CITY OF LONDON Why is the dating scene here rough?

I’ve moved from Seattle to London and man, the guys that like my dating profile and want to chat make no effort whatsoever. The number of men that post themselves on a random Tuesday in the bathroom mirror is staggering. They cant even be bothered to wash their face or comb their hair or have something to describe their likes/dislikes. Them thinking a photo is enough is depressing. In the States, handsome and communicative men will reach out to me. But it’s so different here. What am I doing wrong to attract people like this? I’ve seen very good looking men on the underground so I know you exist!

Does anyone have any good lunch/brunch recommendations?

I will be in London (King’s Cross / Old Street / City Road) for an afternoon appointment and will have some time beforehand.

Ideally somewhere casual, not too expensive, and fairly easy to get to by public transport.

just looking for somewhere decent before the appointment.

FOOD AND EATING Marugame Udon coke machines?

Did all branches get rid of their freestyle coke machines, or just a few? It's still 'listed' on their website, but there weren't any machines/drink purchase menus in the one I went to

IDEOLOGY People on other subreddits who rubbish London and what London does. Why do you think they do it? What do you think they are motivated by?

It's always confused me. Like, is it a jealousy thing? I've never been quite sure.

Cheapest pharmacies for out of pocket medication?

Hi all, I'm in west London (shepherds bush) and my prescription medication from a psychiatrist just came to 215gbp ! y

my GP isn't supposed to prescribe with share xsr until I'm stable on it for 3 months using shared care.

Should I ask my GP to prescribe it anyway ?

Barring that, can anyone recommend a pharmacy which might be lower cost ? Thanks!

Does anyone know a reputable removals firm that can safely move musical equipment?

About 10 years ago I used a specialist firm of roadies to move my music gear and synths. They were properly insured and knew how to move sensitive/valuable equipment without damaging it. Unfortunately it looks like they went bust around pandemic time. Does anyone know of a similar firm based in London? I've tried searching and asking other musicians without any luck.

How do you judge who and when to give up your seat to someone else on the Tube?

A couple who look to be approaching 70 just got on l, they look like they are very active and health conscious (wearing shorts, hiking shoes, tote bags and reusable Waitrose bags. They look healthier than I do! I’m 35M, slept 5 hours, heading to work now on my feet at a bar til 3am, repeat for next 5 days.. I still feel guilty for not offering my seat, but damn my head is throbbing..

Does anyone know of a place in Central London where I can book a cheap room for rehearsals?

My friends and I need a room to rehearse. We literally just need a room, no equipment.

We usually get together once a week on a week day (the day varies according to availability) from 7pm - 10pm. We used to be able to get a room at Theatre Deli in London Bridge for just under £50 but it’s closing down.

Any suggestions?

Any one lost a car key fob who nightve travelled at Crystal Palace Station Platform 4?

I was working on the platform 4 track at crystal palace station and found someones car key/fob in the middle of the track. Mustve been on tuesday 12th may between 06:00 and 23:45 because i wouldve noticed my previous shift and just picked them up now at 01:00 on 13th. The key looks like a bmw key fob but no emblem. DM me for your key back, must tell me a distinguishing feature. My work times dont overlap with station manager so i cant hand off to him.

Edit: handed to cleaning staff to put in lost and found.
