Listening to his town halls kills me. They let Fox News parrots ask rambling questions based entirely in disinformation, then he goes through every tangent he has with a bunch of his own disinformation.
What’s the democrats name for his seat this year?

Experience w/ local non-profit agencies?

Hey all. I have recently been legally mandated to complete 40 hours of community service, and I am only allowed to complete my hours at TWO agencies.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations based off personal experience. I am specifically looking for agencies that are non-religious and queer-friendly.

Does anyone know of a plywood supplier??

I am looking for a plywood supplier that would sell to an individual other than going to the big box stores. I know they have way more options and normally a bit cheaper for better quality. So just wondering if anyone is aware of any around here.

Recommended Roofers

I am looking to get a new roof and hoping to get some recommendations for someone who would do a good job at a reasonable price. Any suggestions are appreciated. I am fairly new to the area. Thanks.

Black and White dog found.

This sweet boy was found yesterday around 5pm on Rosevelt. He’s really behaved, but not neutered and kinda roughly shaved.

If anyone could tell the owners to pm me that would be great! Id hate to have to take him to a shelter as I have too many rescues myself.

No Chip
Took a good bath

How to get rid of couch

I have a bed couch that I'm looking to get rid of. I'm thinking of posting it on Facebook marketplace to get some cash for it or just throwing it out but I don't have a truck so I'd there a way to throw it out? Can the trash guys take it?

Currently playing with some dogs in parking area/alley behind the 30 block of e princess st (pretty much on court at between hope ave and e princess). Called non emergency line, but they’re apparently caught up with more pressing stuff. I had to go because I’m currently working!!

Anyone missing a dog? Any help anyone can offer?

For people who eat a lot of sushi in York Co. what is your absolute favorite spot. Without considering cost that is. Just the best restaurant you’ve had amazing sushi in

Random people at front door

Okay had to share but is it common for random people to be showing up at your front door 😅. Use to live in North York would have solicitors all the time and a few times random people too (not from any companies). I hated it, made me feel so weird and on edge of who was standing outside my door.

Moved near Queensgate area and had the same thing happen today. Some random man from no company wearing ordinary clothes comes knocking on my door and tried to open it….. Then walked away.

I guess I am not use to this - where I am originally from people show up at your front door if you are expecting them or if you know them 😂.

Cat found

Post image
17 Upvotes

Good evening, my name is Josh and I live in Mount Wolf

Yesterday morning, a cat was caught in a trap on the farm where I live and he is currently in the care of my wife and I. I have tried with Finding Toby and rescues to no avail. I recognize stray cats are common, but I’m of the belief that this guy was dumped off by someone because while he’s very long and tall, he’s very skinny, and I don’t believe he would do well as a T&R cat. He also isn’t fixed. He hasn’t shown any signs of aggression toward me or my wife, in fact he’s been super friendly so he’s not feral.

If anyone might be familiar with him, please let me know. I want to hopefully find him a home or his home (if there is one)

Meetup on Saturday: let's talk about how volunteering to help Dems win the midterms can be better AND more effective (national organizers from Swing Left in town)

I'm the national organizing director of Swing Left and I hear from volunteers from all over the country about how frustrated they are with the way campaigns treat volunteers AND voters. It all feels transactional and ineffective.

After the brutal loss in 2024, my team and I have been working to build something different. With tons of input and feedback from volunteer leaders across the country, we built Ground Truth, which changes everything about how we talk to voters.

Come talk about it with Caroline and Tenzin from our organizing team, who are hosting a meetup on Saturday at noon in central York.

DM me if you're interested and I'll send you the address!

The rain on the fourth must have really hurt their forecasted budget. Driving 30 toward Lancaster and they have a trooper at every possible emergency pull off with radar.

Xfinity internet still out

Is anyone in the Central York area still having issues affecting their internet? We had a complete outage Tuesday, a tech came out and messed with the neighbors to the left and right of us. Then left. We’ve had off and on internet ever since.

Book Donations

Hello! I am a local therapist in York and I am working on growing a small library of books that I can have available to lend to my clients.

I recommend reading often to support the work we are doing in session and financially that isn’t feasible for some people right now, so I would like to be able to have more physical books on hand to lend. I am also semi-new to this career (and new to York) and while I have a lot of books of hand already, my wishlist is far beyond my means at the moment.

If anyone here has any books that have been helpful for them in self growth or healing and they are willing to part with it I would love to take it off your hands! Some specific ones on my list that I have a current need for, but this is by no means my entire list:

The Deepest Well by Nadine Burke Harris
What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo
How to Keep House While Drowning by KC Davis
Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski
Burnout by Emily Nagoski
Fawning by Ingrid Clayton
In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts by Gabor Mate
Know My Name by Chanel Miller
Anything by Julie and/or John Gottman
