My husband and I are planning to do IVF to try and have 1 more baby. My last pregnancy was terrible. I should mention I was previously married for 10 years so all my kids are from my former marriage. I had my tubes tied after my last baby because I was sure I didn’t want more. But I’ve been married to my current husband for 2 years and badly want a baby so IVF is the route we have to go.
Anyway, my last child I was unable to breastfeed due to a PPH immediately after she was born. The way my dr described it was “your body can’t produce milk and heal from a massive hemorrhage at the same time, it’s priority is your body.” I am not even wanting to attempt to breast feed when we have a baby and honestly I’m feeling guilty. I also want to at least try. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hello to all moms. I’m a FTM that just delivered 3 months ago, not sure if this is postpartum that I feel but I really feel guilty for not able to produce breastfeedmilk. I believe I just need some motivation about giving formula to my baby instead of breastfeed milk. As soon as I delivered, I was able to produce and pump some milk but I really really have low supply and I got frustrated so I stop pumping and my baby isn’t latching at all. I feel bad and I feel like I failed as a mom as they say that breastfeed milk is good and it will avoid any future health issues to your baby. Sorry for long post 🥹

Not sure why I’m posting this. Maybe just so others see that there are lots of pro-formula people out there. There are so many posts in this sub with people sharing their horrible experiences with FF shaming from OBs, Peds, family, and friends. I’m genuinely shocked because I’ve had the complete opposite experience. Not one medical professional has pushed me to breastfeed, ever, at all. For baby #2, my OB didn’t even ask what my plan for feeding was. They asked with my first and when I said breastfeeding there was no comment except to let me know the hospital offered classes and support if I was interested.

With family and friends it has also been the same. If anything there was more of a push towards formula, people would tell me to just quit nursing and pumping(which I ended up doing for both). I heard comments like “why go through the stress?” “Are you still pumping?” “You don’t get a badge for breastfeeding”.

I’m a fed is best person and when it comes to feeding your baby, everyone’s got an opinion. Just do what’s best for you and your baby.

I don't know if this has been asked, but I've been wondering this. My LO is 7 weeks old and is on Similac 360 total care. I added 6oz of water to a Dr Brown's bottle and did 3 scoops and the line went to 7 ounces. She drank the whole thing, so do I mark down that she ate 6 ounces or 7? I normally use the pitcher, but I was feeling lazy and didn't prepare it in time.

Hey everyone, just a tired and stressed mom looking for some insight. My girl is 15 weeks old and suddenly not drinking as much. She was eating 5oz of enfamil gentlease for a while and then when she went through what I’m guessing is a growth spurt, she started chugging 6oz each feed. Though, for the last two weeks, it’s been torture. She is hardly eating. She will stop eating/fling herself off the bottle and start crying. Even if I burp her, she will take one sip afterwards and cry. I truly don’t know what’s going on. I contacted the pediatrician and she seems to think it’s the formula and to put her on a hypoallergenic formula but I truly don’t think that’s the problem. Just really need some advice on what I should do for her

We switched recently from 360 total care to enfamil gentlease neuropro. I noticed yesterday with a little bit left at the bottom that the formula has a green hue. She’s only had the bottle for 10 min at that point. Is this normal? I might be thinking too much about this but I’m a bit afraid to give more to my 9 week baby. She’s also had a higher number of poopy diapers yesterday.

Baby is a little over 3 weeks old and I’ve been underproducing this whole time. I am now pumping enough for a little less than half of his food to come from breastmilk and the rest is formula. Yesterday I had the brilliant idea of wanting to just feed him all formula yesterday and today to see if he has any tummy issues with it, in case I decide to stop pumping and switch to just formula. Didn’t really think about how that might mess with his tummy making the switch so abruptly and he had awful painful gas all day yesterday. We were able to help him with some probiotic drops. Anyways, it made me think, is there some kind of transition we are supposed to do for that kind of switch? Like if I was doing 50/50 breastmilk and formula, do 25/75 for a few days first or something? Any advice is appreciated!

6 month old twins

Anyone have this issue? One twin is on the blue Kirkland snd the other is on purple. Purple started to become constipated soon after we switched from Similac but is okay on and off, and with some prune juice per pedi. Blue has been on it for a few months and now suddenly becoming constipated. Is it the formula? We’ve started purées once a day but nothing wild.

I’ve recently made the switch from pumping to formula for my twins. They are 8 months old but yesterday they only drank between 15 to 17 Oz each.

They ate two solid meals and a pouch and a half veggies/fruit pouches but this is a big decline from the 25 to 28 ozs of breast milk they would drink a day.

I guess im just wondering how much your babes were drinking at this time or if i need to call the pediatrician about switching their formula.

My baby is 6 weeks old and weighs 3.34 kg. How much milk should she be taking per feed and per day?
Also, when preparing 90 ml formula, do you use 90 ml water and feed the final volume (around 100 ml after adding powder), or do you discard the extra to make it exactly 90 ml?
Would love to know what your pediatrician recommended.

Recently snagged a Baby Brezza on FB marketplace and super excited to use it as I typically find myself easily overwhelmed and want to ensure I’m able to handle feedings as smoothly as possible during the newborn phase. Has anyone used this before? How did it help with middle of the night feedings? Does it work quicker than hand-making/pitcher method? Open to hear all feedback! I’ll be using Kirkland formula FYI

Hey all, just curious on your experiences with your CMPA babies after they turn 1, my son is approaching 1 and isn’t too fussed on food and still has 5-6 240ml bottles of formula over a 24 hour period so I assume he’ll still want a fair bit of milk and not magically eat lots of food when he does turn one. I did some research and oatly barista seems to be the best nutrition wise for babies but just curious what you all did? And did anyone else have babies not interested in food? He is very much interested in being active and exploring and playing with toys, rather than being contained in his highchair to eat any food

Hello! FTM and still learning about various nipple flows. My LO is 3 weeks old and showing signs of nipple fatigue when drinking from his Evenflo bottles. The current nipple size is “S.” Are there compatible nipples I could look into so I don’t have to majorly invest in another brand entirely? Or should I look into other brands specifically? I’m not sure if he is fatigued because it’s specifically a wide neck style or the flow is too slow… any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Our 8-month-old has been on Bobbie Original since she was 9 weeks old without any issues. Over the last 4 days, though, she’s had nonstop watery diarrhea and I’m starting to feel like I’m going crazy trying to figure out what’s causing it.

We buy Bobbie in bulk directly from Bobbie. I’ve noticed that on days she eats more solids, the diarrhea seems to slow down, but if she’s mostly having formula, it’s constant blowouts.

Has anyone else experienced this recently with Bobbie? I know different manufacturing facilities can have slight ingredient variations, so I’m wondering if anyone has noticed a change.

No one else in our house is sick, and she’s acting completely like herself; happy, playful, and otherwise normal. It’s just the diarrhea that’s concerning. Pediatrician isn’t too worried about it until she hits day 7, as she’s hydrated and acting normal.

Help please! My baby just turned 9 months a couple of days ago and has started to ask for/have a preference for solids over her formula. Which is exciting because she hated solids for the longest time! BUT now she only wants her bottle before naps or bedtime. It's about 50/50 whether she falls asleep with the bottle, which I know isn't the best habit.

Anywaysss, she's now refusing bottles during her wake windows sometimes for no reason that I know or because she wants solids, which means she's not getting enough milk during the day. Which ALSO means she's consistently waking up around 1am (the same time I'm writing this) wanting a bottle and will refuse to go back to sleep until she gets her fill.

For every feeding, I usually make a 6 oz bottle. Sometimes she only drinks 2 oz (wasted formula, boooo), and sometimes I have to make 4 more ounces, so 10 oz total.

She's constantly on the move with crawling and walking along furniture so she's burning a lot of calories. I can sometimes get her to drink more during her wake windows if she's in her car seat or high chair, but it doesn't always work.

She's always been an amazing sleeper and started sleeping through the night around 8 weeks. Since she's refusing to drink enough milk during the day, I have to wake up in the middle of the night to feed her. It generally takes 30–60 minutes depending on whether I made enough milk.

TLDR: my 9month old is only taking bottles before she falls asleep and refuses any other time. Now she’s waking up in the middle of the night to drink more milk bc she isn’t drinking enough during the day. I fear I’m creating a bottle to sleep habit. How do I stop and get her to drink other times?

We exclusively breastfed our first baby, but it gave me intense anxiety, that no amount of medication tamed. It only got better when I stopped breastfeeding. That being said, I plan to formula feed once i give birth soon, as i truly feel like I’ll have a easier time postpartum without the intense anxiety breastfeeding gave me. Im curious how many cans of formula you go through in a month before starting solids? Im just totally clueless and want to get a general idea so we can budget for what to expect

My question is: how much formula should I buy before she arrives? I'm 35 weeks pregnant and I'm afraid I'm under-prepared regarding feeding! In all of my classes, they have glossed over formula entirely and had no helpful information unfortunately. Any advice is appreciated, as I want to make sure I have all of what I need before she's here.

I have a countertop bottle washer, and I have a Babybrezza formula dispenser and a Momcozy formula dispenser that were gifted to me. Anything else? How much formula did you have beforehand? Or did you wait to see what the hospital supplied you with?

Has anyone here who planned to formula feed from the start ever managed to get doctors to do anything regarding medicine to prevent milk coming in? I was left to hang with my first and spent a very uncomfortable two weeks engorged after a c section. it took another five months for my boobs to stop leaking. I feel like there must be an option beyond just waiting it out and cabbage leaves. I’m gonna have a second c section and I would like to take a more proactive approach this time.

I recently found out I carry the BRCA1 gene mutation and need to have an urgent mastectomy, which means I need to stop breastfeeding. I have a four month old and will be switching to formula. With both of my kids I never used formula, so I need some advice.
