Hey y'all, I'm not from the area but my wife and I make a trip into the mountains every year and we love Ellijay and the surround areas. We love it so much, in fact, we'd like to buy a seasonal home there. We see tons of campers and lots for sale, even some houses for sale, in the coosawatee river resort, and they're always tempting. However, I now look at it as, "why is everyone seemingly dying to get out of there?" Is it just personal finances, people falling out of their love with the area, or is there something going on up there? I don't expect anyone here is a forensics detective, but if you have any insight or opinions on the resort itself, please let me know.

It seems like there are a lot of options in town. I am visiting next month and that’s usually on our list of stops. Is there a standout? We’d have two toddlers with us. Thanks

As a lifelong Ellijay resident, I’ve watched our community grow while still holding onto the small-town values that make it such a special place to live. Whether you’re looking for a mountain home, cabin, acreage, investment property, commercial property, or your first home, having someone who knows the local market can make a real difference.
If you have questions about home values, the buying process, selling strategies, financing, short term rentals, or what the Ellijay real estate market is doing, don’t hesitate to reach out. There is never any obligation. Sometimes a simple conversation is all it takes to point someone in the right direction.
My team and I are here to help buyers and sellers throughout Ellijay and the surrounding North Georgia mountains, and we’d love the opportunity to earn your trust.

I need help looking for a spot that I saw on Carter's Lake from a TikTok video that's no longer available to me. I remember seeing this cliff-like overlook. From the camera POV, it was somewhat shaded from trees and overlooked the whole lake, or a great portion. And then there were mountains across the lake from the spot. I need help pinpointing this spot. I'd great appreciate it.

We are planning a last minute trip to Elijay for Memorial Day weekend. We have a place booked, but nothing else planned. Our children are aged 5-9. Any suggestions for activities, restaurants, or must hike trails with this crew? They have done about 2-ish mile hikes with small elevations.
Happy to drive to some places. Does not have to be in Ellijay proper.

Creekside Fairytale Cabin just went on the market. It’s been a successful vacation rental for 2+ years, and would also be perfect for a retirement home for a couple. Don’t miss out!

Staying in an Airbnb about 10 mins west of Ellijay for a Bachelor trip.
Any suggestions for a dinner spot for 4 dudes?
Also any casual hiking recommendations?
If there's any other must do suggestions, please feel free to share!

Hello again, to reiterate, I am conducting a research study for my AP Research class on healthcare in Georgia. Specifically to see if there is a difference in Healthcare between rural and suburban/urban areas.
My goal of 100 rural participants is almost in reach, however I still need as many people as I can get to take this. So if you can take the 2-3 minutes to complete a survey, it would help greatly, and it is completely anonymous.
If you have questions you can reach out at [email protected]
Thank you for your time and have a good day!

Hello, I am an AP student doing research on Healthcare statuses between the northern rural areas of GA, and comparing them to those of suburban GA. Our group decided that the places we had been to, such as Ellijay, Dawsonville, and Dahlonega would be good places to start on the rural part of the research. This survey is completely anonymous, and we would greatly appreciate any kind of support and response to it. Here's the link if you would not mind taking it, it only takes about 2-3 minutes.
Thank you for your time, and have a great day!

We're considering buying a vacation property in Ellijay and would love to hear from anyone about their experiences, as well as any recs for a savvy, knowledgeable realtor. We live out of state and would possibly be doing a 1031 exchange to pull it off.

Hello!! I’m hoping this is okay to post here, but I’m hosting my 30th birthday at a cabin in Ellijay (I live in Atlanta) and some people will be driving up on Saturday and not staying at the cabin to meet us for a brunch and then go to a few wineries. In total I’ll have about 24 people I need to transfer from the cabin to the wineries and back. We’ve contacted a bunch of companies in the area and most places are a minimum of 6 hours for a bus rental which ends up being about $100 a person just for transportation. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or how difficult it could be to get Ubers or any other options. I just want to explore everything to keep the costs as low as possible for my guests, so any guidance is much appreciated!!

Does anyone know if any of the orchards there grow Empire apples? It's my favorite kind and can't seem to find them. I don't really want to make the long trip unless I can find them. Thanks for any help

So I was in Elijay ga just a few days ago for vacation, I'm not 21 I will say that much and this store had mocktail drinks. One was elderberry lemonade and I'm obsessed and honestly want to see if I can buy it online but can't remember the name of the store. Can anyone help me find it? The store also had wine tasting and the area with mocktails was like nature/plant themed

Anybody know of any hotels in town that offer overnight parking to a non-guest? Happy to pay a fee. Similar to airport parking offered by the hotels in the city. Just need to leave a truck for a few nights while we do some adventuring

I own 2.4 undeveloped acres in Talking rock creek resort by Carters Lake. In the past week, I have had two people make offers to buy my property site unseen. A quick search says there’s a lot of development in the area and highway expansion with new subdivisions.
Does anybody know any other information about the area?
Thank you in advance.

Me and a few of my groomsmen are staying in Ellijay in June, and I was wondering what kind of fun things are there to do for a group of nearly 30 yr old guys looking for an active, fun time?
