This project pushed me to the limits of my patience and skill. Mostly hand brushed with a bit of masking + airbrush to finalize the details, I wanted to give a final push before welcoming our first child in late August. Enjoy this picture of me exhaustedly smiling next to the piece plus some detail shots. The painting is 48x60in and I call it "Xenofract".

Technology Chris Espinosa: Silicon Valley legend still working in Apple from the past 50+ years

Meet Chris Espinosa, currently the longest-serving employee at Apple. He joined Apple back in 1976 at the age of 14, writing BASIC code while the company was still based in Steve Jobs’ garage

At just 14 years old, Espinosa wandered into Steve Jobs' garage, curious about the computers he'd heard were being built there. Instead of shooing him away, Jobs put him to work.

Chris became Apple's 8th employee, writing some of the earliest software manuals for the Apple II while still in high school. But Espinosa's journey was just beginning. As Apple grew from a scrappy upstart to an industry titan, Chris grew with it.

He worked on groundbreaking projects like the Lisa computer and the original Macintosh, helping shape the user-friendly interfaces that would become Apple's hallmark.

Fast forward to 2026, Espinosa has seen it all, and yet he's still coding. Today he's probably the guy in every meeting who says: “We’ve been through this, guys”.

History The Miracle Worker

Post image

Before she became 'The Miracle Worker,' Anne Sullivan survived an unthinkable childhood. Sent to a bleak Massachusetts poorhouse as a child, she suffered from a painful eye infection that left her nearly blind, slept in rat-infested quarters, and lost her little brother to illness.

Driven by a desperate hunger to survive, she threw herself in front of a visiting state inspector and pleaded for a chance to go to school. That bold leap got her into the Perkins School for the Blind, where she underwent surgeries to restore partial sight and eventually graduated as class valedictorian.

In 1887, Perkins sent Anne to Alabama to help Helen Keller, a seven-year-old girl left deaf and blind by fever. Understanding Helen’s violent tantrums because she had felt that same trapped rage, Anne patiently spelled words into the young girl's palm.

The iconic breakthrough happened at a garden water pump: as cold water gushed over one hand, Anne spelled "w-a-t-e-r" into the other. Helen instantly made the connection, triggering a lifelong hunger for knowledge that led her to become the first deafblind person to earn a college degree.

Anne remained by Helen's side as her teacher, companion, and voice for nearly fifty years. When Anne passed away in 1936, Helen held her hand until the end, still calling her "teacher."

It stands as one of the most remarkable stories of grit, empathy, and devotion in human history.
