Before we dive into the HearthCalendar, here are the results of the Broadening Horizons round:
The HearthCalendar is a collaborative community project held to commemorate the 500th Weekly Design Competition that's just transpired. Three cards from that round have been chosen to seed a custom Hearthstone set, and designers now have assigned card slots to contribute.
Each card slot in the set (identified by class and rarity) is assigned a designer, and a date by which the card should be submitted. The progress on the HearthCalendar is tracked via a Google Sheet, and can be viewed via three lists:
Submitted cards are only officially revealed in the Google Sheet and in a specific channel in the Discord server.
As a designer, your goal is to create cards that would fit into the custom set based on cards that have already been created ("revealed"), and submit them to the organizer (/u/Filipuntik) by the assigned submission date. The cards will promptly appear in the set after the assigned date.
There are no further specifications as to what card you're making besides the class, the rarity, and previously revealed cards. If you have an idea for a keyword or another great mechanic for the custom set, or think that a previously submitted card would make for a great cycle, there's nothing stopping you from shipping it with your card submission!
Of course, this is a collaborative task. You're free to design your cards in private, only looking at the existing cards, but you're highly encouraged to discuss the overall direction of the set with other designers. This also lets you remain actively participating even when you don't have an upcoming due date! While the comment section is fine for discussions, you should definitely join the Discord server for a more direct information channel. It'll be easier to communicate any schedule updates there, too.
Finally, the schedule is malleable, to a point. Bumping, moving assignments ahead, or swapping them around is feasible. However, the schedule has been designed with at least a few days between different designers' takes on the same class, so that nobody gets thrown a curveball. Changes should ideally not violate this soft rule.

Other variations: Mulled over giving Sword of Mastery's AoE an "improved by Spell Damage". Thought it was a bit much.
Was juggling giving Stung this effect or just being able to attack minions in hand directly. Chose this since the latter seemed a bit weak.

Automatic actions are:
* Drawing a card
* Gaining a Mana Crystal
* Any card that upgrades in hand, like Cultivating Sprite or the Druid Bloom cards
* Any end of turn or start of turn effects
So the way it works, is that it skips your turn immediately, then it skips your opponent's turn so it becomes your turn again. But it doesn't skip all the automatic actions in between that would have happened if it was your turn normally.
