Anyone live at 1085 Warburton Ave (Greystone) in Yonkers? Looking for honest pros/cons before buying.

I’m looking for a 2- or 3-bedroom apartment in Woodlawn, Bronx, or just over the line near McLean Avenue in Yonkers.
My ideal apartment would have:
Lots of natural light
First or second floor (not a basement)
Walking distance to the Woodlawn Metro-North station
Outdoor space (porch, deck, or yard) is a bonus
No broker fee if possible
Budget around $2,500–$3,000/month
I’m a responsible working professional looking for a long-term rental. If anyone knows of an apartment that isn’t listed online yet, or has a local landlord looking for good tenants, I’d really appreciate any leads.

I just published a story about the noise ordinance in the Hudson Valley Digger. I'm wondering what Yonkers residents think about the very high noise limit.

Can any residents comment on the sound insulation in walls and ceilings? Any roach or rodent problems?

It seems every year I am seeing legacy trees in my neighborhood in Yonkers getting cut down for virtually no good reason.

Why doesn’t Yonkers have any tree protection laws to guarantee someone can’t buy a how and immediately have a heritage/generational tree chopped down? It is truly a shame to see a strong, healthy 100+ year old white oak tree be chopped to the ground without a need for a permit.

What’s the deal with this intersection being closed off on like a weekly basis for what seems to be some kind of drainage issue. Is there no actual solution to this? This has been going on for like a year.

When the noise ordinance changed, I thought it was strange, and after all these years, it just turned out to be a rift between two neighbors that sparked this all.

2 friends are coming in for a watch party at 2 pm, and the game is at 8 pm, looking at transportation options. They are not very comfortable on subway, but i see there is the new link to LIRR from GCT. Does LIRR have trains ready when the game gets out?

Would driving and prepaying for a parking space be easier? How will traffic be early for the watch game and leaving?

There was a teen boy around 14 to 15 years old going crazy on mclean at around 3 to 5 am did anyone else see this? everyone was drunk and he was running in the street and a lot happened

Hey everyone. I'm in a really rough spot right now and could use some advice.

I'm currently homeless, living in a shelter and my HP Victus laptop is one of the only valuable things I have. A few days ago, I bought a bottle of shampoo, put it in my backpack, and due to a faulty cap, it leaked everywhere overnight. My backpack was soaked, including where my laptop was. The laptop didn't seem completely drenched, so I cleaned everything up and hoped it was okay.

Today I tried turning it on and it's completely dead. No lights, no fan, no charging indicator, nothing.

I have very little money, so I'm looking for any place in NYC that can either:

- Do a free or very cheap diagnosis.

- Repair liquid-damaged laptops for as little as possible.

- Or if anyone knows an individual or hobbyist who does board-level/laptop repair for cheap.

I'm in Harlem but I'm willing to travel anywhere within a few hundred miles if it means I have a better chance of getting it fixed. I really need it for my HRA, among other things, so I just want my laptop working again if it's possible.

If anyone has recommendations for trustworthy repair shops, volunteers, nonprofits, or people who repair laptops on the side, I'd really appreciate it.

Any good outdoor courts in the Yonkers/hastings area? Just moved on warburton and can’t find any good parks. Are there any courts with lights that people usually go to?
