I'm a 29 YO guy living in New West who loves indie gaming and is up for any and all excuses to get through my backlog(or make a bigger backlog). I'm looking to start a monthly video game book club, where we'll be voting on a game each month, and then have an in-person meetup to discuss the game and what we thought of it.

To make the book club format work for gaming, and to stay in the spirit of trying out new games, we'll be focusing on smaller indie titles that can be enjoyed within a month and are less pricy than AAA. Not to mention the variety is way better when you look into indie.

Like back home run clubs are a very big thing and you meet heaps of people.
Like that what’s the scene in Vancouver?
I do rowing, know just a little bit of lacrosse and want to learn sailing in Vancouver? Also a really good pool player. Is there a big pub scene or not?
What are the best spots or clubs (rowing/sports/whatever) or venues in the city to meet new people?

I'd like to watch the Norway vs Brazil with fellow Norwegians or Norway fans because I think that would be fun (and maybe we could do the Norway row??). I don't have Norwegian friends in town. I'm happy to go to any of the public viewings, buy seating at the PNE amphitheatre, or support a local business, just seems like a fun opportunity to meet other fans and sit together.

I've also been trying to find more community here because I don't have people to speak Norwegian (err Bergensk) with here, so this extends beyond just World Cup :)
