Meta Farewell – Stepping Down as Moderator

Hello there, r/CineShots,

I've got some news.

After two and a half years, I am retiring as a moderator of this subreddit.
I joined in 2023 when r/CineShots was at its lowest point and our mod team stepped in to give it a new shape and proper care to make it the place it is now today – a community to share and discuss great stills and shots from notable movies and TV shows. I'm proud of what we accomplished together during all that time!

From that original team are still moderators active, so the sub will continue to run as usual, and my absence should not be noticeable.

In addition, new moderators joined and will join the team which should bring in fresh wind and is something to look forward to.

After the end of this month, I will fully step away from all moderation duties. I will remain on the mod list for the time being, but I will no longer be actively involved.

Thank you for all the awesome posts and discussions over the years, it has been my pleasure to be part of this community.

Take care, and farewell!
—Palmer

I know the John Ford advice to always have the horizon on the bottom or top to keep it interesting and I know the ending was playing off of that but I’m confused

In Picture 1 (the initial shot) the horizon is at the top of the screen, but when he changes it to Picture 2, the horizon is now in in the direct middle of the screen. Am I reading this wrong? I see everyone else explain it the opposite so I may need help understanding it

Some info on the DoP:

Known for his incredible camera work on Better Call Saul and El Camino, Adams teamed up with veteran director Michael Morris for this episode to transition John Sugar's journey into a more grounded, community-focused Los Angeles neo-noir style.
