Didgeridoo Meditation

I bought this didgeridoo in 2017; I was traveling quite a bit back then. Unfortunately, nasty polyps and a few surgeries put an end to my playing. It’s a compact Ujazi in B-flat, if I recall correctly.

Always wanted to learn to play, for $40 dollars I thought it was a decent gamble.
Anything that jumps out looking at pics, that will make this to hard to learn on? I have some bees wax on order for a mouth piece.
How can you tell if a didg has been carved or termite eaten, any ideas on the type of wood?

It’s about 1.2m in length.

Sorry for all the questions

I'm still pretty new to this, but I got a buddy to play a drum while I played and thought it was worth sharing.

Had fun with this one. To be fair it’s ricola horns, or didgeridoos that the dinosaurs are “didg’ing” because they were easier to edit with 😅

Hey everyone. We took the didge out to the terrace with a full rhythm section: djembe, bass, drum kit. It gets pretty trancey, pretty fast. Curious if anyone else here has experimented with didge in a full rhythm section setup like this, or do you usually keep it more traditional/solo?

Moving from a bamboo didge to hardwood

I'm the last month I've gotten my circular breathing down. Been using a light weight bamboo digde. I'm ready to try with a hardwood didge. Looking for folks who have made this type of move.

What does the hardwood didge feel/sound/play differently that a cheaper/bamboo one?

What kind of didge was your "level up" didge?

Thanks all!

DIY Red Maple Branch Didge Advice

I have this maple branch that is fully dried out (at least 2 years indoor drying). It's a bit more than 5 feet long, width at top is just under 2", at the bottom 2.5". My immediate thought when seeing it was that I would eventually turn it into a didgeridoo. I've done other woodworking projects before, but this is definitely the most challenging. I'm tempted to get a 3" cordless bandsaw just for the long cut, but also read that splitting along the grain is another possibility. The knots will make that difficult though, right? I plan first to strip the bark. Will be a "no rush" project, but I'm determined to end up with a nice DIY didge at some point down the line. Any tips for how to get going? Thanks in advance!

Mini didge

I’m thinking about getting a mini didgeridoo. Any suggestions. I want the lowest key I can get in a small package. I basically want it for laying back on the couch and not having to hold my didge upright

Kinda cracked Didgeridoo?

So I have been trying to learn the Didgeridoo for awhile now and my sound just always sounds off. I have kinda practised alot and it just sounds like a lot of air is escaping. I got this Didgeridoo from a friend before he moved abroad, he didn't ever play it though. I did notice a while back that there are some small cracks in it, but didn't think much of it. Are these cracks affecting my play? Or am I just bad?

Didge creation help!

I am being gifted this agave stalk which has just fallen, and am hoping to turn it into a lovely deep bass didge!

So now I have tons of questions. Firstly will of course be drying and prepping the stalk. After that, determining how much of the base of the stalk I can turn into the bell end, where to cut for proper tuning, finishing, and then a mouthpiece. A wood worker I am not, so I was thinking of finding someone to craft a mouthpiece for me.

Sorry this is all a jumble, but excitement and nerves abound. I will be picking up the stalk in approximately 1 month. I’ve asked the homeowner to lean the stalk up against something so it doesn’t rot in the grass. Any helpful suggestions on that front would be greatly appreciated.

Harvested a living, green , 25 ft Agave stalk, I need to know how to treat it properly.

This agave flower had to be harvested, because the guy wanted it removed. The flowes were just beginning to open. I have several pieces, 12ft, 7 ft, and some shorter pieces with a out an 8 inch diameter. I do not have experience with this, some advice was to remove pith now, some said leave it to dry. Some said seal the menda with wax, others to the contrary. Any advice or theories would be appreciated, I do not want any of this precious material going to waste. It is a really beautiful specimen. How do I properly stabilize this material? This will be my first time making a digeridoo. Any tips?

very heavy termite hollowed.

I realize this is a terrible photo. It is very heavy and has painted pictures of scorpions, spiders and white dots, and it is signed in paint "KB" I would like to know if this style and signature is known, and perhaps how old this would be.
