Hello, I have started my first Paludarium. I have many fish tanks, but this is my first tank with any land mass. My aim is to keep frogs in it, but I am struggling to regulate air temp and don't want to introduce anything until not only the bioactive part of the tank is settled and also I can figure this out.

I do not have central ac, so each room has one. My fish tanks don't struggle to maintain 77-78 all year, and so far, the water part of the paludarium is the same. A steady 78. But the air portion is very sensitive to outside air temps, and even if the water is 78°, the air can drop to 71 when the AC is running. If I turn it off, the air warms up to the mid 70s.

The goal is 90% humidity in this, so I don't know what heat sources would be good due to the wet environment. Would a heat pad on the side where there AC hits the strongest help? It's got a glass top so I don't think a heat lamp would be ideal.

I recently bought this as second hand. Need help to improve it! I want it to be a paludarium with a watherfall. My inspiration is a rainforest style. Not against some animals inside maybe (Shrimp? Frog? Lezard? Nothing?), but not at first. The dimmension are 24*18*24 inch (Front, back, top).

Looking for advice on planting my paludarium. I am keeping sawagani crabs along with some fish, and the crabs are known to uproot stem plants and even tear up anubias. I'm trying some java fern and buce, and above the water ficus pumila and peperomia scandens. Looking for advice on plants below and above. How would you plant this tank?

Gonna build my first paludarium in my 60c45x60 tank and making it look like a forest with a waterfall and ventilation system.

Been watching tangled earth vivariums and it’s quite useful however I have a few questions about brands and how stuff works.

Here are my questions

1.whats a good brand for lighting ranging from cheap to best and able to dim the light,change colour and is a great grow light.And if possible a built in timer

2.i always watch videos that has waterfall in their build like tangled earth vivariums.However i dont know how the water gets into the pump since the water section and waterfall is not near to each other.(does the water overflow and falls back into the drainage layer?)

3.best moss that can stay submerged or high humidity.

4.can I use reptisoil for substrate or is there better and nutritious substrate meant for plants

Found a cheap reptile one tank 90x60x45cm but i read in a manual that it has a max internal weight of 20kg, but im not sure if this is only for liability… anyone have experience with the brand with a heavy build?

Got this gorgeous 20g paludarium for $100 on FB marketplace. It has a drip system and I’ll be adding more water to it. I’d love to add some vampire crabs to this, but they’ll escape for sure… anyone have any creative ideas on how to cover this?

Got a whole lot done yesterday, but I'm still unsure how I'm going to crab proof the subsection underneath the egg crate and still keep it accessible for me and cherry shrimps. Oh this is slightly old, I secured the existing egg crate with foam after I took this picture

looking at doing a diy paludarium, might have to roll it out in phases because i’m poor but would a standard 45 gal be enough surface and room for breeding any species of newt? probably going to have 6-10 inches of calm water with varying overhanging structure and shaded areas, I know the tank footprint is smaller but if I incorporate multi layered horizontal structure will that be enough surface area?

Just a water fall made of mostly bulk lava rock. No it's not done yet, I'm just excited it's working so well

Thinking of making a paludarium and have no idea what’s a good substrate that’s both safe for isopod and allow plants to grow properly.Able to retain moisture.

Would like to get a cheap brand if possible.Also could reccomend a 60x45cm light for my exoterra(60x45x60)

Starting on a paludarium build as a beginner. I’ve been looking online and I haven’t found much specific information - I’ve gotten the basics of a paragraph or so for each section but what are your favorite resources for beginners? I haven’t found much in depth info. Thank you!

Looking to get into the hobby have never owned aquariums or terrarium before any advice would much appreciated.here are some things I would like to see would like to know if any of them are impossible or stupid. Please let me know.

Tank-I would like to have a large tank if that is unimaginable to someone all of us new to the hobby please let me know and some recommendations for tanks or where I can buy one.it would be greatly appreciated. Would envision it to have a large water section.

Flora-I’m not exactly sure where I would like to go with Flora, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m located in Central Texas.

Fauna-Looking for advice with compatibility between animals. I am mainly interested in trying to keep crabs, but I would like to have some fish as well and maybe another land animal.

I have an ants invasion in my paludarium. They can’t be in there because they are bothering my frogs and using my house and the tank as their new home. How do I get rid of them without harming the other species in my tank. I have Amazon milk frogs, springtails, snails, shrimp, crickets, and isopods.

I was thinking maybe ant traps around my house and around the outside of my tank?

Any other suggestions? I really do not want to take the whole thing apart for a third time …. Help.

Here we are months later and finally close to trying the new design. There have been some setbacks and just plain laziness lol but yeah the land section will be elevated enough for around 8-10 gallons of aquarium below. Only things left are the pump house and rock structure that will give my cherries a huge safe haven from any vampires

I'm in the UK, and building my first paludarium. Using the same tank as my last aquarium that hasn't had anything in there for a couple years now.

Everywhere I look just seems unreasonable pricing. So how do you guys save money?

 I’m wanting to get vampire crabs and wondering if I have too much water for them it’s a 75 gallon tank. It’s about 5 inches deep in the front and 2 or 3 in the back. is there anything I should change the tank? It will be my first time with vampire crabs also, the tank has been set up for a couple months. and has isopods and fish and snails already in it.
