Sticky What's your opinion on all the joke trends and repetitive posts?

We want this to be a open discussion about the topics that have been going on in the subreddit. Mostly pertaining to repetitive trendposting of the same joke (Mirror/Medusa, liquify the pan, Obsession arguments, Odyssey Inaccuracies, etc).

So we ask a simple question: What's your opinion on the meme/jokes that tend to go viral in the subreddit? Do you like them? Does it get old fast? What do you want to see change?

Keep in mind, we can't remove EVERYONE'S posts/comments, we do the best we can.

This is an open space, but please remember to be civil, respectful, and mindful of each other.

In The Odyssey (2026), Tom Holland plays the son of Odysseus. This is a subtle nod to Odysseus being Far From Home, thinking he has No Way Home, but ultimately has a Homecoming.

In The Odyssey (2026), Travis Scott plays a greek poet; who throughout the movie gave multiple chants that left me with chills. This is a reference to how I get those goosebumps every time (yeah)

Turd Despite a budget of $170 million, Masters of the Universe (2026) still made the mistake of including a Starbucks cup.

In the Odyssey (2026) we see one of the most effective strategies executed by Oysseus, the legendary "run away" strategy

Turd Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) was so fucking dry, to the point where Thor's hair is no longer blonde.

Turd The opening of Saving Private Ryan (1998) is often touted as one of the best openings of all time, but it’s just this old guy crying? I think I turned on the wrong movie.

In "The Odyssey" (2026) most people plaud Nolan's decision to mute the Siren's song from the audience; but it was actually a reference to the sound design of his other movies where you can't hear shit either

The Odyssey (2026) was never necessary to actually watch. This is a reference to the fact that this subreddit has posted literally every fucking scene in the film at this point.

In The Odyssey (2026), Zendaya has like 5 min of screentime and all the marketing and interviews and red carpets, implying that Nolan just cast her for clicks

Hollywood at this point is supporting itself through Zendaya's fanbase

In the Odyssey (2026) Christopher Nolan casts Travis Scott as a bard as “A Rapper is the modern storyteller” this is BULLSHIT cos Travis doesn’t talk about anything in his music

In Odyssey(2026) we see a Calypso deliberately manipulates Odyssesus to keep him on an island for 10 years against his will. Calypso unlike Bear in Obsession(2026) isn't considered a villain this is a subtle nod to the fact that in 2026 people still don't take male sexual harrasment seriously.

In fact I saw a post in this sub where people were happy with what happened to Odyssesus.

Funniest thing is Cersei is mad about men for the same reason earlier in the movie and she shown to be justified with her reasoning. Double standards.

In The Odyssey (2026), we follow a story about Matt Damon trying to get back home after fighting through a war. Pic unrelated

Audiences are delightfully surprised by a cameo appearance of Cillian Murphy as King Agamemnon's Helmet in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey (2026)

In Masters of the Universe (2026), it turns out if you make him completely unrecognizable in both looks and voice, Jared Leto can actually be tolerable

default In The Odyssey (2026), Odysseus (played by Matt Damon) deliberately twangs his hunting bow to let animals know he is approaching, giving them a fair chance. This is because he is a Good Will Hunter

In Free Guy (2021), everyone is shocked when Blue Shirt Guy attacks a player, because NPCs never attack players in open world games. Oh wait, yes they do. Huh.

In The Odyssey (2026), Nolan completely omits Xena helping Odysseus get back to Ithaca. This shows that he knows nothing of the source material.

Most of the plot of The Odyssey (2026) consists of Odysseus’s crew exploring random islands, finding some horror shit, and then nopeing the fuck out of there. This is a reference to how you should never visit Greece.

In Masters of the Universe (2026) the archers have their recurve bows strung backwards. This is because they were purposely trained wrong as a joke.

In The Odyssey (2026), Odysseus decides that it is best to travel into the unknown in hopes of finding his wife and son instead of staying on an island where he can have sex with a goddess everyday and live forever. This moment alludes to the fact that this story is fictional.
