Does anyone know where waddler was on todays daily? I couldn't find him after taking several trips to every corner of the map. I even went into the back layer had couldn't find a trace of him. Can he spawn behind a block or behind water or something?

So I beat the game and beat the game from the start, I’ve made it to Tiamat before a lot of times I just tried to do strats I wasn’t good at but I learned the bomb timing and now im comfortable at least trying.

I can consistently make it to draculas castle, most of the time sometimes I still get ended. I usually try to have 8 bombs so I can avoid using the evil ass drill that breaks shops, alters, and lava pools idk if that’s good tho or if i should just use the drill and figure it out. I know how to grab the ankh without killing Olmec but the next parts im not good at remembering past grab sword in tidepool.

Now im gunning for sunken city and maybe CO, so any tips? Other then study the route so i know what I’m doing.

After years and years of attempts for a good run, losing the eggplant child in neobabylon, and losing the eggplant in ice caves due to the helping hand. I've FINALLY made it to the eggplant world!!!

All I've got left now is getting to 7-99!

I don’t mean good in terms of items or anything just in terms of mental endurance, like I’ll have a couple warm up runs, do solid and usually make it to Neo Babylon/Tiamat in 2 or the temple/olemec in 1 and after I’m just dead for every run after for the remainder of the day even if I take a break. Like I lose my focus.

Doesn't stop me trying to improve on it though haha.

Potentially the worst enemy in the whole game. Hate them with a burning passion.

Is this jump possible or do I need at least two blocks of space for momentum?

After playing this game off and on again for the past 5 years and losing my save file I finally got to cosmic ocean!!!!! I’ve played for about 175 hours and just got cosmic ocean now. 7-99 here I come!!!!! Love this game so much.

So, i'm playing spelunky 2 for years, so i wanted to share some tips that i usually do in order to go to the CO consistently.

Learn Vlad's cape skip - this is easy IF YOU PRACTICE - the requirements is gloves + the cape.
i practiced on the computer with overluky and use a mode like https://spelunky.fyi/mods/m/qilin-skip-practice/ to practice UNTIL ITS CONSISTENT.

my goal is to try to get climbing gloves in order to go temple - because alien compass + elixir is much stronger than 99 bombs and ropes.

• So - goal is to go to the CO with an active ankh, alien compass and elixir.+ possibly scepter / plasma cannon.
• On the CO - DONT BE CHEAP ON RESOURCES - if you ask yourself "should i use a bomb/rope - the answer is always yes
• 2 hire hands are important because of:

1. if you go temple - you want one to hold a scepter, and the other plasma cannon - to try and get them to the CO
2. if you go tide pool - sometimes the sun challenge is not spawning at 7-1 - and you NEED the hire hand to hold the clone gun in order to get 99,99 resources. (you hold the bow, they hold the gun).

So lets go, i do basically this until olmec - i'm trying to force hard climbing gloves to go to the temple.

1. i ALWAYS kill yang - because of the sole option volcana 2-1 cannot spawn a shop if you save his turkeys, and shop in 2-1 mostly mean something better than a pile of ropes he sells.
2. i always go this method: https://youtu.be/8UZKF9ML4W0?t=32 which is consistent and i kill him easily.
3. If you find gambling shop with an altar - it's a win - roll 10 and sac the dice for gloves.
4. Sometimes if its easy to steal from the shopkeeper (without hurting him - just take out an item - you need the "Stop thief" line) - i do it - the reason for this is that it spawns Sparrow at 2-1 - she has a skelly key which i always take (kill her) to reduce the altar prize pool.
5. I always go volcana - i know some people like jetpack, but its a walking bomb, and i rather keep mobility in the CO, having said that - if i don't have the glasses i bomb my way down to vlad, because i don't wanna lose the udjat eye which shows me stuff in the walls.
6. i try to get the altar prize in volcana if there's one - i always pick a backwear if possible before to force out a regular cape from the pool
7. If in volcana somehow i get all items (excluding paste which is not received from altar prize) - but i only miss compass/spike shoes - i'll go to the temple, but won't use altar until i get the guarantee compass (alien compass from temple) and guarantee spike shoes (the mama yeti drop). - Then i'll use the altar afterward to force gloves - there's a guaranteed altar at madame's place in neo babylon - you can just go in out in out the door, and the frames will keep you invincible, the bodyguards will kill themselves.
8. In volcana - always grab 2 hire hands, keep them alive - they eventually sleep for 2 minutes, so at ice caves i make them sleep, finish the inner layer with the yetis, then i put the scepter at waddler and go to grab the plasma cannon.

Tide pool:

If i don't get gloves - i'm crying and i go to tidepool - in there, you can grab the clone gun and let the hired hand keep it, same for the excalibur.

Temple:

Don't go to the city of gold, try to save the scepter - you will also potentially gain an extra shop for the level you're not missing.

to kill anubis - if you have spike shoes - just stomp him, if not and you have paste - throw 2 bombs, if you dont have paste, quickly go to the edge of his throne and drop down 2 bombs, he'll die.

Ice caves:

1. Kill mama yeti with dropping possibly a mine, you can do the same with the papa yeti but i dont bother if i have enough ropes.
2. put the scepter/clone gun at waddler.
3. if you have gloves but not alien compass - the mothership location is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/spelunky/comments/16otj50/comment/k1n5xu2/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button, you can just try to float down left / right then go climb the wall if its not there, then its in the middle if not in both ways - you get the plasma cannon which makes the babylon much easier.

neo babylon:

you should still have your 2 hired hands.

1. if you went tide pool, grab the right ushabi and make the quilin spawn, let the hire hand hold him, you don't want to stroll around the levels holding him
2. as mentioned, if you waited untill that level for gloves, you can use iframes to go in/out madame to let all the bodyguard kill each other to use her altar.

Tiamat's throne

After you mastered the vlad cape + gloves skip with overlunky - there's a consistent way of getting rid of the energy balls when you hover to the right side when you start the skip - check this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBi5KMIim2Q

i usually add more ropes for safety which looks like this (attached in the picture) - if you have paste + pitcher - you can just throw it to the right in the 2 places in the video, this gets rid of the energy balls.

Sunken city

Your hire hands need to hold now the scepter which you take back from waddler + the plasma cannon or if you went sunken city - the clone gun and optionally the excalibur.

in order to do an easy sun challenge - bomb the spawner like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2x9g83NnSPE 2 bombs without paste, 1 with. then just wait.

if you have excalibur - just stand below and spam it.

Hundun -

• Try to grab quickly the hire hands, go right few steps and drop them to try and save your items, if you can go up under those items - do it as they won't get crushed (if you have paste for example)
• when you are up, search for arrow traps and trigger them before hundun comes, pay attention also for top level sticky traps, possibly bombing them out

CO Few tips worth remembering: - if you ever consider using resources, USE IT, you will not run out as there are crates around - Camera is great - If you didn't have a compass, mark the exit with ropes around it, go zigzag from top down to find all orbs - on temples - move out the entrance, there could be a crush block above you. - on neo bab - always move out the entrance to avoid hidden elevator crushing you, try to float in the void if possible. - ice caves - hide behind ceilings for a bit until rogue aliens blow up - caves - grab a body to save yourself from flying arrows - sunken city - if you can, bomb arrow traps that can send an arrow to the void, it's dangerous. - jungle - don't stomp the witch doctors, if needed bomb them

So I beat the game for the first time on steam today and my second time ever. And thought “I’m doing fantastic I’m gonna try and go to sunken city”, so I got Draculas cape, a kappala, the ankh, and I was doing great. Then I’m in tidepool, 10HP an ankh thinking “this is a good run…i just jinxed it didn’t I?” And I opened the tidepool coffin for the character unlock and I didn’t wanna deal with having a NPC doing things I don’t wanna so I put him to sleep and tried to just bomb him rq, apparently they can rebel…why do the NPCs have hands?? Like your telling me, this dude stun locked me took 10HP off me, then came all the way up from the bottom of the level to the top and ran my shit again killing me, but when they’re on my side they die to a spider???

10/10 experience knowledge gained.

I hadn't seen anyone do this for a while, but there's some hack where you can run around 1-1 for a while, jump on spikes, and get like 2M. The top two in the all time top 10 definitely used this (I watched their replays when they got their huge scores...the top person really had it figured out--$8M+ average, lol!!).

I just saw another, #9 ponyotara, do this on their 16 July run. The same account has a couple other high scores this week, but the replays aren't viewable. Which is kind fishy already, but that could be just a glitch.

A) does anyone know what's going on? And B) is there any way to throw a ban hammer at them and expunge the board of their dastardly ways?

Also, I assume that the leaderboards are not cross-platform. Anyone know that for sure?
