Question/Discussion Fun easy classes?

So I'm a physics major with math and astronomy minors (math is finished, astronomy pretty much finished), and based on what I need to take I'll only have 9 credits next spring. So I'm just wondering, based on your guys' experience, what are some fun easy filler classes to take? I would be down to take another math class if it was super easy like STAT 352 or Differential Equations was. I also like sociology and random historical things. I have been looking through the course catalog and some classes sound interesting but I'm worried they'll be too difficult when I want to chill a bit during my last semester before grad school (aka please no classes with insane amounts of writing)

Freshman going into Electrical Engineering. Should I switch to this waitlist schedule (img 1) or keep my current schedule in img 2? Also, is it worth going staying in calc 1 if I only got a 3 on AP Calculus, or should I self study for calc 2? I am also taking MUS 122, but online.

Heyy, out of state freshman here (major: public health/pre-nursing)(18), trying to know some peeps before school starts

I’m honestly not a serious person and pretty outgoing/goofy, into art and nature.

If anyone wants to chat, feel free to DM ⭐️✨

(Side note: Saw the megathread was inactive, so figured I’d just post here)

Social New to Reno and looking to make some friends!!

Hi! I'm Arturo, 22. I know this is mainly a UNR sub and I'm not a student there, but I just moved to Reno for work and I'm hoping to meet people around my age, which is why I'm posting here. A little about me: I'm originally from San Diego and graduated from the University of San Diego. Still getting to know Reno, so I'm up for exploring local spots, grabbing coffee, hiking, or whatever's fun around here. If you're up for meeting someone new, feel free to reach out, would love to chat! my instagram is "arturopgdl"

Question/Discussion Has anyone felt like they got a bonus in job interviews or internships just for being a part of UNR?

I saw a similar post in another University community and was curious if we feel this way? How do we think our internship and job opportunities are being at UNR?

Event Moving from Las Vegas to UNR this semester? We might be able to help.

Hey everyone! I wanted to put this out there because I know move-in season can get hectic.

I own Roiter Home Services, a local moving company based in Reno, and this August we’re making multiple trips from Las Vegas to Reno specifically for students moving into UNR dorms and apartments.

Whether you’re bringing a dorm room’s worth of stuff or furnishing an entire apartment, we can help with:

• Dorm move-ins

• Apartment move-ins

• Furniture and boxes

• Shared loads to help keep costs down

• Full-service loading, transportation, and unloading

We’re fully licensed and insured, and we use a 20-foot box truck with an electric lift gate to make loading and unloading easier.

If you’re wondering whether we’re a legitimate business, you’re more than welcome to look up Roiter Home Services on Google. We work hard for our reputation and are proud of the reviews we’ve earned.

Thumbtack reviews:

If you’re interested, send me a DM or give us a call at 775-269-4450. Even if you’re just trying to figure out the best way to move your stuff, I’m happy to answer questions.

Good luck to everyone starting the semester, and welcome to Reno!

Question/Discussion Looking for advice on temporary overnight parking

Hey yall, I'm currently in an apartment on the north side of campus. I won't officially get parking from my apartment until August 1st, and I was wondering if there were any good spots to park overnight for the next 2-3 weeks that wont be at risk of being towed. Are sierra and college drive good places to park if I can find spots? If not those, I'm open to any recommendations.

Question/Discussion Is this a good schedule?

I have to commute it's not too far but a little bit out of the way and annoying to go back and forth so I wanted my classes to be relatively right after one another but I'm a little bit worried that I won't be able to keep up especially on Wednesdays. What I'm most worried about is making it from my vet med class to my theater class, but I feel like if I walk fast I could make it.
