Mostly an interview about iRacing with Thomas Nordquist, but also a bit of soccer and sights and sounds of the match. Sadly did not get the "no goal" or "handball" on camera.

Traveling to Portland for our game Wednesday--- anyone going/ doing a group meet up before kick off!

Usually I’m accepting of when a ref makes a mistake, but this just felt like robbery. To miss a potential goal, red card, and penalty all in one game against one team is just ridiculous. I’m glad we at least got a draw out of it, but it’s just hard not to feel like we should’ve gotten way more out of this one if not for a terrible performance from the ref. Especially the way commentary on ESPN frames it as if this was a great game really annoys me. I get you have to be unbiased, but to a certain extent you should be able to call out when a ref is having a poor performance and not make excuses. Instead it was hardly a focus point. I can imagine the league would want to sweep a performance like this under the rug though as it reflects poorly on them.

No sense in the two obvious errors. The implications are severe and there’s no way to take this shit serious without VAR. American football folks.

Double header today. First match is the boys against Westchester to be followed by the Special Olympics Unified Owls against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Its also racing night and there is apparently going to be a race car out on the concourse, we have that going for us.

It is our last group stage match of the USL cup and we’re getting a bonus Madison Hate Week! The lads can potentially win the group, we could go into all the math, but at the end of the day we really just need to win and hope the chips fall where they may. As a bonus if we win Madison will exit the cup with 0 points, how embarrassing

We are back at home with a double header. Gates open at 1800 CT for the 1900 CT USA v Bosnia game. Gates Reopen at 2030 CT for fans attending just the Omaha game. Let’s get it

Now that we are at Morison has anyone been tailgating? Under the bridge parking or just in stadium parking lot? We used to at Werner but haven’t been coming early enough to see if anyone else has been and I can’t find anything online if it’s allowed. I know parliament does but idk if they have special permission.

The USA v Bosnia and Herzegovina match will be on the mega screen at the stadium @ 7 pm (free entry for the WC match), so the kick-off time has been pushed back to 9:30 pm.

How’s your World Cup doing?

Union Omaha will be hosting a World Cup watch party tomorrow at Pint Nine following the Ghana-Panama match. Afterwards there will be a team talk with Kempes Tekiela, Allen Gavilanes, and Pato Botello Faz to discuss the season. Pato is almost universally recognized as the funniest guy on the team, so this is one you don't want to miss.

I vaguely heard that when pro-rel happens Union Omaha would buy into the Championship and I was wondering what the pros of that versus playing in would be.

I'm sure there's a million better reasons to buy in than my reason to play in, but a part of me thinks it would be amazing marketing to the people of Nebraska if Union Omaha declined a buy in to "do it the herd way, no shortcuts" so to speak. But that's probably appealing to people who would never care anyways.
