Hail Mary Yoke Design - V2

Post image
73 Upvotes

As requested by u/LeiyanSedai and others, here is a new design -- this time with the fox the right way around (thanks u/TheSheDM!) and the paws better filling out the whitespaces as suggested by u/anothereternity. It is not as elegant as the one u/mellistu found, but it is distinctly Hail Mary themed.

In fact I made two designs: can you help me decide between the two? (I am referencing scenes from the move so spoiler alert)

  1. (left) is the "fishing" scenewhere they dangle the sample collector from the space ship into Adrian's atmosphere
  2. (right) is my interpretation of xenonitethe virtually indestructible Eridian material

I also leaned that I better do intarsia for the few red stitches from u/kkfvjk and a neat trick with a coffee filter to sketch out in the round from u/CDavis10717.

Thank you everyone -- this is such an awesome community !!!

Hail Mary Yoke Design Help

Post image
112 Upvotes

After watching Hail Mary, I jumped on the fox bandwagon and designed a colourwork yoke for a top-down sweater. This will be the biggest knitting project I've attempted, so I'd really appreciate some advice before I commit to it.

Does this look like a practical design to knit? Are there any obvious issues with stitch counts, shaping, or long floats that I'm overlooking?

The chart starts with 128 stitches at the neck and increases to 256 stitches over 10 increase rounds. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Made this sweater from Gravity Falls

I made the Step By Step Sweater by Florence Miller a while ago, but I wasn't super happy with it, mainly because of the fit. I knit it a bit too large for my liking, and the body and sleeves were too short because I got impatient lol (learned my lesson there!). A bit later, I was watching Gravity Falls and I realized that I had the exact same sweater Sherrif Blubs wears in the last episode, just without the words. So, I went straight to Micheal's and found the perfect yarn. I duplicate stitched them on using charts I made myself to fit the sweater. Overall, I'm super glad I did this, because I enjoy wearing this sweater a lot more now!

Some fan art for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier": Pillow for Brock Rumlow

Hello guys,

I would like to present to you one of my latest projects in the double knitting technique.

The project is dedicated to one of the characters from the movie "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".

So, double knitting for double agent!

Also, I've made a little video: Link to the video on YouTube, with the most pathos-filled music I could find :)))

The pattern is available for free for all knitters (is it ok to share here link for the pattern?)

I made the Stuffed Owlbear Toy you can find in Baldurs Gate III

“Though threadbare and slightly dirty, this stuffed toy is soft and comforting, like a warm hug.”

I’ve actually made him back in January but wasn’t sure if I should post him since I haven’t posted anything on social media in so long but my partner encouraged me to do so (◍•ᴗ•◍) So let me introduce you to Chubb. I love him very dearly and he has been living happily in our living room ever since I made him. Look through the slides if you want to see more angles of this little guy and also his brother Owlie I made for my best friend. If anybody wants to know how to make their own I followed the pattern by "ComplicatedKnots" on YouTube and made some little changes here and there. You can also find her pattern on Etsy ✨

Looking for a pattern for the part circled. I can figure out the braided part but don't know how to incorporate the wavy out part.

On that same note. If anyone has a developed pattern for the glove part, feel free to share.

Venonat Musselburgh hat

When your teenager godson asks if you can knit him a Venonat hat, you knit him a Venonat hat lol. I used the Musselburgh hat pattern and made my own grid for the Venonat. I used this technique for intarsia in the round. It was very pleasant to work and I will definitely do it again! I will be more mindful of where I do my wrap and turn tho. It shows a bit, it's not too much of an eyesore but yeh.

The hat was about 13 inch long from crown to crown.

I used Knitpick Palette yarn. I wasn't sure I'd like it but oh my it's soft and it works so well with colowork! Will definitely look into getting more for a doodle sweater.

Request: Dragon Age hat pattern for friend

Hello everyone! I have a friend who recently lost her hair during chemo. She’s really into the new Dragon Age game, but I’m not super familiar with the property. Does anyone have a pattern for a knit hat that would be semi-based on the game?

Thank you! I love seeing everyone’s projects.

Progress update on my secret Christmas pressie socks! Hopefully these won’t tear your sole apart! 🤣

The ladder-back Jacquard seems to be working well. Slightly more stretchy than standard fairisle (and more forgiving on tension too!) This is only the first sock so I’m off to knit like a loon!

The yarn is KnitPro Symfonie in Valentine (dark red) and Malabrigo Sock in Primavera (pale colour). The pattern is by me ☺️

Feathered Wings

Hi, I am looking to make a knitted 'the winged lion' from Dungeon Meshi, and I want the wings to look more accurate than just a flat, one or two bump shape.

Does anyone have any patterns or ideas where I can find a proper 'feathered wing' shape? Thanks regardless

Sonic the Hedgehog stuff

Christmas is coming and I want to knit something for my 5 year old nephew, who is a big fan of Sonic. Ravelry has a lot of stuff, but most of it is crochet, and I was hoping to knit something. Does anyone have any ideas?
