International Grad Student looking for housing

Hello everyone, I might be a little late but I have to find housing for the upcoming Fall semester as an international grad student. The housing options of the school seem to have been completely booked (except Residence Halls which doesn't look great).

I have looked into almost every recent SIUC housing related post on Reddit but it's mostly contradicting advice and recommending the school's housing options and that didn't really help. I also have seen people say don't rent anything unless you have met the landlord and physically have seen the place, but I need to find housing soon. Any kind of advice would be greatly appreciated

Where are the recent SIUC graduates now?

Perhaps someone already asked this question, but I couldn't find it, so I'm just gonna ask. Have you (recent-ish graduates) been able to find decent jobs with your degrees? And if so, have you left the Southern Illinois area? (To like Chicago, Champaign, or perhaps to another state?)

I heard that some regional universities's degrees may not be worth as much compared to others, and that worried me immensely. I also want to move from Southern IL as well, but I'm worried that I might have to stay because of the harsh cost of living these days.

Thank you for your time!

Opinions on SIUC’s Masters Program

Hello,

I’m looking for opinions on SIUC’s M.S.Ed in Educational Administration with Principal Endorsement.

I have been accepted and planning on taking classes online. For more context I’m an SIUC alum from 2018. Graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Forestry.

I have since transitioned into education, more specifically SPED. I was a paraprofessional and currently am a teacher with my LBS1 from Blackburn College. I may one day want to obtain my doctorate.

How are SIUC’s masters programs overall? Any comments related to online courses? Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

TL;DR

How is SIUC’s masters in Ed. Admin program?

Graphic design program

Hello, I'm a student interested in siu for its graphic design program. I was wondering if there are any current students who can tell me about their experiences there? Specifically I was wondering if any of you had good job opportunities? The gd professor talked about getting his students different internship opportunities, so I was curious if that was true. Thank you for your help!

Need Access to a PhD

College student here from another University. I need access to the dissertation by Carlos Garrido entitled ‘Domenico Losurdo and the Marxist-Leninist critique of Western Marxism’ for research that I’m doing but it is not available through my institution. Would anyone with access be able to share this with me? Thanks in advance.

I would be subletting my bedroom and bathroom in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment. Preferably looking for females, please, as my roommate is female. The lease is from June 2026 to July 31, 2026. Very good for incoming students in the MEDPREP program or incoming students needing a place to stay before their official lease starts! LMK if you are interested!

We are staying at Giant City Lodge, but my BF and I need some recommendations for the best places in town to eat and explore. We are both 21+ and are open to anything that isn’t too loud or overstimulating.

Looking for Housing

Hey! I’m an incoming grad student at SIUC and I’m looking for a place to stay temporarily until my lease starts in August. I’m super clean, quiet, and respectful. Open to a furnished room, short-term sublease, roommate situation, whatever honestly. Lmk if you think we’d be a good fit!
