Meine Uni hat da leider keinen Zugang.

I am looking for accommodation in Ingolstadt as I will be arriving in mid-September and my Master's programme starts on 1 October.

I am looking for a private room (approximately 14–25 m²) with a monthly budget of €300–450 (including utilities).

The accommodation must allow city registration (Anmeldung).

I am already searching on WG-Gesucht and for student dormitories, but if anyone knows of any available rooms or has any recommendations, I would really appreciate your help.

I'm an incoming international Master's student at THI (Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt) for Winter Semester 2026. I applied to a public dorm (Canisiusstiftung) and got placed on the waitlist — they told me the current wait time is over 24 months, with rooms allocated strictly by waitlist order.

For those who've been through this process, I'd really appreciate any insight:

• Did you also apply to public/Studentenwerk-run dorms near THI (Canisiusstiftung, Beckerstraße, Münzbergstraße, etc.)? What was the actual wait time you experienced vs what they initially quoted?
• Is there any selection criteria beyond just waitlist position (e.g., nationality, income, program type) that affected how fast you got a room?
• Roughly what's the monthly rent for these public dorms vs private student residences (Uni Apart, Urban.In, Studiosi, etc.) near THI?
• Did you end up going private instead, and if so, was it actually cheaper/faster, or did the public dorm work out despite the long wait?
• Any tips for navigating the private market safely (WG-Gesucht, local Facebook groups, etc.) as someone applying from abroad?

My German is B1-B2, but not comfortable to be 100% in a German environment. I am into cycling, model flying, running and really open to anything like trying baseball, cricket etc.

I am an EU student who graduated with a degree in Marketing and Business Organization, but I am now looking to make a complete career change into STEM. I recently got admitted to the B.Sc. in Computer Science and AI at THI, and I am seriously considering it because I want a highly practical, hands-on approach to build my technical skills.

The syllabus looks great, but I would love some firsthand insights:

• Course Quality: How are the professors, teaching materials, and exams?
• Reputation: How is THI considered overall by employers?
• Grading: What does an "LN" (Leistungsnachweis) actually mean in practice for this course?
• Outcomes: How was your experience finding a job after graduation?
• Accommodation: I am also starting my search for housing (a WG, single apartment, etc.) in Ingolstadt. If anyone has advice on the best platforms or neighborhoods for students, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hello All, so I’m planning to come to Germany to do my master’s and out of all the universities I’ve saw TH Ingolstadt got my attention the most, so how’s the city ? I’ve read that it’s a chill city compared to other German cities, which is a very big advantage for me because I’m not really into nightlife. I also love the castles and everything about them. I just wanted to ask will I struggle with basic German there ? Let’s say A2 to B1 because my studies will be in English. Please share your experience with me if you were ever in my position :).

I recently got admitted to DICE in the Katholische Universität! Therefore I am moving to Ingolstadt start in in October.

I am looking for accommodation, unfortunately haven’t had any luck on WG Gesucht! Anyone have a suggestion on how to find something?

I got admitted to Ingolstadt THI to study automated driving, I find it interesting but not sure about future perspective because most car companies are struggling atm.

I have been a SWE for 8 years and thinking about a career change, I'm 32 if that helps, I also got admitted to a FH in Berlin where I can study applied computer science masters degree as well, which one would it be better?

Hi, ich überlege dieses Jahr mein Studium an THI anzufangen. Diesen Studiengang habe ich so an keiner anderen Hochschule gefunden.
Ich habe nur das Angst das Ingolstadt nicht wirklich eine coole Stadt zum Leben ist.
Hat jemand Erfahrung damit in Ingolstadt zu studieren?
Oder sagt ihr es würde sogar Sinn machen von z.B Nürnberg oder Regensburg zu pendeln.

Ich will natürlich den Studiengang nicht aufgeben nur weil die Stadt nicht genau meine Vorstellungen entspricht. Aber ich würde schon gerne die nächsten Jahre eine schöne Studenten Zeit haben und neue Leute kennenlernen.
