I beat what I think is the final boss, and I’m currently at a point in the game where the objective is just to explore the world. Knowing how these games go, I’ve probably barely scratched the surface.
Nah it's definitely part of the game, I just haven't beaten act 3 yet cause every time - "everytime" is an exaggeration, I've gotten to act 3 like twice - I've gotten to it I ended up getting distracted by another game and when I come back I'm like "I have no clue what's going on"
Then you go through the whole game, get through the final boss, then Definitive Edition goes "lmao, now go fight timewyrm, scrub"
Has to be my second favorite secret boss ever. Even with several important stats maxed out across all characters, what an insane fight!
You know its gonna be hard when the RECOMMENDED strategy is to cheese it every turn with VERY VERY EXPENSIVE items that basically give everyone their "ultimate" which you can use for 1 or 2 turns of invincibility
I remember beating DQ8 as a teenager, and a friend informed me about 6 months later that I still had a "true" ending to unlock. A true joy to learn that I had another 20-30 hours of a game I loved to enjoy.

Dragon quest 11, was my first Jrpg and I was like "Wait there's more game? I'm more than 24 hours in, holy crap!"
