f22 - anyone else feel like they're wasting this good weather? or just feeling friendless lol

hi - got this random shower thought (and i heard shower thoughts give the best ideas)

f22 - i've just got out of a long term relationship and realised that i never made the effort to have any friends, or hang out with people with similar interests, so.... here i am

(based in dublin btw)

i don't drink or do drugs (sooooo boring i know); i'm looking for some friends who would be down one weekend to go on a spontaneous beach/hike trip and play some uno with me - i hope i sold the idea of the spontaneous trips. not looking for drama, just chill people to hang out with.

a bit about me: i'm down to earth, mostly a homebody, big reader, into arts and crafts, i workout regularly and love exploring. i also have a jack russell puppy who's basically my full-time job right now - if you're a dog person, we'll get along

if any of this sounds like your cup of tea, say hi! - dm me and we could exchange socials :)

30M in Dublin looking to make some new friends

Hi all,

I'm a 30-year-old guy from rural Ireland who's been living in Dublin for almost three years. Despite that, I haven't really made any new friends here. To be fair, I haven't put a huge amount of effort into it either, but it's something I've been meaning to tackle for a while.

I'm currently completing a postgrad degree which keeps me pretty busy. The postgrad social scene isn't the easiest; most people seem quite settled into their own lives, so it can be hard to build friendships outside of classes (in my experience at least).

I've got a great group of friends, but most of them live outside Dublin, so it'd be nice to meet a few people locally.

Sport is a big part of my life. I play tennis regularly and watch a lot of Gaelic football and soccer. I'm also into hiking, walking, cycling (to college mostly haha) and generally getting outdoors, although I'm equally happy grabbing a coffee (hot chocolate in my case) or heading for a pint every now and then.

One thing I've noticed is that it almost seems easier for people moving to Dublin from abroad, as they often arrive looking to build a new social circle alongside other internationals. A lot of Irish people, myself included, already have long-established friendships from school, their undergrad days or from home, so there's often less of a habit, or necessity, of actively making new friends as adults. I think that's part of what makes it challenging!

I'm in a long-term relationship, so this is purely about making new friends. It'd be great to meet someone who's up for a walk, a run (I've been thinking of joining one of the social running groups), a coffee, a hike, watching a match, or just a few drinks and a chat.

I'm based in Dublin 7, but happy to travel around the city.

If any of that sounds familiar, feel free to drop me a message!

A social club for women who enjoy a bit of glamour, adventure good company? โœจ

Thumbnail

Iโ€™m in my mid-40s and would love to find a social group of women who enjoy actually getting out and doing things.

Iโ€™m talking about women who enjoy:
๐Ÿฅ‚ Nice lunches and dinners
๐ŸŽ Horse racing, horse shows and country pursuits
โœˆ๏ธ Travel and weekends away
๐ŸŽญ Theatre, concerts and cultural events
๐Ÿท Wine tastings and cocktail nights
๐Ÿ’ƒ Black tie events and charity galas
๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ Walks, hikes and outdoor adventures
๐Ÿ“š Good conversation and plenty of laughs

Basically, women who are comfortable in themselves, enjoy quality experiences and would like to build genuine friendships with like-minded people.
Iโ€™d love a group where someone can simply say:
โ€œWhoโ€™s up for the races Saturday?โ€
โ€œAnyone fancy a weekend in Lisbon?โ€
โ€œLetโ€™s book that concert!โ€
Does anything like this exist in Ireland?
And if it doesnโ€™tโ€ฆ would anyone join it? ๐Ÿ˜Š

Photography Buddy

Howdy do! 37F here in South West of Ireland. I have an interest in photography and I want to get a beginner DSLR camera in the next week or two. I'd really appreciate any suggestions? Or if anyone in Munster is selling an old one let me know ๐Ÿ˜Š Camera clubs seem to have an older crowd for some reason. Would anyone who is into photography and has a camera be interested in eventually meeting up to hang out and take photos and possibly offer some tips? It's ok if you're just a beginner wanting to learn together also ๐Ÿ™Œ Just a bit about me, I'm introverted, I like gaming (PS5 and PC) and scenic drives/walks. I'm not working at the moment due to health reasons so lots of time to get stuck into a hobby and hopefully make a friend in the process! Also won't be taking photos on top of mountains or anywhere that involves climbing or very long walks due to said health reasons ๐Ÿ˜…

Just Moved, Looking to Make Friends

Hey, My name is Angelina 23F. I just moved to Dublin, Ireland from the US and the only person I know so far is my housemate (flatmate? how do you say it here). I just want to get to know people local to me and make some friends. I like vintage clothes and DnD, I dream of financial stability and starting a band. I'm really bad at writing about myself.

I'm going to post this before I chicken out.

Doghuman 63F wishes to meet other doghumans & their dogs

A rare free saturday and I "gave" it to my dog. I was rewarded with meeting albeit fleetingly, lots of people and their dogs between the Ruff cafe and Dog run in Corkagh Park. Watching my collie run free and safe with a bunch of other dogs made the sun shine brighter tbh. I realise this is the way to spend the weekend.

Sporty Spice Looking for an amateur football team in Dublin 4 โšฝ

Hi everyone!

I moved to Dublin back in October, and in February I joined an amateur football team. Iโ€™ve really enjoyed the experience so far, but Iโ€™m now hoping to find a team a bit closer to where I live (Dublin 4).

Iโ€™m 27 years old and usually play as a midfielder. I used to play for many years back in Spain with my local town team, so I have plenty of experience. Since moving here, Iโ€™ve been competing in the AUL 3A division, and Iโ€™m looking for something at a similar level.

Iโ€™m not looking for anything overly serious โ€” mainly a good group of people, a competitive league, and the chance to meet new people while enjoying football.

If anyone knows of teams around Dublin 4 that might be looking for players, Iโ€™d really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

Sporty Spice Dublin amateur football club.

Hi, I'm looking for an amateur club to join to keep myself busy on my days off and to meet some new people. I have been playing at an amateur/semi-pro level before in Romania but i had to stop because I injured my knee and then life happend and I moved to Ireland. So basically I miss it but I have no clue how amateur football piramide/system works here. I'm 27 and I play as a goalkeeper, well it's been 3 years since i played or trained last time so I would like to do it again.ย I live in Santry and I work on a 3 days on and 3 days off schedule so I would like to use that free time to get back to football and meet some new people.
