Battle March New Post Flair: Battle March!

Hello everyone! With the coming release of the Core Set and the Battle March: General's Companion book (and let us not forget the announced Battle March boxes), we decided to add a post flair for "Battle March".

Please feel free to use it to showcase pictures of Battle March games you are playing, to talk about the format and even write full Battle Reports for the game mode.

This is an exciting time for The Old World/Fantasy with so much coming out, I can't wait to see what great content this community posts!

Monthly 3D Printing Thread

Welcome to the monthly r/WarhammerFantasy monthly 3d printing thread!

What this thread is for:

  • Showcasing your own designs
  • Sharing STLs with your fellow hobbyists.
  • Sharing information about 3d printers, associated software and other aspects of the hobby and how it can be used to further your own WHFB/TOW hobbying.

What this thread is NOT for:

  • Selling your STLs. We still have a rule for No Buying/Selling and no one wants to have to adjuciate any disputes that may come. If you see someone post something and you want to reach out to them directly, that's between the two of you.
  • Sharing STLs that are direct copies of Games Workshop Intellectual Property.

This is a conversion I made using one of the Scourgerunner chariot steeds, a later-edition metal Cold One Knight, and some Crypt Flayer vargheist wings.

I can't take credit for the idea though - saw @therealIngoPech amazing Dreadlord, and I sought to create something similar!

Recently played a 6 player large seige game. Even though my side lost, it was a great day. The scale and a spectacle looked awesome.

Fantasy 8th Edition Gobbo Mob

My Gobbo Mob - a little smaller than my horde unit but painted with more effort. Especially the robes and swords were done much more efficient. Also the unit has some nice little interactions and some cool metal models from Harlequin and Citadel to make this thing a little more extra.

I hope you like them!

The Old World What faction besides Cathay/Chaos has the most modern models?

I'm looking to expand my collection beyond Cathay/Chaos and wondering which faction has the least "old" models.

Where to find Dark Elves to play in The old World

Is there a place to buy dark elves? I know they were still around in some AoS lists, but I checked the website and couldn't find them.

The Old World Anyone feel bad for Tyrion during the end times?

Teclis is the brother that he loved, but he betrayed Tyrion for Malekith despite the horrible things Malekith had done to Ulthuan during this crisis. Worse discovering his brother arranged the death of his only child and daughter Aliathra, as he loved his daughter immensely in a ritual to revive Nagash.

Alarielle abandoning him for Malekith side, as Tyrion is rightfully pissed off and growing more unstable with how everyone is acting as if they’re forgetting things.

Morathi entering the fray.

Claiming widowmaker is to show how deeply he’s fallen, but it comes across as a man who’s endlessly betrayed and everyone acts out of character as it always gave me GOT season 8. With the elven civil war, it felt like orcs did more to fight against the armies of chaos rather than the elves!

Worse this exactly comes across as Arya’s stupid: “I know I killed when I see one.” line in the show seeing Daenerys.

Lore/Books/Questions Dwarfen vs Human Strength

Dwarfs are commonly said to be stronger than humans but is this due to dwarfs natural build their workout regiments, their rough life
would a scholarly dwarf still be able to beat a man like markus kruber or or hellborg at arm wrestling
I'm wondering their average weight, height and strength
because their armor and skill could certainly carry them

Flayerkin

I’ve finished converting a small unit of Flayerkin for my storm of chaos army.

Reluctantly led/herded by Thegan, once ruler of the tribe and his more recently allocated rat hound.

There were two GW conversion ideas I saw back in the day, the ones using orcs from the campaign book and ghouls by the US white dwarf team. I decided to go for marauders as a base myself.

Lore/Books/Questions Considering starting TOW with either Empire or Warriors of Chaos, beginner advice wanted

I’ve been looking throughout GW’s ranges for my next hobby project, and I think I’ve settled on the Old World with Empire or Warriors of Chaos.

I am completely new to war gaming but I’ve been painting for around 2 years now, I love Warhammer Fantasy and the Oldhammer aesthetic. Any advice for starting points/playstyles for either/both of these factions would be great, if I go Empire it’d be Nordland and for WoC it’d be a Tzeentch-themed army with lots of Marauders.

Also is there any news on what “Battle March” is exactly? From what I saw it looks like Spearhead for TOW but not sure if we have the rules for it yet.

The Old World Necropolis knights or stalkers for tomb kings?

Thumbnail

I really wanted to buy this kit because its only 55 euros and looks really damn good. Im really new at tomb kings, i have only bought the skeleton horses (1 unit of warriors and another of archers) and a prince apoteph, i basically know next to nothing about rules, and im just going with the rule of cool. Now, based on this rule, i would probably go with the stalkers, not only because they're badass, but also because i'd have a bunch of bits i could use for other stuff. However, i've heard that they're pretty bad in comparison to the necropolis knights, which, i do think they're nice, but something about them really doesnt sit right with me. So, i honestly dont really know how to go with this one, and need a bit of advice, in both tabletop and aesthetic. (And also how many bits you get remaining after you have built one of them)

Thanks to everyone for the help
