Welcome to r/borrowersSUB, a moderated forum for documenting private peer-to-peer loan requests between eligible Reddit users.

Before posting:

  1. Read the Rules.
  2. Read the Borrower or Lender Guide.
  3. Read the Safety Guide.
  4. Use only the approved post tags and formats.

Meta [META] Safety warning — no fees, collateral, passwords, or public personal data

1 Upvotes

A legitimate participant does not need your password, one-time code, recovery code, bank login, remote-device access, intimate images, gift card, crypto test transfer, or advance “verification” payment.

Never publish your name, exact address, phone number, email, payment handle, account number, ID, tax number, signature, or employer contact information.

If someone requests prohibited information or payment:

• Stop communicating.
• Save redacted evidence.
• Report and block the account.
• Send a concise report to modmail.

Moderator flair is not a request for money. Moderators will never hold or route loan funds.

Meta [META] Temporary posting access while Reddit completes our Public-status change

1 Upvotes

Reddit is processing our request to change r/borrowersSUB from Restricted to Public. While that review is pending:

• Anyone may join, read, vote, and comment.
• To create a post, use Reddit’s “Request to Post” or contribution-request option.
• Moderators will review contribution requests as quickly as possible.
• Approved users must still follow every community rule, required title format, account-eligibility rule, and safety control.

Do not send unsolicited loan requests or personal information through private messages. Never pay upfront fees, deposits, or collateral.

We will update this notice when Reddit completes the Public-status change.

Meta [META] Interest is allowed; extra fees are prohibited

2 Upvotes

BorrowersSub allows lawful interest when it is fully disclosed before funding.

Every request and agreement must state:

  • the principal;
  • the interest amount or rate;
  • the exact total repayment; and
  • the due date.

No separate application, origination, processing, verification, transfer, late, extension, rollover, collection, or other fee may be added. Late status does not increase the agreed repayment. No deposits, collateral, gift cards, crypto tests, or advance payments are allowed.

The disclosed total repayment is the maximum community-recognized amount. All participants—including moderators and the community owner—follow this same rule. Users remain responsible for complying with applicable law.

Meta [META] BorrowersSub rules — read before borrowing or lending

2 Upvotes

BorrowersSub is a public forum for documenting private peer-to-peer loans. It is not a lender, broker, bank, escrow service, collection agency, credit bureau, or guarantor. Participation is at your own risk and subject to applicable law.

These rules apply equally to borrowers, lenders, moderators, and the community owner:

  1. Be civil. No threats, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or doxxing.
  2. No spam, referral schemes, vote manipulation, duplicate promotion, or unsolicited advertising.
  3. Preserve the public record. Do not delete, hide, or materially rewrite transaction history.
  4. Never publish sensitive information, including names, addresses, phone numbers, email, IDs, bank data, payment handles, signatures, or employer contacts.
  5. No unsolicited private contact. Lenders must first comment publicly on the request.
  6. One loan request per 24 hours. Do not evade limits with alternate accounts.
  7. Follow all applicable lending, interest, fee, licensing, tax, privacy, sanctions, and debt-collection laws.
  8. One person, one account. No purchased, shared, or household sockpuppet accounts.
  9. Record every loan, renewal, rollover, and additional advance arising from this community.
  10. Use approved titles and truthful terms. State principal, currency, total repayment, due date, location, and payment methods accurately.
  11. No upfront fees, deposits, collateral, gift cards, crypto tests, or advance “verification” payments.
  12. No passwords, one-time codes, recovery codes, bank logins, remote access, full government identifiers, or intimate images.
  13. Respect existing obligations. Do not seek another loan while overdue or conceal active loans.
  14. Record outcomes promptly as Funded, Paid, Late, Unpaid, or Disputed.
  15. Cooperate with safety moderation and provide only redacted evidence through modmail.

A lender claim alone does not prove nonpayment. Late or unpaid findings and permanent bans require a linked public record and moderator review. Moderators who lend receive no exception or priority.

Meta [META] Introduce yourself: borrowers, lenders, and safety-minded members

2 Upvotes

Tell us which role interests you and what a fair, transparent peer-lending community should do well.

This thread is for introductions and constructive ideas—not loan requests or lending advertisements. Do not solicit private messages or post financial, payment, employment, identity, or contact information.

A useful introduction can mention:

• whether you are interested in borrowing, lending, moderation, or community safety;
• what clear repayment documentation should look like;
• which scam warning signs newer members should know;
• what would make you trust a community’s rules and public records.

Keep it public, general, and respectful.
