Following the post, everyone is invited to contribute a photo or scan of the cover of their used Field Notes of the same edition in the comment section to share how their copy wore over time or was decorated.

This master index will be updated as individual posts for each edition are made over time. Currently thinking Mondays for new posts. Last updated 2026/07/20

Question Notebook set up

I just got a couple field notebooks and I am considering ordering this cover. Im thinking of using them to do more bullet journaling or as a reminder list, etc. and a way to track my weights for the gym/crossfit. I would love to see others set ups and what you use yours for or any other suggestions you may have. I wanted to start with an affordable cover in case this habit doesn’t stick (hello adhd).

Showoff My reading and note-taking carry

Just wanted to share my setup for a wallet (4 cards) + Field Notes pocket notebook + pen + Xteink X4 e-reader daily carry. This setup primarily works because the Bellroy Notebook Cover has a relatively flat surface on the left side which allows the X4's magnet adhesive to securely stick. And the pen loop is the standard-sized Leuchtturm loop.

I put this setup together to build the habit of carrying around a pocket notebook. Since my wallet is always on me (more so than my phone), it made sense to pair the two together. And because I often want to jot down notes while reading, adding the X4 to the setup made sense for my use case.

I will often detach the X4 for a lighter hand while reading around the house or while commuting on the bus/subway.

Staple Day 7/21/26 Staple Day

I needed a zen break (as the previous three pages were filled with a rant about my 7-year-old's recent antics), so I drew a little beach scene with a couple sailboats and a kite.

Believe it or not, I'm not much of an artist!

Question Slimmest way to carry 3 Field Notes?

I’ve considered a Paper Republic, but I think it’s bigger than I want for an EDC. I’m super excited by the new leather sleeve from FN and intrigued by the Stuff Sheath, but I get the impression they max out at 2 FNs.

Ideally I’d love the Pony Express sleeve…but it looks like that ship sailed long ago😞😞😞 Any suggestions?

Question Could someone explain “staple day”

I’ve tried searching the sub for what the deal is with staple day, and I still don’t get it.

Seems like lots of people go whole hog for staple day - presumably because it’s one contiguous piece of paper?

Is there more to it that I don’t understand?

First doodle with the stickers from Licensed to Write on Etsy. Fun! I need to find some richer pens to match those colors.

Some new notebooks to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Gemini X mission. John Young (left) and Michael Collins (right) flew some incredible missions during their careers. John Young flew more types of spacecraft than any other astronaut. He flew missions in the following types of spacecraft: Gemini, Apollo CSM, Apollo Lunar Module, and the Space Shuttle. Also, Kodachrome and Ektachrome colors look so dang good.

Showoff Has anyone seen these before? Kinda cool it had its own pocket for the pen. I’m sure it won’t last before tearing. Any other brands that do this?

I finished another new design yesterday. Kokuyo graph inside. I’m building up my inventory before a local fly-in over Labor Day weekend. I’m going to donate a $1 from every notebook I sell that weekend to the local EAA chapter to support their Young Eagles flights. :)

Question Looking for cover recommendations

I'm looking for recommendations on a cover that would easily hold four Field Notes. Now that is it July, my mind is thinking of how I want to use my Field Notes and planner in 2027 and what changes I want to make.

This year, I've been using my Field Notes for my monthly tracking, notes, etc. I've been doing this for a few years now, and I have a leather cover from Etsy that I do love. I can easily fit two notebooks in it, and recently started using a Penny edition as a spending log and it's getting pretty chunky.

This year to supplement my Field Notes and add a planner to the mix, I have been using a Hobonichi Weeks which I really do like. However, I feel like I want to simplify my journal/planner setup into just one system.

So I'm looking for a cover that would hold 4 Field Notes (monthly tracking/notes, yearly tracking/notes, spending ledger, and Index 52 week planner).

Any recommendations out there people use and like? I see Lochby is capable, but looking around in case there is anything else.

Showoff Apollo 11 Custom

Today is the 57th anniversary of Apollo 11 lifting off from Earth. I decided to make up some covers of my own to celebrate the lunar landing, along with the text of the plaque left on the descent stage of the LM. Buzz facing Neil (who took the pic) and the American flag on the front. On the back, a photo of a boot print in the lunar regolith. Kokuyo graph inside.
