I’m not really a lace girl but I had this tried on just in case and absolutely loved it. However, my first pic is the other dress with a slight alteration to make the waist line higher like it’s pinned on the left side of the dress.
Which one suits me better?
I need outside opinion because my closed ones are saying I’m not a lace kind of girl and that is messing with my decision.

Six dress appointments later & I FINALLY said yes! One word of advice, don’t be picky and don’t feel bad for wanting to be 100% sure! This dress was at my second to last dress try on appointment & at my final with another store I felt so defeated and the stylist noticed & said I think we need to stop and you need to go try on your favorites in the back of your mind & she was so right. Trying This one on a second time solidified the “this is the one feeling”! Best of luck to all you beautiful brides also in the process of finding the perfect dress!🤍

I found the dress that immediately made me feel beautiful. I’m not the most confident person, I have always struggled with my body image. I was dreading the dress appointment(I hate trying on clothes) because I initially didn’t know what I wanted and thought nothing would look as good as it looked in other bodies/models. To give some context I’m 5’6, I’m currently at 176lb(hoping to lose 20lb), and I’m a 36DD(one of my biggest insecurities), I don’t have a lot going on back there. All in all, I initially didn’t want to look at ball gowns because I thought they would make me look bigger, but when I tell I hated every other silhouette…. My super fashionable and amazing sister suggested I tried on a couple of ball gowns. Surprisingly the sample dress was my size so I actually got to see how my dress my dress would fit, I LOVE everything about it. Now, I’m not exactly sure what kind of shoes, veil and accessories I should wear so if you have any suggestions I would appreciate it!

I did somewhat extensive alterations, the most expensive being removing a top layer of tulle that was covering up the gorgeous lace of the skirt. I was told this was a somewhat labor-intensive alteration because it involved removing and re-sewing a bunch of appliqués and buttons. I also used the tulle to add the off the shoulder sleeves.

I had some push-back from my family, but I had a very clear vision that my seamstress executed perfectly. I can’t stop smiling every time I look at our pictures!

I just have to share my excitement!!! I am so obsessed. I’m considering adding to the neckline to make it more of a cat eye, which the lady at my appointment said is possible.

Stuck between two dresses - getting married outdoors close to a lake.

When I first tried on the 2nd dress (by myself) I had reservations about the seam just bc it was different. The 2nd time I tried it on, I actually really loved it and loved how it was clean and structured but still provided that flow for an outdoor wedding. When I showed my family, they didn’t love the seam above the trumpet and didn’t think it was the one.

The first dress I also loved when I tried on, but unsure if it pulls more city.

I’d also be open to suggestions - I love clean, structured, and fitted looks particularly in mikado or other fabric that give off some sheen

I bought this dress yesterday because I loved how it hugged my figure and all subtle detailing on it. It was actually my first ever time going dress shopping and I did it on a whim (wedding isn’t until next September), so I haven’t tried anything else except the other dresses I tried on the day. I love the dress and feel so beautiful in it but the downside of the crepe fabric is that it clings to ALL curves and I don’t love how my stomach area looks. I can’t help but wonder if I should have looked around more first, maybe tried some different shapes or fabrics before purchasing, but unfortunately I can never resist a bargain (AUD$500 down from $2000+) and I am now stuck with it.

The shop assistant had clipped the dress really tight so I know it’ll look different after alterations, but the crepe will still be clingy and I need to come to terms with that. I am thinking about getting some shapewear, maybe this one from Skims: https://skims.com/en-au/products/seamless-sculpt-butt-lifting-open-bust-bodysuit-clay. The only thing is that it would show through the side cut outs.

Has anyone else had a crepe dress which clung to you a bit more than you wanted it to? What did you wear under it? How did it photograph? If possible, would you be willing to share photos?

Hi there! We are doing a backyard wedding on nice family property. I’ve been pushing for it to be very casual backyard vibes. Super untraditional (or at least if it was up to me it would be) - anyways, I have a pretty but simple satin dress for the private-ish ceremony. It’s very timeless and classy. My question is, I really want to change into the attached dress for the party after the ceremony. Is it “wedding” enough? Too much? Too litttle? It has a pretty deep v in the back. Do you think people will judge me for it or is it nice? I’m feeling so unsure and questioning every one of my own thoughts and choices because I’ve not been heard during the planning process so I’m gaslighting myself into thinking I’m crazy for wanting things a certain way / liking certain things.

I will be getting married next October at a historical home/arboretum with a gazebo and outdoor tent. I want my dress to match the vibes but also feel like it’s perfect for me. There are a few dresses I’ve tried and loved.

Two are Maggie Sottero organza dresses and one is a Suzanne Neville crepe and organza (pictured in that order). I just love the fabric, as well as the asymmetry. Any one know of anything similar to these under $2,000? Thoughts on the colors on my skin tone?

I have an inclination of which one I loved but I just don’t know if I’m right or if it was just a spur of the moment thing.

Struggling to decide which dress to pick for my elopement! Love both of them so much.

I went dress shopping with my mom and sister three months ago. We went to 4 different stores. I found a few different dresses I liked but none I felt strongly enough to buy. I can be extremely indecisive sometimes, and there were a few outside factors that made it tougher:

• My mom and I have very different tastes and she was "meh" about my favorite dress from the store. She was being nice about it but I could tell she was not a fan because she was more excited about other dresses I tried on. Right now I'm actually glad I didn't buy it though because it's not a great match with my venue.
• A lot of dresses in the store happen to be strapless, but I think I want a dress with straps. I know in alterations they can add them but it's hard to play imagine when these dresses are thousands of dollars! With strapless dresses they can just cinch and clip it in the back and it looks good, but with dresses with straps it's much harder to make it look good. I'm small and the dresses I try on are usually huge.
• I always imagined myself with a lace ballgown but I also really liked other dresses but I wonder if I will regret not going with a lace ballgown because it feels very bridal to me.

Now I have an idea of what silhouettes/fabrics look good on me, but I haven't found any dresses online that I'm dying to try on. I'm planning to visit more stores in a couple weeks with a friend, and I have a little bit more direction, but I'm just afraid I'll get decision fatigue.

I am desperately looking for a brand or tailor who can make this cape for a decent price (my budget is around 600 euros max) and I cannot find anyone.

I travel around Italy/ Brasil and UAE so any of these areas could work for me or even shipping if you have a tailor you trust in china/ Vietnam….

there are just so many options. its such a fun choice to make, but also so much pressure to get the choice right when there are a million dresses to choose from.

i feel confident about my ceremony dress, but my reception dress is killing me.

wondering if this spiraling feeling is just me, or if anyone can relate.

I need opinions on these two dresses. Very different styles and fits. Both I feel like give different vibes and have their own charms. Both I feel like might need to be elevated with some jewelry, fancy veil, or maybe add ons during alterations. Last pic shows me with some makeup and no glasses so you can envision a bit better. I do acknowledge that the last pic is very good lighting and angle so I went back to try it again (4th and 5th pic). Feel free to comment on how it shapes my body or if it’s flattering or not. Everyone around me keeps saying to get whatever I love the most, but I really just want some blunt feedback because I have body dysmorphia. I see myself skinnier than I actually am. I am aiming to lose 20-40 lbs within 2 years as a personal goal (already lost 10 within 1/2 a year slowly), but I also want a dress that will be flattering on me now so it takes a bit of the pressure off. Like, if I need to buy a different size or get major alterations due to the weight loss, great! If not, hey I know this dress still looks great on me. I am 5 ft 2 inches (in pics I’m standing barefoot on a platform that is 3-4 inches which will be my heel height for day of wedding). Started at 185 lbs. (as shown in the picture). I am now 175 (water weight loss but hey progress nonetheless. First dress I know is a US 18 bridal size. Second dress I think is a US 16 bridal maybe? I appreciate any help!

Looking for some help with veil length for my dress. The train is chapel length, I think the veil at bridal shop was cathedral length and I originally wanted a chapel length veil but now I’m thinking cathedral length. I’m getting married in a gorgeous cathedral. Please tell me which veil length would look best with my dress, and I’m open to any veil suggestions!

I found my dress today and it’s something totally different than I thought I’d like going in but when I put this on, something just clicked. I love the drop sleeves, the neckline, the floral design on the satin, the cutouts on the side, all of it! I’m so excited!

Hi all! I saw a picture of the Watters Indra dress the other day and thought the incredible lace detail on the back and train of an otherwise "simple" crepe fit and flare dress was stunning. However, it looks like the style has been discontinued by Watters and is hard to find. (There's one listing on Poshmark but it's likely too small.) Anyone have recommendations for dresses with some similar characteristics? The closest I've found is the Lovers Society Zepher (photo included), but I don't like the cowl neck, it has more of a mermaid fit, and the train isn't fun (ha), although I do like that the lace detail cutouts come further toward the front; the one thing I like less about the Indra is that it looks completely plain from directly in front. Aside from the cowl neck, I like the front of the Zepher better (the lace + more defined seams and waist), but I'm just really not a fan of the cowl on me :(

Relevant details / context about me: I'm in the US and getting married in an outdoors/rustic setting in late July 2027 (a little over 12 months from now). I'm fairly petite with an athletic build. Would prefer to spend less than $1500 on a dress & alterations but could go up to ~$2000. I've been looking a lot at used and sample dresses (Stillwhite, Poshmark, etc) and open to any and all suggestions. I'm also open to suggestions for more expensive options too if it helps give an idea of what else is out there. I'm just starting this shopping journey and am SO overwhelmed!!

More about what I'm looking for & like:

• Fit & flare or similar fit
• Bonus for a slit, or a design where a slit can be added easily (airflow and range of motion is so important, yall - it's going to be summer and I want to move around!)
• Low back
• Thin or spaghetti straps
• Neckline: Curved or V neckline
• Something that is NOT all-over lace, but has cool lace details that add some fun, some texture, a "wow" factor

Some things I really don't like:

• Lots of necklines, unfortunately: cowls, high necks, illusion mesh (I've tried a few dresses with illusion mesh deep plunge necklines and hate the way it looks, would much rather have a less deep V with no mesh)
• Bodices with a lot of boning, especially visible / corset-style boning (uncomfortable for me and don't love the look)
• Tulle, anything poufy, too many sparkles, too princessy
• Strapless (but open to strapless designs if it's otherwise an awesome dress and seems like straps could easily be added)
• 3D flowers

Not sure if I’m loving or second guessing this dress that I purchased. I’m sure I’ll like it more once it’s properly fitted.

I didn’t have that special “moment” but I definitely felt most myself in this dress. I’m just happy my person chose me so that’s all that matters to me.

Anyone else feel this way and ultimately regretted the dress?

I really like a cathedral mantilla veil but my wedding is outdoors. Though it is mainly on concrete I want to know if others have had any experience with long veils and outdoor ceremonies.

I have been trying on a lot of dresses but still haven't been able to decide. My wedding is getting close, so I really need to make a choice. I have one more appointment, but so far this dress is one of my favorites. I know I want an A-line silhouette with a structured bodice, and I don't want to spend thousands on a dress. If I choose this one, I would add straps for extra support.

This is a discontinued sample dress. My venue is outdoors, next to a lake with a glasshouse reception, so it's elegant but not overly formal. My wedding planner also liked this dress and felt that anything too regal or heavily embellished wouldn't suit the setting. I'd really appreciate your opinions!

4th boutique I went to, and I fell in love as soon as I tried it on. Dress is Ayah by Kelly Faetanini. I'll be widening the straps and altering the princess seams (hence the pins), and I added a pearl belt and pearl accented veil. I'm so in love with it, I cry just thinking about it. I'm so excited!
