General Advice night zoomies are killing me!!

Post image

i have a (very almost) 4 month old male ragdoll. he will be neutered in 2 weeks time. i’m completely in love with him. however, he seems to enter insane zoomies from 2am-6am. i play with him multiple times a day, and try to initiate more play throughout the day but he’s just not interested until this time of night. i’m getting no sleep! as he starts biting, pouncing on me and attacking me trying to initiate play. i’ve tried leaving the room, redirecting him to toys (he’s not interested), i’ve tried making a high pitched dramatic noise to show him it hurts, i’ve tried to replicate the hunt, kill, eat, sleep routine. nothing is working !!! does anyone have any advice to stop this or change it to a different time of day? and does it get better with age? if so when? i love him to pieces, but i need my sleep!

also to anyone that may suggest another kitten, i would like to but i just dont have the space nor the landlords permission for more than one cat.

Meet Penny 💜🎀

This sweet angel is deaf and has a mild case of CH. With her condition, she’s a bit of a messy eater lol.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to help clean the food stains on her fur?

Any advice is appreciated!!! We are so excited to add her to our little family.

Thank you!!

General Advice My Ragdoll eats a few bites, then makes me move her food to a new location. Is this normal?

She does this almost every meal. She’ll eat a third or half of her food, then walk away. If I leave the food on her mat for 15–30 minutes, she never goes back to it.

But if I move it over to wherever she went, she immediately starts eating again… until she decides she wants it moved again 😂

Sometimes she’ll even stare at me from across the room like she expects me to come over and bring her food to her.

Does anyone else’s Ragdoll do this, or is mine just distracted/lazy? 😭

4 month old ragdoll, will have fast irregular breathing for around a minute after falling asleep. Is this something for concern? No other issues with her.

General Advice I’m so sad :( my ragdoll isn’t drinking or eating anything for a day or so. He’s 19 and has been hiding and very lethargic 😢😢😢 not sure what to do but comfort and try to encourage him to drink. I’m so heart broken 💔

Baby Floof Should I be discouraging finger sucking behaviour?

She’s 14 weeks and has always done this. it doesn’t hurt and she often falls asleep doing it. I’m assuming it’s self soothing behaviour and she’ll grow out of it?

Pet loss We lost our Moose today

He went suddenly. He was fine, healthy, and happy, asking for treats, rubbing on me one minute. Then he walked into the other room to go sit in the window, and when I walked in 10 minutes later, he had passed. Vet thinks it was a blood clot. We sent him off for an autopsy to find out what happened. We are devastated. He was such a loving, snuggly, talkative guy who would shadow us everywhere. I can't even hardly look at his picture without getting emotional. You will be missed, my friend. He was only 7.

I was watching Teddy sleep, and I find it so funny how his fur looks cracked when it is literally the softest cat fur I have ever felt

Health Advice Vomiting

• Upvotes

Hi, I have a male, 5 months going 6 months, ragdoll (not yet neutered, soon)

He vomits once in awhile, maybe once a week max, or 3 times a month.

He's healthy otherwise, eats, litterbox, zoomies regularly.

Went to the vet twice, and both times they mentioned he's very healthy.

Just want to check if anyone else encounters this with theirs?

I read that ragdolls has sensitive stomach, but not sure if it is common.

He's my first pet/cat, if that matters.

This is Theodore, he’s 10 months old (He’s named after the chipmunk). He kicks me in the head until I wake up and feed him. He also sleeps in weird positions. Love him tho.

General Advice Does anyone travel and adventure with their ragdoll?

I am thinking of getting a ragdoll kitten but my lifestyle is a lot of travel, my partner lives on Vancouver island which is 1.5 hours by ferry which I do every 2 weeks.
Do you know if they like to travel in a backpack if you train them young? Does anyone’s ragdolls like to walk/ have trained on a leash to be outside?
I would love to take it on adventures.
