The Esports World Cup (EWC) is a major annual international event that brings together the world's best esports clubs and players across multiple competitive games. EWC 2026 is taking place at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France, and PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is one of the featured games, with 24 top teams competing for the championship.

Format

Group Stage:

• 24 teams divided into 3 groups of 8
• 3 match days
  • Two groups compete each day (A vs B, B vs C, A vs C)
  • 6 matches per day
• Each team plays 12 matches
• Top 16 qualify for the Finals
• Bottom 8 are eliminated

Finals:

• 16 teams
• 18 matches (6 matches per day)
• The Smash Rule applies:
  • The Match Point threshold is set after Day 2 at the first-place team’s point total plus 10
  • A team must reach the Match Point threshold and then win a subsequent match to become the EWC 2026 Champions
  • If no team wins through the SMASH Rule within 18 matches, the champion is determined by the standard overall standings

The tournament features a $2,000,000 USD prize pool, with $228,000 distributed based on Group Stage results and $1,772,000 distributed based on Finals results. An additional $25,000 USD is awarded to the Finals MVP.

EWC 2026 is played on patch 42.1 under v6.0.1 of SUPER.
