Can you categorize all of the airport people mover train systems in the US?

As someone who loves both trains and planes, airport people movers fascinate me. I've been thinking of the different functions certain systems perform in their applications.

I've come up with the following categories for the people movers.

Type A: Outside of security, usually connecting terminals to parking, general transit, and/or hotels

Type B: Inside security, connecting independent terminals primarily intended for layovers

Type C: Inside security, providing access to midfield satellites from main landslide terminals. I suppose you could even break this down into subtype C1 (for a single satellite, meaning only two stops and usually dual independent tracks with one train going back and forth on each one without crossing over) and subtype C2 (for multiple midfield concourses)

Type D: Inside security, within super-long concourses to shorten walking time.

So based on this, try listing every airport in America with a people mover system that falls into each category. Wikipedia can help. As a bonus, if you know off the top of your head about any trains in foreign airports, feel free to add it.

If you have difficulty visualizing the categories, I can get you started by providing one example of each

John Wayne Airport (SNA) help

I traveled through SNA this past week. I saw an advertisement on a digital kiosk outside of Gate 2 (Delta gate). If some one travels through there can they take a picture and post here or message me with me. It was a picture of a metal heart made from pipes. I meant to take a picture but got distracted.

Terminals Impact of background music in airport environments (Academic)

My friend is doing her Masters dissertation in travel and tourism and is running a research project as part of it on the impact of background music in the airport environment. The survey takes five minutes and is anonymous. If you are able to fill it out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Flying with temp ID

Hi, I’m flying out of Ohare to Florida this weekend and only have my temporary license. They unfortunately discarded my expired real ID, and my new ID was mailed Monday but I doubt I’ll get it by Saturday. I’m nervous about flying now and am wondering if I’ll need to cancel my trip. My plan was bringing my temp, old school ID, credit cards, mail addressed to my house, a copy of my birth certificate and I did the verify ID $45 dollar fee. Do you think that’s enough or should I cancel my trip

New belt held at Luton Airport

Hi! I’m not sure if i can post this here, but i’ll try cause idk where else.
I went on holiday to England last week with my boyfriend and family, he bought a nice leather belt with a buckle resembling bullets there. I’m aware we should’ve thought about if it was possible taking back home, but it just didn’t cross our minds at that time.
At the airport my bf got stopped and they took his belt, telling us he can’t take it with him because of the ‘bullets’. I understood it’s just protocol they have to follow even though anyone can see you can’t actually hurt anyone with it.
The man asked us if we were planning on coming back and if not, where we were going. Since we were not coming back he gave us a ticket with a QR code, telling us we could scan it and have it shipped to us, that the problem was only that he couldn’t have the belt on him on the plane, but it can be sent back because he’d have no control over it then.
I scanned the code today, as he advised us to wait a couple of days, and now the code is saying that it’s a ‘very dangerous’ item and can only be picked up at Luton Airport.
Is there anything we can do? We would’ve tried to find another way if he didn’t tell us it could be shipped to us. Boyfriend’s pretty upset as he had been looking for a good belt for a while and it was quite expensive too. Should we just give up?

Other AIRSPACE - The daily flight puzzle ecosystem

Built a free daily flight puzzle for aviation & geography nerds ✈️🌍

Hey everyone! I'm the creator of Airspace, a free daily game where you identify airport locations and recreate the flight path between them. Think Wordle/GeoGuessr vibes, but for aviation.

I also recently launched FlightPath, another game in the same ecosystem with a different spin on testing your aviation knowledge.

I originally built these because I couldn't find a daily aviation game that scratched the same itch as Wordle or GeoGuessr, so I decided to make one myself.

I'd genuinely love feedback from this community—whether it's gameplay, UI, difficulty, or ideas for future features. I'm constantly updating it based on what players suggest.

Check it out if it sounds interesting:

Thanks, and I'd love to hear what you think!

Flying from UK to Milan LIN, then Berlin

Hi! Hearing horror stories about the EES… does anyone have experience as a non EU passport holder flying:
- into Milan Linate from outside the EU
- out of Milan Linate to another EU country

What should we be expecting in terms of wait times?
Thank you!

Terminals Does your bag really need that seat??

People are sitting on the floor - mothers, children, old people - but every second seat in the boarding area is taken by a bag. JC, people, get some manners and/or some class.

Lightning Truck?

Currently stuck on tarmac at PHL due to lightning in the area. Captain just said that there is only one "lightning truck" at the airport and they are coming to rescue us, what does that mean?

Some sort of escort vehicle?

Why wouldn't this be any rescue vehicle, is there specific gear/qualifications for this and what would that be?
