Procera Gin?

Im seeing a lot of ads for this gin. Marketed as exclusive. None of this means much to me though I do love a pretty bottle. Has anyone tried it? Thoughts?

Also, I recently had Hendricks WHITE and loved it as a simple martini with a twist.

Edit for update: WOW. I guess social media is actually targeting me properly then. Thx for the feedback. I’ll check it out.

Help Me Avoid: Citrus Forward, Bright, Lime

Very new to gin.  I generally don't care for drinks that are citrus forward or bright.  And I dislike drinks that have a prominent lime flavor.

Would appreciate it if you take a look at the list below and let me know which are citrus forward or bright or have significant lime.  (This would mostly be for neat and Martinis.)

Botanist

Plymouth

Oxley

Sipsmith

Fords

Tanqueray (not the Ten)

Bombay Sapphire

Bombay Dry

What Gins should I try?

Post image
29 Upvotes

After years of thinking I don't like gin I've discovered I actually like gin based cocktails. I'll be going on a cruise in a couple weeks with an alcohol package which is always a great time to try new things. Here's the brands on offer (I have Elite so anything on here is covered). What should I try. A lime Collins or negroni are my go to drinks for now (I still prefer a vodka martini). Hendricks is the brand I've liked most so far.

What should I try? Brand and drink recommendations both welcome!

2026 England Gin Haul G&T Flight #8. Bonus flight courtesy of a gin mule pick-up in England last month

One of my gin mules was over in England last month, so I had the Forged Gin, Ginsignia, and Spirit of Bristol gins shipped to his hotel from Master of Malt, and he picked up the Roku Kasane Edition at the airport

Having a gin flight while watching England's World Cup Semifinal Game. Gins from England and Argentina.

I still have a couple of gins from Argentina, so figured it a good opportunity for an appropriate gin flight. A barrel rested gin from each country - England and Argentina - and a gin featuring red wine grapes from each country.

Maryland Trip (with an unexpected BONUS)

Previously, I posted about a visit to McClintock Distillery, but here are some more details about the trip and the gin and an unexpected surprise. We went to McClintock before we even went to the hotel. I'd say the tour is slightly above average, but their stills are GORGEOUS. They do a vapor infusion and if you check out the picture of the stills, you can see to the right of the column still the container where the botanicals are held during that process. We came out of there having tasted their entire product line and purchased their 3 pack of gin.

Wednesday that week was a whiskey blending class at Covalent Spirits in Westminster. There I had their magnificent Bee's Bouquet, a flight of their gins (not-pictured), and another delightful gin cocktail who's name eludes me because I was inebriated by that point and failed to write it down. It's the pretty magenta-ish one. That said, Drew does an excellent job serving.

We popped in to a little liquor store during the trip and I FOUND MY WHITE WHALE! Green Chartreuse was available and we scooped up a couple bottles of it to bring back to Florida. This stuff is amazing. I've never had something in which the taste not only lingers, but changes over time. REALLY looking forward to my first homemade Last Word tonight.

Distillation help

So I’ve got a distillation going but I forgot to add the bag of botanicals to the still. Can I finish collecting the hearts, clean the still, put the hearts back in with the botanicals and run the distillation again without changing the flavour profile?

Found a new gin from Southern Sweden today

Post image

I'm spending a couple of weeks in Härnösand, fairly far north in Sweden, about 3 km / 2 miles from where Hernö Gin have their destillery, but today I stumbled on a bottle of gin from Barsebäck Bränneri in the south of Sweden. Supposedly, this one has notes of cardamom and bay leaf.

The labeling is double-sided and the shape of the bottle and the vertical stripes is possibly a reference to what Barsebäck is most known for in Sweden - the nuclear power plant with its square cooling towers.

In NY for a wedding. I’m from Ohio. So many gins I’ve never seen before. I want to take one home. We have Hendricks and gunpowder. So none of those. What do you suggest? I typically drink gin straight, maybe with a lime if it lends it to.

VERY excited to try these, especially the Amber. My state has an ABC board so the state controls what they sell and these are brand new on the shelves for us.

Mermaid Zest Gin appreciation post

Lately, whether I try a new gin, I can only think "Mermaid Zest is better". I love how it smells and tastes a bit like rosemary - I keep seeing people saying that it's citrusy/grapefruity, but all I feel is the rosemary. I will definitely repurchase this one ❤️

Tnoic Water - Sweden

Hi i donno how the rest of u feel also if u have ur local suppliers of tonic. Today im doing Roku, Hendricks and Gordons

But here in sweden ive tried several and i prefer schweppes, is it me that isnt "mature" enough for the tonic? I prefer almost all my gins with Schweppes.

However, the reason i dont buy schweppes anymore is because in sweden they are no long "full sugar" they mix with sweetener, i like pepsi max so im not against it. but i dont want it in my G&T

Ive tried
Åhus
Britvic
FeverTree
Thomas Henry

Edit: I feel that schweppes is the most neutral vessel for my gin. Its the component every bar has. i dont want to match my gin to my tonic, i want a tonic to match my gin. Schweppes keep an even level for me, many are too bitter IMO
