I’m what I would consider to be a slightly under mediocre Ana. That being said, she’s the hero I am best at lol

So my question is, would it be weird if I were to get a fancy skin or weapon while consistently getting my butt whooped as I’m playing? :p

I know it shouldn’t be that serious, but it makes me feel like some trust fund kid who goes all out with sports equipment, then goes on a losing streak at the local gym

Did the nade splash radius get smaller or did i become much worse at aiming it after the latest patch?

I've had many moments where i was certain it's gonna hit the tank but they dont get the yellow.

I feel like the hate for sierra is overblown. I think most of us have played Ana long enough to know how to utilize cover to avoid her tracking shot. For the most part, shes easy enough to deal with.

One thing I do struggle with is her ult. I feel like it detonates far too fast and there’s no way to really react to it. Is it really just about tracking her ult and good positioning or does anyone else have a good way of dealing with the ult?

Do you think she suffers in the damage department? Has more trouble surviving than before? These are some of my feelings and that she is getting left slightly behind when every new character is hyper mobile and does crazy high damage from a distance. I also do feel like her nade cooldown can be shortened by like 2 seconds or so. I know it just got buffed but let's be honest that extra self healing isn't going to do much in duels.

I just picked up OW for the first time since like 2017 when I played about two weeks of zen. I'm now looking to sweat comp w Ana (Ik, brutal) and I placed high plat but I need to know how to escape plat hell. I've watched a bunch of GM/comp Ana gameplay and feel like I'm in a good spot for just picking the game back up, but what are you Ana tips and tricks to survive mid ladder? I guess my biggest questions are:
How do you decide to "go in" and dps, like what cues tell you that you should slow down on the heals and really focus on cleanup

Sleep has a fairly short CD but spamming it gets eh value, what do you look for in a high value sleep that's not an ult?

Half my nanos are team wipes and the other half are insta dive-deaths, what's your decision making process the second your ult is charged and how do you decide when it's time to use it?

And finally as a console player w good aim and a history of high ranks in games, do I even bother trying to push rank w a true skill op rather than like kiri (my zen is pretty good but I like the underdog of Ana's kinda power-crept but still insanely good kit)

None of my friends I play with seem to be able to understand how frustrating playing against Anran is because "she isn't good" and "Genji/Shion are better and kill you faster".

It isn't about Shion/Genji being better at killing Ana than Anran. It's that to do so they have to actually be good at the game/character in any way. There is a dance and back and forth you can have while fighting Genji. If you hit your sleep on Genji/Shion in a 1v1 you can almost always kill them.

Anran is the only flanker that kills you even if you constantly assert your skill over them at every part of the engagement. You can sleep her, hit every shot, intentionally keep Biotic grenade off cooldown for when she dives to heal yourself and hit her, and still lose or burn to death after killing her.

Nothing tilts me more than that I can land a long cooldown skill shot on a flanker, hit multiple difficult to land primary fire shots, and lose the fight to someone who basically smashed their face into their keyboard and just hits all their buttons.
