Potentially Slightly Better than Golden Pearl, but not as damaging as Cursed Pearl?

I was recently unable to acquire my potion shaped rock due to the sozu relic. Because the item goes out of its way to not explicitly be a potion, but a rock, I think it should not be prevented by sozu

Obviously inspired by that other post. I just think this would be more interesting – a lesser boon for a lesser price.

Its most direct comparison is to the Cursed Pearl. Value-wise, the pearl gives 333 gold, but adds a curse that takes 75(100) to compensate in removal, so long term the value is closer to 258(233) gold.

By contrast, this gives you a much more variable amount of value to work with. Provided it's a shop, it's as little as 149 for a min-price common relic, as much as 319 for a max-price rare. But in terms of averages, 50% of the time it'll be 175 gold (common), 33% of the time it'll be 225 gold (uncommon), and 17% of the time it'll be 275 gold (rare).

A weighted average is 208.5. A shop relic would be 170-230 gold, average of 200. The plus-side of course is that the Trash curse can be removed without spending gold, making it comparable to a Clumsy, but then there's more variation here: Clumsy is always 5 fights, where Trash is any number of fights, just depending on when you get the chance to play it.

That's the boring part.

The interesting part is the wording. *Your next purchase is free.* It does not say at the merchant.

Any time an option at an event says "lose gold", it would instead expend the Coupon. Some would also have different benefits; maybe the Endless Conveyer lets you eat 3 times, maybe the Waterlogged Scriptorium lets you enchant 3 cards, maybe the Merchant??? lets you take 2 relics ("It's your lucky day!" they exclaim – they later use the coupon to fleece the *real* merchant).

That part is definitely optional though. You could absolutely be mean, and make them take it for no additional benefit. But some are replacing options as small as 50 gold, so that seems rude.

Anyway. This is more than I originally intended to write. The concept is there, and can be changed as needed to tune its performance. Thoughts?

I miss Limit Break but understand why it was removed.

I didn't know this was possible, but I got Adrenaline as my first card reward from Lost Coffer. I thought rares couldn't appear for the first few floors. Is there something about rare chances I am not aware of?

First, I'm not a good player, my A10 winrate is about 10-15%, and I would love to improve so I need some general advices in this run.

My current deck: So far I've been relying on the colourless cards created by Spectrum shift and Quasar. Damage plan is to put Bombardment in play, and just picked Make it so because I have two relics that needs 3 attacks played each turn. The problem? This is not enough scaling at all, I know, hence the need for help.

Defence plan? well I have mostly used Reflect+ and Glittersteam+ without much problem, I have enough star generation for reflect+, even though I am lacking energy.

So far I have not seen pillars of creation for the blocking synergy, nor supermassive for the scaling damage. I have not seen Orbit neither for more energy.

So, looking at ancient rewards, I'm in between Claws to solve my damage scaling, or Tri-boomerang on Bombardment, Gamma blast and something else?

What about path? I have enough gold for a good relic or cards to solve my issues I think, so maybe the shop on the left side (just before the fire) is the best option?

Bosses are Aeonglass and Test subject.

What should I change about how I think about the game? Am I misinterpreting stuffs? I ok with heavy criticism, I want to learn!

Am i the only one who got completely humbled by Ironclad on high ascension? I was flying through Ironclad earlier levels and now im probably on like a 50 losing streak with him on A10. I just struggle to find enough defensive options with scaling to tank 2 bosses back to back.

I don't think im that bad at the game either, i've completed A10 with everyone else, I even went A7-A10 first time with Silent.

How is everyone feeling about Ironclad on high A?

They look even less similar when right next to each other like this, like objectively not similar at all, but I still always mix them up. They look so similar to me when small in your potion inventory somehow
