Education YSK: Taylor Farms Iceberg Lettuce is sold under many different names

Why YSK, Taylor Farms sells their iceberg lettuce to many food stores using different names and you don’t need explosive diarrhea.

Here are some of the different names and stores that sell Taylor Farms iceberg lettuce

Earthbound - Taylor Farms

365 - Whole Foods

Simple Truth - Kroger/Fred Meyer

O-Organics and Signature Select brands - Safeway/Carrs

Agreed. I trust HEB so much for quality and I'm glad I've been too busy to shop lately or I would have refilled salad ingredients!

Because it’s not recalled. Supposedly only iceberg lettuce was affected.

Take the number of products in the field (A) and multiply it by the probable rate of injury/death (B), then multiply the result by the average cost of an out-of-court settlement (C). A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, they don't do one.

Right now its just the iceberg, so if it doesn't have any iceberg lettuce in it you should be ok.

I keep hearing it's only iceberg and I also keep hearing they aren't really sure. Taylor farms lettuce tested positive, then it didn't.

It would be nice to have a functioning and competent FDA so we could trust them to investigate.

Yeah, I'm avoiding any lettuce grown by Taylor Farms right now out of an abundance of caution. As I mentioned in another comment, I get my greens from Gotham Greens and haven't had any issues.

Taylor farms lettuce tested positive, then it didn't.

They've tested multiple kinds of lettuce multiple times. One of those tests was a false positive but not all of the tests were.

If you trust the word of Taylor Farms. I would avoid all lettuce unless it's sourced locally or grown in your garden,

I work at Target and picked up some lettuce for a drive up order. I was thinking "buddy's playing with fire here but who am I to judge"

I bought a few bags of shredded iceberg from Walmart three days ago too. knock on wood but no diarrhea yet lol

If you "just" bought it, you should be fine. The people infected were infected starting in early May. By now entire other crops of lettuce have been grown and harvested.
