Made this a few months back so some of it is probably outdated. Keep in mind this is MY opinions on them based off how I view them as monarchs, people, and how interesting I find them. I would NOT rank George V above Alfred in as objective tier list, for instance. Also, as someone who's quite left leaning, I'm fundamentally opposed to the idea of a monarchy in general, but I didn't let that get in the way of my thoughts on them.

According to the Act of Settlement, the line of succession was to be: the descendants of William III and Mary II; Princess Anne of Denmark (the future Queen Anne) and her descendants; the descendants of William III by a possible second wife; and finally, the Protestant descendants of Sophia of Hanover. However, the Act does not specify what would have happened if none of the aforementioned individuals had produced offspring. My question is: Who would have been King of Great Britain had Electress Sophia not had children? I am torn between Prince James Stuart, son of King James II (had he converted to Anglicanism), and Charles Bruce, Earl of Ailesbury—heir of Mary Tudor (sister of Henry VIII)—or John Egerton, Earl of Bridgewater, should Ailesbury have been considered illegitimate.

I think my favourite is William because he looks like a little girl. The pink ribbons (?) on the headcap thing look so cute.

I realize that the norman inheritence of england is a big deal, okay? but it seems a less huge deal than the unification of englands in the centuries before that, or even less than the unification of the UK.

William I wasn't the first or last king to put an army behind his claim to the throne, and it seems kind of weird not to include the kings of england that came before him , which he himself claimed to succeed.

Im sure if you're from Britain you probably have a very clear answer for that, that Im missing because I didn't grow up there so would love to know

Happy birthday to Prince George of Wales future king of Britain 13 years old from here in USA 🇺🇸

At this current moment he holds the record for shortest average PM term length out of any British Monarch.

The purpose is to surmise what monarchs would think of their successors based on their respective personalities, leadership styles, how they thought of their heirs while alive, and how their successor’s reign ultimately turned. Y’all likely know much more than me when it comes to pre-Tudor monarchs, and so I think it’ll be an interesting way to evaluate these monarchs.

I could not find a reliable coronation portrait of Mary I for the life of me so I had to use this drawing on Wikipedia, I'm sorry.

Of course, Elizabeth II's is absolutely iconic and even more beautiful in real life, but I really like Anne's and Victoria's too!

My least favourite would probably have to be Mary II's, which pains me to say, but it looks good on her since she was very tall and slim. As a measly 5 ft person, I would not wear it 😭
