.... not exactly though...same with the 'caine... those are processed and don't exist without the help of humans...ya like what ya like though, no judgment if that's your thing
Alcohol is a natural byproduct of fermentation. Humans did not invent fermentation, that's been a thing for hundreds of millions of years before hominids ever existed
And then that byproduct was capitalized on by man. We exonerate and push a product we know to be extremely harmful to our overall health and it's incredibly addictive. Those who become addicted are treated like trash rather than helped.
Deuteronomy 29:18 warns against a "root that produces such bitter poison".
I'm not Christian, I just think it's fun to see if I can find something in the bible that can support any supposition. While it is a metaphorical use, it at least proves the point that people shouldn't go around harvesting poisonous roots.
joking aside I just think they had a lot to learn about the natural world, and I think spirituality is complimentary to the natural world...
but of course, people may always take it too far or misunderstand the point entirely.
personally, when i try to condense it as much as possible into as few words as possible, my belief is: "god" was the vehicle for "good"
there really are altruistic and agapic people out there that wanted the idea of civilization to thrive, but they had to resort to a lot of different ways to get the point across and it still to this day gets twisted and manipulated by the very-much-not altruistic and agapic people
we still have a lot to learn from plant medicine and entheogens and how the pieces of the puzzle all fit together, including our history
You can stretch it pretty far. You can say that everything was made by God so everything you produce was a gift from God. Including guns or chemical weapons. /a
Pretty sure God isn't responsible for disease and things that harm the human body, mind, and spirit. Case and point, those things dont exist in heaven.
How did anything I say lead to the belief of a "second creator" There's one Creator. There's also a spirit that is responsible for all evil, and terrible things within the earthly realm. There was never any indication of sickness or illness before humanity had fallen due to the hands of Adam and Eve. God is able to hold such things back as His grace and mercy wills it. The murder of the Passover was a direct punishment from God for the continued stiffnecked nature from the Pharoah not issuing the Lords commands. The Lord had held it back and given him numerous chances to free God's people. He is merciful, loving, and forgiving...assuming His commands are followed.
There was no evil, disease or death in humanity before the fall of Adam and Eve. Only then would terrible things befall us after being tempted by Satan, the deceiver, the enemy. He's the one responsible for the horrendous things of this world. Not our God.
You said that god doesn’t create things that hurt humans. Well, if god didn’t create things that are bad for humans, how were they created without a creator? So, by your own logic, either god created everything, including bad things, or, there is a second creator. You literally cannot have it both ways.
If Satan created the bad things that hurt humans, Satan has the power to create.
Then, you are justifying killing a group of people for the actions of a other person that isn’t killed…
Gos god was angry with pharaoh and instead of punishing him, murdered children. Then you call that divine punishment….
What can a newborn do to deserve that?
Solely based on your comment just now, your god is pure evil.
And, besides rebelling against god, name one single evil act that Satan did. He never killed a single person. He never caused a plague. The Bible even says that Satan isn’t allowed to touch humans. The story of tortured job whose family was murdered….god did all that to Job, not Satan. Why did god do it? To prove to Satan that he could tortured his followers and they would still praise his name.
God said to Satan: “hold my beer while I fuck up this man’s life and watch him still kiss my ass because he is too dumb to realize that I am toying with him to prove a point.”
You literally said your fod killed children and yet you refuse to call him evil. So, I ask of you:
Do you even think it is evil to kill innocent children? Just a simple yes or no answer.
Also, don’t imply that your god is my god. Unlike you, I hate child murderers.
Humans are evil, Satan is evil. God is pure and just. The things that happened to Job were actually asked to occur through Satan directly to God's face. Yet God knowing the end from the beginning, knew that Job would remain faithful and a powerful testimony to the Lord. God doesn't kill, He renews.
I also hate child murderers, child sacrifice has always been a work of the devil.
But you're taking all this out of context. There's a reason the Bible has a New and an Old Testament. Humans can be redeemed and made whole through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. This shows His deep love for His creations and willingness to want to be with all of them for eternity. If we profess the name of Christ and trust that He is our savior and died for our sins.
Children are also pure in the eyes of the Lord. Any child that died during those days would've been immediately ascended into heaven with the Lord.
I am commanded to not cast pearls before swine. You are blatantly blaspheming the name of the Lord. I hope that you do find Christ one day and He offers you omission from your sins though this is clearly unfruitful as you are cherry picking Scripture without fully acknowledging the abandonment and rebellious nature of human beings. All of our suffering is caused from our wicked hearts and rebellion. Through trust in the Lord. No matter the circumstances, no matter the trials and tribulations, we still have freedom and joy through our love for Christ. As even in death, we will be freed to an eternity with our loving Father.
Good day, and may God bless you if it's in His will.
