Y'all, I am so excited.
Meet Mars Simula who turned 8 weeks old on Thursday. He's brought me so much joy. And he loves his theme song.

One of my all time favorite chevelle songs easily. This and the majority of their primarily acoustic material are highlights of their discography imo. This, Bend the bracket, Prima Donna, and One lonely visitor specifically. If you’ve written some of these songs off then please go and give em another spin!

I love all of Chevelle’s work but point #1 got me really into them and it’s my favorite album by them. I’d kill to see them play it in full.

As I was walking around town a couple of weeks ago I spotted some posters for the new album, and as A Miracle I managed to snag a ticket for today's concert.
I cannot stress enough how incredible they sound live, it was an absolute treat and a dream come true to be so close.
Hopefully what the voices are saying is true and they do a headliner tour, it's been too long and 8 songs is simply too short for their catalogue.
Anyone there for just Chevelle tonight?

I am going to the show with my girlfriend and our friend was supposed to come and he couldn’t make it, would anyone like to take their ticket, I had to buy them on resale for £75 so that’s the asking price. We can meet up somewhere in London tomorrow and travel to the event together since I have all three tickets on my phone or just meet outside the venue

if that makes sense I give praise, pristine adherence towards the request of infallibility, oh what a rumble this Finnish-derived album is

Think of the lyrics of one placed on the instrumental of others. It’s been done plenty and I think it’d be an interesting concept. Something out of the norm, y’know.
The one that sparked this idea was Another Know It All & Comfortable Liar (which I’d name either “Comfortable Know It All” or “Another Liar”.) I was thinking of AKIA’s lyrics on Comfortable Liar’s sound, mix it right and I think you really have something going.
Thoughts on these hypotheticals? Maybe ones that you’d like to actually hear?

Long time fan. Recently started revisiting their catalog from front to back. Came across the 12 bloody spies B-sides and how did I miss this release?!?!? I can see why some of these tunes didn’t make an official album but what a treat to have them on a separate release!
I guess my question is, does anyone know what albums / timing these tracks were recorded?

Everything about this whole experience was just kind of surreal...
Sorry if this ends up being a long story but I really just want to share it. Here’s the thing: I didn’t even know Chevelle until a little over a year ago. But throughout this past year, their music has become incredibly meaningful to me. Like, top tier of favourite bands, and I don’t say that lightly. I’m 40 years old right now and it’s been about twenty years since I last discovered an artist or band who ended up rising up to the top of my most beloved musicians. For all those years, I would say that Pearl Jam has always been my favourite band, with no rivals. Maybe Tool and a few others have come relatively close, but nowhere actually near PJ in terms of “this is a band I will listen to till the day I die and when I do, please bury me wearing one of their shirts”. That kind of meaningful. I can’t even really put it into words, what their music does to me, but Chevelle was my most-listened-to artist on Spotify last year, and I have no doubt that they’ll be my no. 1 again in 2026. It’s been so, so long since I’ve discovered an artist I could just listen to all day, every single day, for weeks on end without ever getting sick of them and frankly, I didn’t think it ever would happen again, but here we are. Also, fun fact: technically speaking, I consider Chevelle the best band I know, for the simple reason that they have not one single song that I dislike, let alone an album. This is an absolutely unique feat, in my book – I can’t even say that for PJ, they have whole albums I never listen to. Chevelle is… flawless.
I live in the Netherlands, and having somewhat familiarised myself with their tour history (and the fact that they – undeservedly – don’t seem to be very ‘big’ outside of the US) I kind of figured the chance of ever seeing them live at this point in their career was probably slim to none. And while this made me very sad, I resigned myself to this idea and simply appreciated the fact that I had their music in my life at all.
Time-jump back to October last year. On an absolute whim I decided to by tickets to A Perfect Circle. This was fairly out of character for me, as I (being autistic and very easily overwhelmed) really don’t attend concerts very often. While it’s an experience I thoroughly enjoy, it’s also extremely taxing, and it’s something I only choose to do for artists that really mean the world to me. And besides that, it’s also not something I can easily afford. But something compelled me to buy these tickets. A little voice that said “come on, you need to get out of your shell and stop being so afraid to do exciting things with your life!”. So I cracked open my piggybank and bought these tickets to APC, which made me super excited.
Time-jump forward to May this year. It occurred to me that I had no idea if APC had a support act, so I checked out Ticketmaster for info. I quickly learned that Ticketmaster is crap in terms of providing event information (besides being crap in so many other ways, but never mind), so instead I searched the venue’s (AFAS Live in Amsterdam) website. APC… scroll scroll… support act… blah blah.
And then something caught my eye, in the bottom right corner of the page. It was Chevelle’s instantly recognisable artist’s photo, the same one they use on Spotify with the red smoky background…
“Chevelle @ AFAS Live on July 8, supporting Breaking Benjamin”. Guys… My heart dropped.
A million things raced through my mind all at once, most prominently “WHY DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS?!” (The answer to which, as it turns out, is because not one single ‘alert service’ will warn you about support acts going on tour with other bands. Not Spotify, not Ticketmaster (obviously…), not Bandcamp, not Songkick… Nobody.)
I immediately raced over to the Ticketmaster website to see if there were still tickets available (not daring to hope for anything, this close to the actual event date) but lo and behold… not sold out!!
I didn’t even think twice about it. I immediately put my APC tickets up for sale and bought the tickets to Breaking Benjamin. Luckily, it didn’t take long to sell my other tickets and I even made a little bit of profit, which is just as well because the tickets to BB were way more expensive.
Yep. I love this band so much that I happily paid €200 for a 45-minute show. (I left immediately after they were done!)
And I can say… It was worth every cent, for every minute. And now, three hours after the fact, I’m still having a hard time believing it actually happened.
I’m just so thankful. And I may not be much of a spiritual type, I do sometimes tend to believe the universe works in mysterious ways.
If I had not decided, on a total whim, to buy those tickets to APC, this would have never happened. If Ticketmaster provided even halfway decent event information, I never would have gone over to the AFAS Live website and I never would’ve found out about Chevelle coming to Amsterdam. (Or, worst of all, I would have at some point found out afterwards… The horror!)
And while it was definitely kind of weird being pretty much the only one there who screamed along to every single song, I also absolutely didn’t care and decided to take my one chance to enjoy this opportunity and just completely let loose. So if you were there, and you noticed some weirdo chick with pink hair up on the balcony, nearly banging her head off during Mars Simula… Congratulations, you saw me. 🤣
Thank you, if you’re still here reading this. Please enjoy my crappy video.
And thank you to Chevelle, for all eternity, for existing.
