In Spadesinator, Blind 6 is an optional special bid that works as a team bid: you commit to it before seeing your cards, your partner rides on the same bid, and making it scores 120 points (6 × (10 × 2)). That's how I've always played it. My question is whether other people play Blind 6 as an individual bid instead, where you declare Blind 6 for yourself and your partner still makes their own separate bid. I'm wondering how common that is if so.
Related question: do some of you play "Blind X," where you can go blind for any amount up to 13 (for example, Blind 8) rather than being capped at 6?
I am giving away 20 Promo Codes during my Open Testing phase of Family Card Games. I need some active users to test out the game offline and online more than just my family and what better way than giving out some promo codes!

If you redeem one please comment below which one and I'll try to check / remove the code used so it doesn't waste someone's time.
Euchre, Hearts, Spades and Blackbird are available offline and online, it does support Friends, Families (Clans), Text Chat, Voice Chat and full social controls to block, kick, mute and ban users from your tables as well. This has been a long on-going development for a solo dev and I would appreciate any feedback from users who grab a promo code or flat out grab the game.
To redeem a code you must go to Play Store, a click your profile Pic, payments and subscriptions, redeem.
The A-Star version… its a 250 game, one team is at 216, the other is -178. Even with the idea that any deficit can be overcome, the chances here are slim.
As the team behind, do you try to bag the lead team to force the game to continue for the very unlikely chance to win or do you just end it quickly to move on to the next game? I’m torn because I hate losing but sometimes I think I need to cut my losses.
I’ve played one-on-one Spades in person for years, so I built an iPhone game around that format.
Instead of partners, each player receives one hand from a traditional four-pile deal, while the two unused hands are discarded. It keeps the bidding, bags, nils, cutting, and strategy of Spades, but every decision is yours.
The app is called \*\*1v1 Spades\*\*, and I’m the developer. It recently launched on iOS, and I’m looking for honest feedback from people who already understand the game.
I’d especially like feedback on:
Whether the 1v1 rules feel fair
Whether bidding and gameplay are easy to understand
What competitive Spades players would want added next
I’ll put the App Store link in the comments if the moderators allow it. I’m happy to answer questions about the rules here as well. There is also a website that is synced with the app that can be accessed on almost any device so we are android friendly too. I’ll be putting it on google play later this week
In a game where Nil is allowed, a Nil bid is 0, you're committing to take no tricks, and your partner bids the minimum (or whatever they think they can make) to cover. My questions are about games without the Nil rule:
If Nil isn't in play, can you still bid 0, or is the norm that everyone must bid at least 1?
And does anyone play a variant where Nil is available and you can also bid a plain 0...just declaring zero tricks with no bonus or penalty attached, separate from a Nil bid?
Maybe I'm expecting too much from a random players, but I think this is very simple. When you're third to bid in a close game, you should bid in a way that forces your opponents to either push the table to at least 13 or bid nil to win.
For example, in the situation above (game to 250, opponents are ~2200 rating), if East had bid correctly, they could have forced me to make a difficult decision: either make 8 tricks or bid nil to win. However, East bid 1, which allowed me to bid 3 and we only need 7 tricks to win.
I'm not an expert in Spades, and this is just my personal opinion. But one thing I do know is that losing by 1 point or losing by 200 points is the same. So in the endgame, I'd rather bid based on the score than on the hand.
I sent my Mom (leave me alone) an invite to play Spades with me. It took her to the App Store (iPhone) to download the Spades+ app. We successfully were added as friends, we were playing and she’s taking forever in between hands bc she says she has to wait for the ADs to finish?!?
I went into her settings and they want to charge her $9.99 to remove the ADs for only 30-days?!? WTH
I’ve had the app now for over 5yrs and I never noticed that my app is actually Spades++ and it says Pro at the bottom. I don’t have any ADs and never have. I tried to go to the App Store to send her a link to it but it now’s says “This app is no longer available in your region”, even though I’m playing it.
Is this a recent change?? Is this why some people take long between hands??
Glad to announce BooksMade Spades has made a ton of progress. With the recent release weve had support for running events and tournaments in your own leagues.
Leagues allow you to have league specific leaderboards and stats among your community and friends.
The app as always is free to play (ad-supported) with a low monthly fee to remove ads. Spectating games always has ads.
New web interface lets you log in and see your history, manage leagues and events straight from the website.
BooksMade Spades is slowly building momentum and i believe I have an authentic offering that stands on its own against some of the big players out there.

We were out-dealt up to the last hand. We smartly bagged the other side up to the limit while taking only 1 bag on our side in 4 hands. On the final hand I finally got lucky with 5 spades to the Jack-Ace, but opponent went for nil and there was nothing we could do but try and bust the nil. East took the first 3 and I took the next 5. On the 9th I broke spades with the 9, and East covered with the King! I captured back with the 8 and led the 2♠️... 4♠️... 3♠️... and East was void! Final score 261 - 90.
I have a paid yearly subscription. For some reason today it asked if I wanted to do some kind of ranked system game, I tried it. And now I can’t play normally against other random people online. Help!
Spades players typically try to avoid bags, but there are times when I want them—especially in close games, when I’m not in bag trouble. In this game, as we were getting close to 250, my partner and I were up by 20, 171 to 153. We were down 2 bags in a close game, and I had noticed West was bidding pretty aggressively. When I saw the table bid was 10 in what ended up the next to last hand, I assumed the other team was going to try to avoid the bags and that our best bet was aiming for a bag advantage. We did take all three bags, making the score 214 (us) to 213 (them). I was first to bid on the last hand and bid 4, West bid 3, and my partner bid 2. That left East in a conundrum. Because we now had a one-bag advantage, they either had to bid 3 and hope they took the bag to tie at 274, bid 4 for a 13 table bid, or bid nil. They bid nil, we set them and won the game.
used to be a site dedicated to just a group that ran on zoo-games but that site long ago closed. but my card site i shared earlier is now avalable and open to everyone to try out, my bots are better than they were before and can actualy play a decent game. though they are not perfect and that's by design. but i have added quite a bit since i last posted.
a few things i saw from here that i included
dealer token. red D token is passed around the table throughout the game to show who starts the round.
host token. first person to sit at the table is the table host and has gameplay controls. token is automaticly reassigned if the host gets up.
club owner support. clubs can be created by an admin and assigned an owner. said owner gains access to club settings
club join and invite support. club owners can set join methods as well as send invites or accept join requests under a club admin page.
clubs can have a club badge/image that shows in chat.
clubs assigned a lobby, owners can edit that lobbies settings and lock in game modes/settings if they wish.
blink on new messages. while your on the table you can swap chat to lobby or table. the inactive tab wil blink green on a new message, an orange blink can be triggered by moderators to notify folks of something important. useful for tournys.
smoothed out card animations and timings with indicators.
added game settings score goal, bag penelty, blind nil, bots allowed, and singles mode
lobies can automaticly spawn/despawn tables as they get filled if enabled or just have a static ammount of tables. limmits can be placed on min/max tables for auto spawn.
this is a SOLO project and i dont plan to run any AD's on my platform any time soon. and if i ever do all ads will be hand vetted and not me just slapping some ad company's window on my page. also i wont require any kind of paid membership to play though i may use cosmetics and other NON gameplay altering features to make some side bucks to pay for the server in the future.
