St Croix Premier 6'UL, Shimano Sahara 1000 and 6lb fluoro. Coming from a 4'8 uglystik this feels like a whole different type of fishing!

I’ve got a handful of Daiwa LT spinning reels in different models / sizes but I haven’t used a shallow spool reel before. I see a lot more of them offered for JDM and wondered why there weren’t more available in the U.S. Anyone have experience with them as far as casting better/worse/same?? I figured if they offered much more advantage you would see them in the US more often too.

The company name is Linnhue. They have a few different baits I can see. They recommend NED or dropshot. They are scented and float. $2-$3 for a pack of ten. Oh yes, stretchy material.

I am sure there are other vendors with the same rod “re-badged”.
Four things I like: 1. Strong for bass light enough for blue gill 2. 6’6” good for casting distance. 3. Long butt handle 4. Eyelets are big enough that a braid-fluoro knot doesn’t hit. 5. Inexpensive.

Just restocked the 1g Babyfish Micro Wobblers with 6 new colors added to the lineup.
These tiny handmade baits from Indonesia have become a favorite for ultralight anglers chasing trout, crappie, bluegill, perch, and more.

Thinking of getting the Bass Pro Shops Micro Lite Graphite 7’6 Ultra light rod but not sure what reel i should pair up with it? I seen the shimano sienna fg 500/1000 or even the 2000 or pflueger president 20 (its on sale 59.99). If any one else recommends a reel please met me know.

So i wanted to learn BFS more as the area i live in has more small fish than large, and my budget baitcaster setup couldnt throw trout magnets to save its life. So after looking into a spinning setup I bought a budget friendly one. Okuma celilo 6' rod and a piscifun carbon 2 1000 reel. Tried it out today at a local pond and set a new PB rainbow trout!
If you're wondering if you should buy a celilo rod, let this be the reason you do. I LOVE this thing and cant wait to catch more with it.

Let me just say FishUSA refunded my purchase very quickly, and offered expedited shipping on a new rod. So I cannot fault them too hard.
However.
Imagine my disappointment when I see my first UL rod (a 6'6" one piece) arrive to my door in a 4' box...
Rod was totally snapped and the first guide fairly mangled. Looks like someone broke it over their knee. I'd truly love to know how this happens... Seems they are selling returned items as new with *0* QC on if the rod is... you know. Whole.
Am I tripping or is this a little outrageous?

Micro Shakespeare 5ft 2 piece rod.
Daiwa Regal Lt2000
4lb trilene xl
I pack them in the trunk of my car and fish on the way to and from work at small creeks along the way sometimes during lunch. So transportation and being able to cast in tight spaces was more important that distance for me. The rod was on sale at walmart so only $21 dollars for that.
I got the 2000 series over the 1000 regal mostly cause it was instock during academy's sale. Ended up being 55 out the door. From what I could find they are the same size frame except for the drum size. So not a huge difference. Drag feels smooth and it casts easily.
So about $75 for the whole setup.
I'm stocked up on trout magents and bobby garland minnows. Hoping for a bunch blugigis in the morning.
UPDATE

Discovered the “Bite Time” feature in Fishbrain. Also a similar feature in my trial of Fishbox.
Said this morning would be good so I went to a highly pressured pier where I have been skunked on my last four visits.
Caught four fish in one hour. Fishing for panfish and caught a perch, bluegill, rock bass and green sunfish. Everyone was out to play it seemed.
I also verified that the dangly tail from IFish truly works.
Started with a trout magnet. Caught one fish and had a few nibbles. Put on the dangly tail and got hit hard and frequently landing three.

Anyone used the new Compre lite from Shimano? I know it’s fairly new to market but it has caught my eye as one I might add to my UL arsenal. I saw ifish posted a video about it, but was wondering if anyone had any on the water experience with it.

Snapped my ugly stik gx2, so I have been needing a new rod to pair with my shimano sienna size 1000, max I wanna spend is 130 and ideally 100 bucks, I have heard great things about the Diawa Presso, TFO Trout Panfish 2, and B&N TCB. I will be fishing the Trout Magnet a lot but also like fishing inline spinners and small crankbaits and jerkbaits a little more. I am planning to pair the rod with 2 pound test mono. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Edit: I want 2 peice, forgot to mention that originally
Thank you!
