I’ve been trying to keep my eye on the dark horse and marvel books but I don’t think she has been in any comics. I know she was on a variant cover a while and a screen comix.

Just checking to see if I missed any issue that she may have been slipped into when I wasn’t paying attention.

Now I understand the love people have for Qui-Gon Jinn... that was a beautiful conclusion!

The first half of this anthology series seemed quite solid to me, entertaining, and with some elements that hinted at something bigger. Well, I'm happy to say that it lived up to expectations! This is a story of regret, revenge, and redemption. I loved that it delved deeper into Qui-Gon Jinn, highlighting both his noble side and the falls and mistakes that shaped him, avoiding Dooku's negligence and seeing beyond it. I was never a particular fan of the character (sorry), but this story truly elevated him for me. Of course that I can believe that man like that helped shape Obi-Wan. He was really something different! It's a shame that what made him stand out was also synonymous with how closed off the Jedi were to the force and its paths, giving an overall impression that foreshadowed the worst...

I also enjoyed the issues focused on Aayla and Mace, different in their approach to the force and strategy. I found Seera and Berem quite interesting. It's a shame what happened to them (though the issue centered on them and Soona was great).

My only negative comment would be about the series' premature ending. There was so much more to explore, so many different Jedi who could have received the same treatment as Qui-Gon Jinn! Also, it would have been fantastic to see the follow up of the red xenomorphs on Atha Prime. We were deprived of something that could have been so much more!

In conclusion, this was a very satisfying second volume, which together was a spectacular and entertaining series, one that made me adore a character that I wasn't particularly eager to see more. Highly recommended!

A thoroughly enjoyable anthology!

Besides the High Republic era comics, I must admit I've rarely tried to read comics related to the films, mainly due to a lack of interest. What a pleasant surprise this collection was!

The stories within are dynamic, individually entertaining, and full of details that, together with a central theme (the Republic's control of the Jedi), allow them to connect through their portrayal of each protagonist, delivering a complete picture that is as tragic as it is ironic at times. The Jedi were quite blind to this point in history, we know that very well, but it's still an incredibly satisfying addition to the canon. Special mention goes to the issue focused on the Kaijus (the artwork for the creatures is gorgeous), and Phaedra, who bet against Jabba, the bounty hunters and the Jedi (and won!). A really criminal mastermind!

In conclusion, as the first half of the series, it's fantastic, entertaining, and highly recommended!

I kind of stopped reading Star Wars comics over the last year because they just fell off for me, but I was wondering if any of them in 2025 are good because I’d really like to start reading again

Will Sliney is really putting in the work lately with these Star Wars Illustrated videos and doing the upcoming Kylo Ren and Boba Fett comics. With comics in general being in a bit of a lull right now it's nice to see them getting some attention on the main Star Wars channel.

I know there are the two main dr Aphra omnibuses. I also see there is a dr Aphra friends and enemies omnibus. Do those three books collect the entire run, or is there enough material to make a 3rd omnibus?

It’s almost my convention season, and I’m trying to figure out my plans while walking the show floors.

Picked up Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison for my first foray into Star Wars comics and I was surprised how intense some of the scenes are. Really incredible artwork and a great story.
