I am a guitarist mainly, but I bought this set and was like f it. I kinda know some things from writing drums on my DAW, but yeaah.

Been having extreme anxiety lately and I have all of my socmed accounts deactivated to avoid the toxicity of this world but I also want to get up from the struggle! Due to that, I decided to do a quick cover of Sweet Victory from Spongebob's "Band Geeks" episode 15, season 2. It's a very iconic song (plus I've been listening to it a lot lately lol) and I felt like I should play this for a first cover with this new kit I just got last month. I haven't played since 2024 and I'm not used to electric kits since I mainly played on my acoustic kit before I left my home country xD It feels weird hearing it makes a punchy sound while it being plastic-y.

I'm very anxious and shy about posting this knowing that this is Reddit but I figured why not. Life is way too short so enjoy music with people ❤️ doing this cover did make me feel better so if you haven't practiced today or for quite a while, go practice and play songs you enjoy jamming with!

I've got an alesis dm10 with all the inputs in use but want to add a few more pieces to the kit with out having to use splitters. I'm also using it hooked to my PC with plugins. Should I get something like the ddrum trigger module as a second interface or are there other options for running really large kits?

All I can saw is wow.
1. Now I have a proper snare size and fits my snare stand much better.

1. Size allows me to play much more natural.

2. The mesh head feels so nice. A really nice feel.

3. Works perfectly with my Nitro Max trigger wise. Just fixed the sensitivity and tightened the head slightly.

Makes the other drums look so small now.

But this will work until I move and get better.
I was thinking of getting the top Roland that is realistic size but not sure now.
Dolby Drums I can build the entire kit on my own and get Lemon cymbals. Using a macbook with a VST eventually full time, so no need for a module.
I am going to see how this holds up until January before deciding.

Ive been playing for about a year on a small alesis mesh kit and I want to upgrade to something not too pricey but good for intermediate playing, i saw this one listed online

So I'm 6'3" and a big dude. I'm looking at getting a beginner kit as I go on my learning the drums journey. Currently playing a practice pad on a snare stand.

I've been looking at the Alesis Nitro Max and Pro, along with a bunch of other sub $1000 sets. But it's hard to find info on what would be most comfortable/doable for taller folks. Anyone have advice?

I got an alesis strike pro used and after setting it up and putting all the plugs in, there was no audio coming through my headphones. But the screen would register stuff getting hit. There was zero presets in it as well and the click wouldn't come through headphones either. Anyone know a possible problem? New sd card maybe?

What’s the best drum app / website for learning drums but also being able to play along to music and learning the songs?
I know you can get some on YouTube but would like an app that’s easier to navigate and get songs without drums to play to aswell.

Hi folks! I just set up a brand new Alesis pro mesh kit and something is going on with the snare. It’s producing a weird snapping/clicking sound roughly every 3rd stroke or so. It’s very random and I can’t seem to find any consistency in terms of volume, where on the mesh I hit or anything else. I can only describe the sound as resembling the sound dry spaghetti makes when you break it, but electric. Not sure if that makes sense.
I’ve tried checking the plug, changed the volume of my headphones and adjusting the position of the drum and nothing seems to change it. Doesn’t happen with any of the other drums.
Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?

Will be gigging (occasionally) a Roland TD716 eKit.

Probably looking at padded bags rather than hard-cases (on cost, but self-transporting, so just basic protection)

What have people found / used that works well?

I'm curious what acoustic kits my fellow redditors have used to convert to a gigging ekit. I have a rather large custom acoustic kit on a PDP rack, and I spent a great deal of money on it. I'd really rather let that kit remain acoustic, and buy something else that will strictly be a full time ekit. I have a V31 and a bunch of triggers, and right now I have to swap heads and mount the triggers every time I want to run it as electronic.

I’m not really a drummer, I bought them for using them for a project and also as collectors pieces.

These are the first version that came out in april 1985 before Simmons asked other brand to stop using the famous hexagonal shape. So production time of the kit was less than one year, before another version of this one with different pad shape was released.

What type of tom rack should I use to put these two pad ? And also what type of drum stick should I buy for not damaging too much the rubber head ? I got pretty big hands.

Hi! I’m hoping to get back into drumming after a 15-year hiatus. I’ve never played on an electronic set before, but I can’t get an acoustic since I have a baby and toddler in the house.

Any suggestions for a good starter set? I want one that’s easy to use. I really just need the basics, but I want them to sound good and be decent quality (I.e. not just a cheap one). I won’t be touring or anything, but we may have a driveway concert in our neighborhood every once in a while.

Regarding budget: maybe something between $700-2000ish? Less expensive is better, but I don’t want a piece of trash.

I was thinking about getting him a Bluetooth drum set for his PhD graduation, but does that work with headphones (walls are also incredibly thin)? Hi, I need your advise.
I want to buy a kit, but I have very limited space for it (around 170x100 cm). The kit I want to get is Millenium MPS 750x, and on Thomann website the description says it takes around 140x80cm, but I guess it is without a throne, so I’m not sure if it will even fit in altogether with a throne. Maybe if you could share how much space your kits take including the throne I’d have some understanding.
Idk if it’s relevant, but my height is a bit below 170cm.

Hello there! I've been looking at kits for the past months because I want to get into drumming. I have zero knowledge whatsoever, but from what I've read I've settled on the Alesis Nitro max kit, which costs 420€. I haven't bought it yet, but recently I saw online someone selling a used nitro mesh kit, along with a stool, for 368€. The seller claims the kit was used only once, and from the pictures it looks pretty good and untouched.

I know it's an older model, I know the snare pad is pretty small, and I can't seem to find it new where I live, but is it worth it? Or should I just go for the nitro max?

Hello anyone who reads this. I was just wondering if any of you have bought any type of Roll-Up compact drum pads for very very quiet practice? Or for traveling? Mainly I was just wondering if you found any benefit or utility in practicing with all the pieces laid out on a small mat kind of thing, I have a set of e drums in the garage at home but I work in camp for at least 3 weeks at a time. I bring my sticks with me and just kind of practice in the air a lot when I'm off shift LOL but I also I'm just a beginner and I'm really trying to get rhythm and motion down, specifically when I'm doing offbeats with a hand playing one part on the symbols and kicking the bass with one foot, so I find having an actual tangible sound and impact really helps with it. Anyways, thanks in advance. Oh, also, if you have found a product you like, does it have a pedal for the base? Because I see a lot of them with a pad on the mat for the bass drum which I don't think I would be interested in.

So I’ve never played the drums before and I’m looking to start a new hobby. I’m 30+ and I work nights and have a decent amount of free time during the day. Instead of sitting around doing absolutely nothing I’d like to focus my time more meaningfully.

That said, I’ve been looking at all the edrums reviews from the different brands. I keep coming back to going with Alesis, not only because of the good reviews but because of the free 3 months of drumeo which sounds like it’s a great tool to have for beginners.

Am I right in thinking this? Or should I continue my search elsewhere?
