Restatement of community rules

Please follow the subreddit rules.

This isn’t a general post infertility subreddit - it’s a resource for what worked, what didn’t work, and comments about the same.

You’re all welcome here in the community but please make sure posts follow the rules.

I’ve been somewhat lenient because I know too well how much we need community as we go through this trying experience, but I’ll start locking and removing posts more aggressively if the posters don’t start following the WWFM rules more closely.

No solicitations or research requests permitted.

I’ve politely refused multiple times from various users who are requesting to do research on those of us who are going through infertility. Recent posting by a particularly brash research solicitor who didn’t ask permission has led me to this post.

This is NOT the place for you to gather human subjects. It’s a place of discussion and sharing what works.

I will remove any future postings of the sort that was posted today.

I’ve also banned the user for failure to exhibit common decency and follow the rules of the subreddit.

TW: Multiple Chemical Pregnancies

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 8 months. We got pregnant in May but it ended up being at chemical, same thing happened in June. I’m so scared to try again and get our hearts broken again :( can you please share some successful stories where you had multiple chemicals and went on to have a LC? Next cycle i’m trying progesterone, currently taking this month as a break, my body has been through a lot also we don’t want to try again until we get the progesterone even though we are aware that it could not save us from having another chemical but we just want to cover our bases. Did any of you try progesterone after multiple chemicals? Did it help? They are also testing for a clotting problem so we’ll see!

What Foods to eat - history of 3 bio chemical losses / going for 1st IUI soon 🤞🏽

What supplements are you taking other than pre natal ? Any specific foods are you eating before IUI until ovulation?

I am taking nature’s made prenatal with folic acid omega 3’s DHA + EPA
Also tried Ritual prenatal but felt lot of constipation so stopped
I take 400-600mg CoQ10 ( my husband does too )
I take Ritual’s Natal choline 200mg after ovulation until possible pregnancy and would like to continue if pregnancy progresses.

From this cycle - husband started his omega 3’s as well

We are mostly eating plant based diet and Whole Foods instead of processed or packaged foods.

Some of the foods we are eating are ⬇️
Almonds walnuts pecans
Pumpkin seeds / sunflower seeds / flax seeds
Eggs
Oats
chia seeds
ginger / turmeric black pepper in foods
Yogurt
Lentils
Fruits , leafy vegetables
Kiwi pomegranate berries

**Thank you for your time and support** 💗🙏

Our 2-year TTC journey finally has a happy ending ❤️

Well, guys and gals, I wanted to share my success story because reading posts like these gave me hope when we were trying.

Looking back, we “only” tried for about two years. I know that’s not a very long time compared to what some couples go through, but when you’re living it, it feels like forever.

Month after month, nothing happened, while it seemed like all of our friends got pregnant after one try. It was heartbreaking.

Eventually, we decided it was time to see doctors and get everything checked.

It turned out we actually did have an issue. Everything looked normal on my side, but my husband had a low sperm count. We were told to repeat the test in six months and, in the meantime, take vitamins, eat healthier, and “try not to stress.”

Honestly… how are you supposed to *not* stress when you’re desperately trying to conceive? It felt impossible.

We also found a doctor who specialized in male fertility. His advice was simple: no saunas, no hot baths, spend less time sitting in the office and be more physically active, keep taking vitamins, and time intercourse for about 3–4 days before ovulation.

Around that time, we also made a big life change, we moved from a busy city to the seaside. Looking back, I think that made the biggest difference. Within 2–3 months we both felt so much more relaxed.

Five months later, I got pregnant. Sadly, that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. It was devastating.

But just one month later, I was pregnant again.

And today, I’m writing this with our beautiful baby in my arms.

If you’re still trying, don’t lose hope. I know how lonely and endless it can feel, but things really can change when you least expect them. Wishing everyone here the very best on their journey. ❤️

MRI confirmed adenomyosis (JZ 17.3mm)- looking for fertility experiences and success stories

\

Hi everyone,

I'm 29 and currently TTC baby #2. I have a previous live birth and have also had previous miscarriages. I'm trying to understand what my MRI findings actually mean for fertility, particularly the junctional zone measurement.

MRI findings:

Anteverted uterus

Endometrium 8.6 mm

Junctional zone measures up to 17.3 mm

Radiologist's conclusion: Adenomyosis

Both ovaries unremarkable

No fibroids mentioned

No pelvic masses mentioned

Ultrasound findings (prior to MRI):

Moderate diffuse adenomyosis

Bulky uterus

Fan-shaped shadowing

Small myometrial cysts

Normal endometrial cavity (7 mm, triple-line)

Normal ovaries

No ultrasound evidence of endometriosis

Previous history:

Age 29

Previous successful natural pregnancy/live birth

Previous recurrent miscarriages

Laparoscopy with dye test in 2021 showed bilateral tubal spill and no endometriosis

Ovulating normally on monitoring scans

BMI around 35 (previously \\\~43 and have lost a significant amount of weight)

HSG planned

My specialist has recommended progesterone support when trying to conceive.

My biggest concern is the 17.3 mm junctional zone. Most of what I've read suggests that >12 mm supports the diagnosis of adenomyosis, and thicker junctional zones may be associated with lower implantation and live birth rates, but most of the studies seem to be in IVF patients rather than women trying naturally.

I'm trying to understand:

Has anyone conceived naturally with a junctional zone this thick?

Did anyone have recurrent miscarriage with adenomyosis but go on to have a successful pregnancy?

Did progesterone seem to help?

Did anyone's specialist comment on how much a JZ around 17 mm actually affects fertility?

I know nobody can predict individual outcomes, but I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with similar MRI findings, especially if you've gone on to have a successful pregnancy.

Thanks in advance ❤️

Letrozole worked

Wanted to share my Letrozole success story - as it was a long one. From the beginning I was on 5 MG- took Letrozole 5 total times back to back cycles with progesterone inserts/trigger shot. The third cycle I got pregnant but resulted in a blighted ovum miscarriage. On the fifth cycle, I was about to start IUI since nothing else was working, but right before IUI was planned they took my bloodwork and my estrogen was not at a good level for a mature follicle (had one mature follicle) so we decided to skip IUI and try for another cycle. To my happy news, that fifth cycle worked! (No trigger shot!!!! Or progesterone inserts) woohoo! Took several blood draws to make sure my progesterone level was good and it was great within the inserts. Don’t let hormones define you:)

FIRST IUI

Hi,

31F, TTC 18 months. All tests came as normal including HSG.

I had LEEP background in 2019. Since then, negatif hpv, STI, BV. But my smear shows extensive inflammatory reaction. Doctor says it’s ok as no abnormal bleeding, smell or discharge. I have a little bit redness on my cervix since LEEP.

I had my firat IUI today.

* 4 mature eggs
* Pre-wash 80 million sperm / After-wash 35 million
* Lining was good.

I’m starting progestrone tomorrow and scheduled an appointment on 4th of august for blood test. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Anyone had successfull IUI with similar background ? Need support 💕

Letrozole, Trigger Shot, IUI

For context: my partner and I have been TTC for about 8 months. I’ve had two chemical pregnancies- one at 3 months TTC and another at 5 months TTC. My partner has had a sperm analysis and all of his metrics came back fantastic. My cycles have always been regular and I do ovulate on my own, just have issues releasing mature eggs due to PCOS. I just finished my third round of Letrozole- first was at 2.5mg, second at 5mg, and this last round was 7.5mg. I also do progesterone suppositories from CD 6-12. I use Inito to track my cycles and ovulation is always confirmed. I had an HSG a couple of weeks ago and my left tube was partially blocked but they were able to flush it. Right tube is totally open.

Ok, so here are my questions:
1. Should I try ultrasound monitoring to see if my follicles are fully maturing before egg release?
2. Is there any reason for me to do a trigger shot if I have always ovulated on my own?
3. How many more cycles of Letrozole should I try before moving to IUI?
4. Would IUI even be worth it if my partner’s SA came back totally normal?

13 cycles down

I just finished my 13th unsuccessful cycle ttc #1. Two chemical pregnancies during those 13 cycles. I just turned 36, husband is 41, we’ve done the whole gauntlet of tests and all looks normal: 2.92 AMH, normal hormone levels in bloodwork, HSG looked great, semen analysis looked great, ultrasounds looked perfect.. I‘ve done two cycles taking letrozole 2.5mg and one taking 5mg, though I don’t think that ovulation is the issue, since I’ve always ovulated normally. I’m working with a great doctor who’s been very helpful, but she hasn’t been able to identify a root cause for our infertility.

I’m sure there will be those who advocate for IVF and we may end up there eventually, but as of right now I’m hesitant to commit to something so expensive. Our insurance has no fertility coverage, and we are not high earners.

It’s the same story I’m sure you’ve all seen a hundred times on these threads, but I’m feeling deeply frustrated today and would love to read some hopeful comments. Is there anyone out there who conceived naturally after their first year of trying? Was there anything that you felt helped your chances? How did you keep from going insane in the meantime?

Can we still conceive naturally with these semen analysis results?

Hi everyone,

My wife and I have been trying to conceive, and I'd really appreciate some feedback from people who conceived naturally with similar semen analysis results.

Here are my results:

Sperm concentration: 46 million/mL

Total sperm count: 138 million/ejaculate

Total motility: 56%

Progressive motility: 41%

Rapidly progressive: 9%

Slowly progressive: 32%

Non-progressive motility: 15%

Immotile: 44%

Normal morphology: 4%

Motile sperm concentration: 26 million/mL

Progressive motile sperm concentration: 18.5 million/mL

Rapid progressive motile sperm concentration: 3.9 million/mL

Slow progressive motile sperm concentration: 14.6 million/mL

Functional sperm concentration: 1.9 million/mL

Velocity (VCL): 31 µm/sec

Sperm Motility Index (SMI): 101

Totals per ejaculate:

Total sperm: 138 million

Motile sperm: 78 million

Progressive motile sperm: 55.5 million

Functional sperm: 5.7 million

Morphologically normal sperm: 5.5 million

My question: Based on these results, is natural conception still realistic if my wife's fertility tests are normal? Has anyone conceived naturally with similar motility and 4% morphology? I'd love to hear your experiences.

Thank you!

Any success post hyfosy?

I just had my hyfosy done today - it was a bit uncomfortable but similar to when I had the coil fitted. Good news is tubes are all clear 🥳

We're going to give it another couple of cycles before we go ahead with IVF. Does anyone have any success stories or otherwise post Hyfosy / Hycosy / HSG?

INFLAMMATION TTC

Hi,
I have been TTC for 17 months now. All of our fertility tests, including my husband's, have come back normal, so we are currently in the 'unexplained infertility' category.
I had a LEEP procedure done in 2019. Since then, my HPV tests have been clear, and all tests for BV, STDs, etc., have come back negative. However, my smear tests consistently show 'extensive inflammation' (with no malignancy). My doctor tells me not to worry, but I’ve started to wonder if this chronic inflammation might be preventing conception, perhaps by affecting sperm motility or creating a hostile environment at the cervix.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciate

PCOS with possible inflammation issues

my wife (35) and I (34) have been trying for 11 months for #2. #1 was conceived with no issues on our third IUI. we started with IUI this time around and had a chemical followed by a miscarriage. we just had our first fresh transfer that resulted in another chemical. I’m gearing up for my frozen transfer and added in levothyroxine, lovenox and Claritin/pepcid. I’m just so scared there’s a larger underlying reason for my issues. anyone with similar stories that had success after a chemical with their first transfer? I’ve already planned that I will take a break and explore endometriosis as well as endometritis if this transfer doesn’t work. just so scared to continue failing :(

Rainbow baby after 2MC and adeno diagnosis

Hi team,

I now have 2 LC. Here’s what worked for me.

I had to completely cut out soya and gluten. I followed napro fertility guidance. I also cut back on heavy cardio. I took myo inisitol, coq 10, NAC and wild nutrition prenatal. It took me ten cycles to get pregnant after my miscarriages.

During this time, I was diagnosed with diffuse adenomyosis. I thought it was game over for me. It wasn’t. With supplemental progesterone at the start of my pregnancy, I actually went overdue.

I really, really strongly encourage people to lock in on diet. I lost 40 lbs between losing my boy and getting successfully pregnant. It made all the difference.

Secondary Infertility TTC for 1 year success story.

I'll start at the start. I fell pregnant accidently with my first child at the very beginning of 2024. Son arrived in September and all was well.

When he turned 6 months my husband and I started trying for baby #2 even though I was breastfeeding and my period had not yet returned, we gave it a go. No luck. My period returned 10 months pp in June 2025. Because we concieved baby #1 effortlessly, we didn't expect any issues.

So I started tracking and following my EWCM but no go, cycle after cycle. I started taking iron, vitamin D, folic acid, magnesium, omega 3 and vitamin B12. My lutel phase was regularly 9 days and I was trying to lengthen it. (no luck)

In May 2026 my husband had a semen analysis. No major issues flagged, just 1% morphology. I got myself added to the NHS fertility waitlist.

Orgionally, I was very annoyed and upset each month when my period arrived but somehow managed to relax a little in recent months. I realised the only thing I could control was well timed sex. If we managed that each cycle I was usually happy enough. Not to say I didn't spend many hours fretting about possible age gaps etc and crying is frustration and the unexplained nature of it all.

So this month, same as every month I convinced myself there's a good chance I'm pregnant, but I dont like early testing. I was having cramps and period was due, but no blood. The cramps kept coming but still no blood. So I took a premom pregnancy test and no line, or the faintest line you ever did see. Convinced myself it was nothing (10DPO). The next day I hold off as long as I could. My lutel phase is never this long and I remember this camping from my first pregnancy. I took a clear blue early detection test at 11DPO and it said pregnant. I was quite taken aback but delighted. I had thought of so many scenarios this past year of how I'd tell my husband if we got pregnant again but in the end I walked straight over to him with the test seconds after seeing it myself. meh

This is just to say, when I was in the depths of worrying and researching, the long unsuccessful stories always stuck with me and would worsen my anxiety. So I though I'd share my experience with secondary infertility.

I'm a 35 yo who did nothing different the cycle she conceived. Actually that's a lie, we baby danced two days in a row over my ovulation dates which we'd never managed to do before. But who knows.

Good luck and baby dust to all!

P.S It's still super early days. Hoping for an uneventful, healthy pregnancy 🙏

New medication trial

Has anyone been prescribed methylPREDNISolone 4mg a day as a last resort after multiple miscarriages?
I finally got it today and I’m hoping that it is the missing key. I have an autoimmune disease but no one has taken it seriously until today after 7 failed pregnancies ❤️
Just looking for success stories!

Salpingectomy Recovery and Fertility

Hi all. I (31F) and my husband (33M) have been trying to conceive for around 9 months without success, including two medicated TI cycles. We were able to see an RE sooner because of my history—I had an open myomectomy for a subserosal fibroid in January 2025. Back in December of 2025, they did a saline sonogram which suggested a hydrosalpinx on the right (left was fine), but at the time my RE seemed relatively unconcerned because during my previous surgery, they visualized both tubes and they appeared normal. So, he suggested we keep trying. I brought up HSG and he seemed to be of the mind that we can keep trying for a bit and then if unsuccessful do the HSG. Well, we’re at July and still nothing (but I am several thousand dollars poorer after paying for the two failed cycles). I finally asked to do an HSG and in the same cycle and IUI. during my baseline today the US technician casually said she could still visualize what appeared to be a hydro on the right and that I would probably need IVF. I was devastated to say the least. My HSG is in a few days. (Why wasn’t HSG suggested before attempting all this? Who can say.)

I’m convinced I will need a salpingectomy to remove the tube to have any chance of ever having children. My husband is really scared; he was nervous about the last surgery too. Does anyone have any stories of recovery post tube removal and potentially success with conceiving afterwards? This has been a horrible time for us and just trying to look for some light. <3

4th IUI failed - looking for advice before my August cycle

Hi everyone,

I just got the call today that my 4th IUI was unsuccessful, and I’m feeling pretty defeated.

Here’s my history:
IUI #1: Natural cycle → Chemical pregnancy
IUI #2: Natural cycle → Negative
IUI #3: Clomid cycle → Negative
IUI #4: New donor + progesterone after IUI → Negative
My clinic has told me that everything on my end looks good. After my first three IUIs, they thought the original donor may have been contributing to the lack of success, so my fiancée and I switched to a new donor for this cycle. (i’m in a relationship with a woman for context)

One thing that worried me was the post-wash motility, but my nurse told me that lower motility after thawing frozen donor sperm is common and expected, and that my doctor isn’t concerned that it’s the reason this cycle failed.

They’re now recommending that I consider injectable medications for my August cycle.

While my clinic is closed for the next couple of weeks, I’d love to hear from people who were in a similar situation.
Did anyone have success after 4+ IUIs?

Did switching from Clomid to injectables make a difference?

Did you do anything between cycles that you feel helped (diet, exercise, supplements, acupuncture, naturopath, etc.)?

Is there anything you wish you’d asked before starting injectables?

I know there’s no magic trick, but I’d love to hear what helped you physically or mentally before your successful cycle.

Thanks so much. ❤️

TW: one living child, MC. Advice needed from severely low AMH results

The novel:

got my test results the day after my 39th birthday ( less than .03 amh)

I have one daughter who is 18 months old. I promised myself I would not take a second for granted and truly know how blessed I am. Became pregnant August 30th. First appt I was told either my due date was wrong or something was off. (At this time my periods were irregular which I chalked up to being pp. I was also eager to start trying as I was determined to have as many kids as I possibly could because I wasn’t able to start my ttc journey earlier.)

The doctor I went to was reputable, but had her own practice and don’t have much time for my questions. I believe one time she answered saying “ why are you calling?” I should have known when my intake was her saying “ the only problem is you’re old.”

When the miscarriage was diagnosed, I asked for both a D&C and an ultrasound to follow. She told me to wait two weeks to see if it will happen naturally ( there was a hematoma) and that a d and c wasn’t necessary. Two weeks later nothing happened and I took medication- the sac was passed ( on Halloween mind you. Very scary ha. ) and I bleed throughout the month. I asked if I needed an ultrasound and she said no. She said to continue to get my blood drawn as HCG takes a while to go down. Well it went down throughout the weeks but not by much and she kept telling me to do this. I ended up switching to a different doctor in December and had a d and c from infected retained product on January 14th. ( a day after my daughters first bday) From late August to January 14th this was finally over.

Since the dnc my cycles have been off but we started ttc a full cycle after the dnc. After a few months I noticed that my body was trying to ovulate twice or something like this. Had 26 days and then 40 days. Mind you this has only been since February. I did experience some night sweats but also had that when I was pp from my first pregnancy.

After my past year, I decided to be super proactive. I got an appt at a new Obgyn ( just moved to our first home in a different area- stressful) and got an appt at a fertility clinic. I haven’t had my period yet to do FSH, HSG, and AFC so I only know my TSH ( normal) and my amh ( which came back less than .03) I was devastated. Devastated. Not going to lie, it was my worst fear and it was a surreal week.

Since the test results I cut out caf/ alcohol/ gluten/ processed foods and started weaning off my Lexipro and adhd medication. Added all of the supplements I’ve read about ( my vitamin D was fine but I just started taking it in May- a month before the test) I’m looking into a second opinion/ third opinion, looking for an RI, looking into acupuncture, a therapist. Do I need to worry about heat exposure? my job is outside and very active.)

I also was thinking of getting tests done in case of an autoimmune ( my family has a lot of it). should I ask for an antibiotic for possible endo?

I am happy to do any fertility treatments and am very worried they will tell me I have no chance…

Could be missing anything? I think I’m scared of a doctor having the wrong protocol and wasting even more time/ chances. I want to come in insanely prepared and also be able to rule out any options that could be a problem ( What testing? I have a list but want to make sure I’m not missing anything.)

Lastly, of course, we are ttc naturally while going through this process.

Thank you, sisterhood.

7w pregnant!

I was diagnosed with PCOS in Oct 2024, and have been trying ever since. I took metformin, inositol, coq10, vit d3 and folic acid but was never really consistent at first (metformin made me super duper nauseous the first 3 months and everything was just overwhelming, it was draining me physically and mentally). Last year I got my tubes checked by Hyfosy and did 2 cycles of letrozole but failed.
My husband also did sperm analysis and his results were teratozoospermia, with only 2% normal morphology. So he started taking bio selenium and Tongkat Ali extract.
After failing both cycles of letrozole, we both decided to take a break, this was last year May. Until March this year, i decided to start consuming inositol again to regulate my period because i noticed that its the only thing that helped me to get my period naturally. I decided that if i get my period 3 months straight, im gonna start my treatments again.
So we both started taking the same supplements again everyday for 3 months. After 3 months, my husband’s sperm morphology became 9% normal! which is a hugeeeeee difference than last time and we were so happy about it since he is quite a heavy smoker.
I also decided to do one more cycle of letrozole (this time my doctor increased my dose to 7.5mg), and finally! at the end of my TWW, i tested positive 🫶🏻
im just sharing what worked for me. i hope this post helps someone who’s TTC💓

Feeling defeated with unexplained fertility issues

would like some thoughts, stories, recs, or anything! fertility journey has been rough and unsure of where to go from here

2020- naturally pregnant but had a chemical pregnancy

2021- 3 failed IUIs, 1 ER, 1 failed PGT tested FET, 1 resulted in a live birth!

2022- had my first bb girl!

2024- 1 more natural chemical pregnancy, 2 failed PGT tested FET

2025- 1 ER, 1 failed PGT tested FET

2026- 1 FET miscarried at week 7, 1 failed PGT tested FET

ive done every test—ERA, blood work, hysterocopy and results are normal. I even get my periods regularly. doc recommends a combo of steroids and hormones for next one and maybe even doing surgery to see if I have silent endo. she said nothing is for sure nor highly proven so it feels like a catch all and unsure if I want to put more hormones/meds in my body if its not going to help.

i dont know what to so next and have one more embryo left…has anyone been through this? any advice??

Has anyone gotten pregnant with mild Hashimoto’s without being on meds for it?

Hi everyone! After 2.5 years of infertility, I got naturally pregnant with twins in Dec 2025. I’ve done an hsg, hycosy (tubes were open), hysteroscopy with biopsy (results were negative), I repeat blood tests every 2 months and all have been optimal for conception (ex tsh, ferritin, crp, insulin, glucose fasting, day 3 lh and fsh and estrogen, 7dpo progesterone etc). I’m on alll the supplements for ttc and so is my husband. He’s done 5 semen Anaylsis with the last one being incredible. So not an issue with him.

I miscarried in January at 8 weeks and it either activated mild hashimotos or I got hashimotos from the miscarriage. But I was dealing with unusual weight gain for months, low mood, cold hands and feet, gum inflammation, hair loss. Everything has calmed down now except for the cold feet! I’ve started acupuncture for better blood flow and stress reliever.

I know they say to cut out gluten, alcohol, caffeine, refined sugar, and inflammatory foods to bring down Hashimoto’s but I’ve been doing all that for 2 years now. Anyone with Hashimoto’s and ttc have any advice on what’s worked for you to control your Hashimoto’s and were you able to get pregnant again while not going on medication for Hashimoto’s??
