Hydra Corinthian (Pacific Rim) 3D-Printable Action Figure (1:250)

Printed model with some battle damage added.

I recently completed my best shot at modeling Hydra Corinthian in 1:250 scale (approximately). It stands slightly shorter than the 1:250 Gipsy Danger figure that I bought from Gamebody, and has articulated joints that allow it to be posed (inspiration taken from other 3D-printable mechs). Since it is not fully known yet what the back or feet of Hydra look like, I took a little bit of creative license and some inspiration from Gipsy Danger, adding similar feet but re-contoured and with two "toes", and rear jets as well as exhaust vents.

I won't be doing a review of this one since it's my model, but I tried to keep things pretty simple. Level of detail isn't quite as high as some of the other PR figures available, but neither was the reference material I had to work with. I may add a second conn pod option at some point in the future for customization purposes.

Just picked these up at a 5&10 in Ocean City N.J. I was wondering if anyone had built any of them and if so do you have any comments or tips. Thanks in advance

> 1/72 conversion of Mach2’s AJ-2 to the XAJ-1 prototype: Stain 6 is done save for any required touch-ups. Clear coat next for decals. Cut the Vacuform canopy to display opened, need to re-work the canopy base to a wider spread to accommodate the wider stance of the bubble canopy. This will be the last thing to mount after decals etc., are in place.
> 1/144 Titan 3C w/MOL/Blue Gemini and DynaSoar: priming and compiling a 💩-ton of masking tape for the upcoming paint evolution.
> 1/48 Revell AD-5Q/EA-1F: one more layer of white then into Light Gull Grey (gloss).

Completed! "Pulldozer" by Revell

I've been painting off and on for more than thirty years, mostly war gaming models for various games, and hadn't really painted any scale models since I was a kid. This is the first automobile model I've ever painted. It's the 1:24 scale custom 1978 Chevy Blazer by Revell.

I can see where I made more than a few mistakes, but I had a lot of fun painting this and even assembling it. I mostly used acrylic paints, the purple was Hobby Lobby's airbrush paint, the pink was Turbo Dorks, and the orange I mixed some Vallejo red and yellow. I really messed up the windshield when I attempted to glue the rearview mirror on with superglue. I didn't glue the sidemirrors on for fear of ruining the paint job. This was a learning experience for sure.

My first “proper” attempt at jet exhaust.
Still need to add some copper hues and a little touch up here and there but, overall, pretty pleased with the results.
Used the Vallejo jet exhaust set and watched tons of videos.

Continuing my 1/35 British Armoured Fighting Vehicles collection with the Challenger 1 MK3.

While Challie gets some stick at times, they will always be special to me, I grew up with them on the TV rolling across the Iraqi Deserts and ranges in the UK.

I had fun with this model, bringing my Childhood memories to life, a simple desert scheme (although it took a whole bottle of airbrush paint to cover it) with lots of little details like diesel stains around fuel caps, chips on the water cans making it look like it's been rolling around the desert... For me, none stop fun.

While I can do most steps with photos of the instructions from old ads, I'm completely stuck on the cockpit. Does anyone know, how I need to bend this part?

A combination of 2 kits. This was a pretty big learning experience for me as I usually stick to cars and this thing is just huge. There are quite a few things I will do better or different next time.

Work in progress Follow up on the engine and more Waffenträger Auf E-100's i mentioned...

U might have or have not seen my last question on how the maybach HL230 from the Tiger II looks like, suggested from multiple modelmaker subreddits, and id like to thank all of you who helped! Really means alot to me :)

The people who told me said HL230, however though reading modelcollect's description of the original Waffentrager Auf E100 1/72 Kit it was meant to have a HL234 and i quote

»The final version was to be powered with an HL234 producing 850 hp mated to a Mekydro transmission«

Since the V12 HL230P30 is underpowered already for the Tiger II, and perfect fit for the panther tank! So i slapped a V12 HL234 850hp into a waffentrager aif e100 how it was intended to! However the valvetop looks exactly like the HL230 i havent got any other option to make it look like the HL234 sadly.

I made the hoses myself and based it off a Tiger II engine i hope you all like the engine bay!

Spoiler alert: Yes theres more Waffentrager Auf E-100s ;)

Awesome build. Super happy with the paint job on this one. Decided to go easy on weathering but I did do a marbling effect to give it a sun bleached look.. Might go back and do it at some point but for now I’m happy with it. You can see it mostly on the wings. I had a few mishaps on the body that required another coat of paint and covered it up. I started to do a panel line wash but there were way too many and I honestly just got lazy and wanted to call this one done. But all together I really like this one. The cockpit was super detailed and the functionality of the wings is a great touch. I really love Tamiya kits they just come together so nicely. That being said I just started on my first Ryefield kid and boy oh boy am I in for a challenge haha. Hope you enjoy everyone and happy building.

Edit: yes, that one crooked missile drives me crazy too but it just kept settling that way and I eventually gave up haha

Primer arrived Monday - in the meantime went back through my research materials and found several items that needed addressing. Primer shot and moving forward with paint
> Revell 1/48 AD-5Q/EA-1F: During review found I’d skipped over making/installing the ALQ-2 tailfairing, so fashioned one out of scrap and sanding to shape. Decided to install the pylons and ended up using guitar wire as installation guides as the kit’s were more like pimples than mounting points.
> Anigrand 1/144 Titan 3C: The detailed instructions Anigrand provides makes locating and installing the miscellaneous fussy bits pretty easy. Well, actually, the instructions are anything but detailed which is part of the charm/challenge in building these kit. Major parts primed and awaiting primary white and silver coats.
> 1/72 XAJ-1 conversion of Mach2 AJ-2: Review led to removal of production radomes/antenna, adding enhanced (prototype only) air scoop on stbd side and reworking props by extending 1/4” and narrowing chord on all 8 blades. Re-primed, shot and masked the tail cap and nose (white) and started final paint (NMF).
