Jacksonville?

I didn't expect finding a roommate to take longer than finding a place, but that's how it's been for me. I've talked to a few people already, and while everyone seemed nice, something always felt like it wouldn't work long term. I'm checking rooms for rent every day, but I'm trying not to rush into living with someone just because the price is good. I'd rather spend another week looking than regret it after moving in.

So - when you wanted to find roommate in Jacksonville, how many people did you meet before things made sense? Not just financially but on a "vibes" basis. What made you feel comfortable saying yes?
