Its graphics are super detailed, its music and sound design are excellent, and its gameplay is super tight and responsive. Just rock solid production value overall. It has its flaws, like high difficulty and a tight time limit but, well, that’s nothing a good ol’ Game Genie can’t fix if you want a more chill experience. Call me crazy but I think it ranks right up there with Contra Hard Corps, Castlevania Bloodlines, and Gunstar Heroes. I’m surprised it isn’t a bigger part of the overall discussion around great Genesis titles. If you haven’t tried it I’d obviously highly recommend it.

Hi all, I've spent the past few months working to get Blue And Red: Fight The Robots - Arcade Edition working and released on Mega Drive/Genesis.

It's a one or two player arcade action single screen platformer, taking inspiration from many of the arcade classics of the 1980s and early 1990s.

There's no crowdfunding bullshit, and no physical release, just the full game release for free to download.

There's also Neo Geo and Amiga versions available if that's your thing.

I was hoping for some help on this.

It all starts with playing Bart's nightmare, and only certain levels freeze the game. I was thinking it was the cartridge itself, like a bad cap or something. but I get the same results. It's always the germ level that freezes up.

Other games work just fine. I can nearly get through a few hours of play uninterrupted, but then I had another game start freezing on me in a similar way. Babba n Stix It likes to freeze in the same place.

So far I recapped both the games and the system and nothing has changed. There's a part of me that believes when the game asks for a lot, that's when it happens? but I could be off base. It's never a timing issue.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. I haven't tried bart's nightmare on any other console, nor have I tried a different copy of the game on this console.

It was a double dose because the rental stickers were from the local video store we would rent the games from before they had a going out of business sale and we bought some to play. I disassembled and gently cleaned it and got it working again in no time. I’m definitely making room in my man cave for it and will start looking for some games I missed to add to the collection.

I have been recently getting back to playing with and collecting games for my Mega Drive (second model and PAL) and for the most part I'm loving it. The only problem that I have with it is that fucking brick of an AC adapter.

I tried looking for a replacement AC adapter that would have a smaller plug but I could only find just the original AC adapter or a slightly smaller adapter which the listing made sure to specify that they were for the Model I. Are there any listings for more traditional AC plugs, possibly with the brick part and plug part being separate?

I picked up a NA Model 1 and 32X a few months back. Tested the 32X as-is and the best it could do was load Genesis games in passthrough mode, but would freeze at random. I've replaced the ribbon cables and have, at several points, gotten the unit to work, only for it to stop working again hours later. Caps appear to be in good shape. Any other ideas on what's wrong with it?

The cinematic war scenes are very cool, and the old war music is well done. Game plays great and is very faithful to the source material.

This game has been on my mind for many years, I have never been able to play it up until now. I don't do emulators on a laptop or evercades/flash carts. I play dedicated carts on original hardware on a CRT television that's my jam. Stoked I'm finally going to get to play this one. Any other fans of the Punisher out there?

Now I got to beat the original Genesis game twice--once on Easy, and again on Hard, while completing both of Abu's Bonus Stages, and while locating the Peddler in every stage. I just used Level Skip in the end in order to get through Hard quickly.

Also, side note, but the timing of the recent leaks concerning Kingdom Hearts couldn't have come at a better time, right after I finished recording footage for this Perfect Playthrough.

Took at trip to see a friend in Henderson, Nevada and he sold me all of this for $175.00 he knew I was a collector. What you yall think?

I have a Sonic 3 cartridge that won't save; every time I reset the console or turn it back on, the save is gone.

Recently I bought another one and it just arrived today, but it won't save either.

I think I have to replace the FeRAM chip (though I don't have the materials to do so and I don't have any soldering experience, hence why I bought another cart in the first place), but this got me wondering, is this a common issue? Were the FeRAM chips just faulty/defective? Or am I just unlucky?

For those wondering, my Genesis is a later Model 1 without the "HIGH DEFINITION GRAPHICS" text. Dunno if it matters but there you go.

I've been researching for the past few weeks about adding a Model 1 High Definition Genesis, along with a 32X and a Model 1 Sega CD, to my setup.

My plan is to have a Triple Bypass (3BP) mod installed in the Model 1 Genesis to improve both the audio and RGB video output.

Where I'm getting confused is understanding exactly what cables are required once the 32X and Sega CD are added, and how everything is supposed to be connected. I've also read that if I plan on using a 32X, I should be using Model 2 Genesis RGB cables along with additional patch cables, which has only added to my confusion.

Ideally, I'd like to have everything permanently connected so I don't have to remove either the 32X or the Sega CD when switching between Genesis, Sega CD, 32X, and Master System games.

That's one of the reasons I've been leaning toward the EverDrive Core and an actual Sega CD rather than the Pro. I was turned off by the idea of having to disconnect the 32X every time I want to play Sega CD games through the Pro.

My other concern is audio and video quality. From what I've read, the Genesis audio output isn't as good when using a Sega CD because the CD audio routed through the Genesis doesn't sound as clean as using the Sega CD's dedicated audio output. Is that actually the case? Apparantly when you add the 3BP mod you loose the ability to use the RCA jacks on the CD?

Would it actually be simpler to build around a Model 2 Genesis instead? I was leaning Model 1 to get a MB that doesn't have the TMSS chip but my main goal is to have a single RGB output carrying both video and audio, without sacrificing quality or dealing with multiple outputs, audio mixing issues, or complicated cable arrangements.
