Our work neighbours have got a new toy
And they keep playing with it in the afternoon.
I would not usually mind, but it's made the roads much more congested than usual and it's screwing with my journey home.

Sigh. Another Thursday. Another slog through to the end of the week.
What's doing your swede in this week? Kids on school holidays and causing chaos? Arguments with the neighbours about bins? Your boss giving you a hard time for no reason?
Come and have a good moan.

Well, this is a new one for me, drone operated window cleaning service in London. Seems excessive on water use, but it's impressive how it gets the water up the pipe to the nozzle.
I couldn't see the flyer, but there was a guy on the ground ensuring the hose didn't twist.
Seemed to be working on windows 5-6 floors up.

Also kudos to the legend that saw my heartbroken 10 year old drop an ice cream outside his shop and gifted him an envelope with some stickers and a fiver in it to cheer him up. I bought him another ice cream and he was up a fiver so was well chuffed.

I debuted my heavyweight combat robot Breakwell Tart at Extreme Robots at the Newcastle Vertu Arena last weekend.
As a Robot Wars fanatic when I was a kid, this was a childhood dream come true.
To explain the format, Extreme Robots have 3-4 teams (Inferno, Divinity, Wolfpack and Quake) which robots are assigned to for the season. Newer robots have to fight in a pre-show "Fight Club" to qualify for a spot on a team in the main show.
6 months of blood, sweat and tears went into this build. Loved every second of it all paying off. The audience really seemed to love it too, got loads of great feedback.

Tomorrow is my mum's 60th. It's also her sister's 60th. They're identical twins.
Every year for as long as I can remember, they have given each other money on their birthday, always the same amount, £30. I have, of course, continuously pointed out that they're not actually receiving any money but merely exchanging money i.e. following this exchange neither is any richer nor poorer.
Despite this, it remains tradition, and I still find my mum complaining about it as if it's some kind of annoyance. Just the other day she sighed and said "I have to go and get £50 for [sister's name]". I asked why 50, and she said because it's a big birthday this year and they agreed on 50; followed by a complaint about having to fish out even more money this year after having an unexpectedly high MOT bill.
I, naturally, told her not to worry as she'll get all her money back straight away; and she gave me a grumpy look as if it was somehow not true.
Other times she's talked about wanting to buy a particular item, and said "well, I'll get some birthday money from [sister's name], that'll go towards it", as if she will somehow be richer than she is currently.
Does anyone else have a daft family tradition like this?

Going to a water park next week with a few mates (dads outing) and the kids. One of the dads isn’t keen on this as he’s rather a big guy - obese. He’s coming as his daughter will love it. He’s alright with us, not super comfortable but knows we accept him as is. He’s ours.
Do those working in the parks snigger at the big fellas (or women) and their ‘shapes and sizes’?
I’d hope not but I’d like to be able to confidently to say him, no one’s arsed.
Cheers.

Pity about the cat nose smudges with fur stuck on the window obscuring the view, lol. Location N. Ireland. Now gonna inspect what garden plants have been eaten today 😄

Just had a random thought pop into my head watching "Brave Wilderness" on YouTube purposefully sting himself with a Gympie Gympie leaf.
I think the last time i was stung by a nettle was when i was a kid, I'm 40 now and presume its just because I don't play out anymore.
When was the last time you were stung and if you have kids, when was the last time they were stung? Do kids get stung less these days because they're too busy being glued to screens?

Has anyone found any supermarket/cheaper alternatives that taste similar to Kenco rich instant coffee? I have bought it as long as I can remember, but it has doubled in price in the last 6 years and now they have reduced the jar by 10g but kept the price the same.

Clearing out a relatives house my wife found this sealed box of stationary from a wimpy giveaway. I'm sending my kids back to school in style.

Right, so it's mid week. Happy hump day and all that, but why aren't you in bed? Neighbours putting their bins out keeping you awake? Kids being little shits? Working the nightshift?
Come on in for a chat.

I went on my first holiday in a decade last month, and for the whole month ive been looking up good price package holidays to try and go away again next year.
Seems this is pretty common, we went to the north of Tenerife and loved it, felt depressed since coming back, hit me hard this morning as id fallen asleep too early and woke up at 2am. While writing this im noticing its exactly 1 month since we came back.

I can't remember the last time we had any decent rain but I'm at least glad it's under 30°c now.
I have used the lawnmower once this year.
Can anyone else give me some solidarity that I'm not the only one?
