The track that pulled me into all of this was one of those big 2011 progressive house anthems everyone had on repeat, and I hadn't played it in years until it came on shuffle last week. And i gotta be honest here, it still holds up, although I listen to it completely differently now. Back then it was THE sound for me. Now it feels almost quaint next to the stuff I chase, and I catch myself hearing the mixing choices instead of just feeling the thing. Which got me curious how the rest of you have drifted. That first song that flipped a switch and sent you down the rabbit hole, do you still put it on, or has your taste moved so far it's basically a different genre now? And is it pure nostalgia, where you only play it to remember being 19, or does it genuinely still earn a spot in the rotation? I feel like everyone's origin track indicates when they came up. The 2012 bloghouse people, dubstep-first crowd, those who started from a mainstage set and worked backward. Curious where the line sits between "this shaped me" and "I've outgrown this," because for a few of mine both are somehow true at the same time.

I think his music is good, but it depend on the tracks. I love tracks like Delilah, places to be, This is Real. However, i not into Rumble neither with Victory Lap since Grime is not my cup of taste.

This is absolute perfection. Really recommend if you havent given it a listen and you like colorbass/electronic music in general!

I really enjoy Bob Moses, their music has such a fun and cheesy EDM vibe that scratches some itch for me. That said, as someone who read The Power Broker (Robert Caro) about the original Robert Moses before discovering Bob Moses the Canadian EDM duo, I can’t shake the confusion over the decision to choose a stage name so closely tied to someone who was so destructive to American cities, setting them back decades in sound and sustainable urban planning. So I gotta know: has anyone asked these guys what they know about Mr. Moses?

I’ve been seeing a lot of talk about AI artists and DJs recently and I just wanted to chime in. (fyi: I think all AI music should be banned.)

I’m just not sure how people keep falling for AI artists. Like if you find an artists you like do a little research…check their social medias. What sets they’ve performed in the past. Other music of theirs. Etc etc. I know we are all trying to find new and upcoming artists, but if they’re REALLY a real person then of course they’ll have other channels to try to promote themselves.

I ventured back into the festival/EDM world after about six years away, and one thing I wasn’t expecting was seeing so many rave families.
I had a small one years ago with just my roommates at the time, but I don’t remember them being everywhere like they seem to be now. Coming back this weekend honestly made me realize how much I miss having that little group to experience everything with.
I usually end up going to festivals solo these days, so part of me is low key hoping to get adopted by a rave family for a night at a future festival. 😂
For those of you who have one, how did you end up finding your group? Were you all friends beforehand, or did your rave family just grow over time through meeting people at shows? I’m curious how people actually build those connections now.
Just curious because I feel like I somehow missed this whole evolution of rave culture while I was gone.
