TLDR: Reply to this post or make your own post with the special flair with art, edited images or favourite images of Oliver to be included in a large collaborative subreddit banner.
Hello everyone, since the unfortunate passing of Oliver Tree, we have had our banner updated to have his name on a white background with his date of birth and date of passing, which was later updated to include his famous ugly is beautiful quote.
We’d like to upgrade the banner now that a month (I can’t believe that) has passed. Instead of using an existing single image or getting a single bit of art drawn up, we’d like to include lots of fans.
We’re putting out an open call to anyone interested to provide us with an image to use as part of a large collaborative collage banner we will be assembling together using user submissions. You can submit your own art, funny edits or just your favourite picture. All will be considered and all will likely included.
Either reply to this post, or make a new post using the “Banner Collage Submission” flair and you’ll be put in. Submit anything within the next two weeks (before the 29th of July at 12am PST). We ask only two things of these images:
Due to the nature of this project, crediting everyone is hard, but I will compile a post with everyone’s reddit username when the banner is finished, as well as providing a special "Scooter Army" user flair, but remember that this is a community collaborative project so you are volunteering your submission for indefinite use as part of the banner.
Thank you very much for reading and to anyone who submits, thank you 1000 times more.
RIP Oliver Tree! 🛴❤️

Hello OT Subreddit,
My name is Steve & I first began collaborating with Oliver making content back in 2017. We've toured together, lived together, gone on a journey together best described as a freshly written blockbuster. He was not only my best friend but we viewed each other as brothers.

The truest way to paint how unique Oliver was — not just in front of the camera, but in daily life — you show it across the map. He traveled to 130+ countries. Traveled year round. Did not own a house. Did not rent a place. The amount of stories & interactions Oliver had globally every day must be countless.
🌍 The Global Oliver Tree Memory Map — FindTree.org

I created a site you can go to — without signing up — and post about a run-in, experience, or memory you had with Oliver Tree. Or about him.
Adding your memory takes under a minute:

If you never met him, that's also ok — feel free to add a memory that made an impact on you with Oliver. You can choose to leave all of those fields anonymous and just write a message. Or mix & match.

Finding stories: there's a built-in like system anyone can use on any memory, so more popular memories rise to the top. In the FILTER section you can view memories however you like — by year, by country, by item in the memory or photo like "scooter"....…or create your own personal memory bank by adding your social handle when you post, then searching your username later.

The goal here is to paint the man behind the legend with thousands of stories. I've begun populating the page with my own memories to get the ball rolling. For the super Oliver fans this should help fill in any blanks about the Oliver timeline; every photo I posted had date metadata. I've got about 10,000 more memories to go 😅
Please add yours! & let's get this out to those who need to see it 🤘 Feel free to add as many memories or photos as you have with him — but you can only post 1 image/memory at a time.
📼 Years of unreleased footage
I have literally years of unreleased content & footage. 9 iPhones filled to the brim. 15 hard drives. And that is just me personally… there are others that hold a treasure trove of video gold too.
For years, we wouldn't only film the BTS of whatever we were doing, but would film the BTS of the BTS too. Even as far as a BTS of the BTS doing the BTS. I'm not kidding...
For Oliver's closest collaborators he may not be giving any new material to work with; but the world has enough content they'll be seeing for the next decade that it will feel as if he's still here with us. And that is just the video side… music is a whole other story..
🎬 Clips Archive — FindTree.org/Clips

The best way to describe Clips Archive: a fusion between Dropbox & my personal Oliver-curated iPhone camera roll.
I uploaded all of these directly from my latest iPhone's camera roll… so it's only a small amount of videos over a couple countries. About 70 in there now. The clip metadata gets pulled when uploading, so every clip shows its year & location. I had to regularly switch phones/data out from the amount I was filming over the years. Like Oliver, I would regularly be moving year round, so currently my phones/drives are spread across the globe in various locations; Locations I left at safely & am in process of collecting.
How it works:

These videos are to paint the process of work & the person he was when the camera was "off". Videos like these are something Oliver specifically told me he would never want out until after he's gone. So this is the first small step into offloading what I have. Not to mention what Ryan, Paul, the entire management team, & who knows how many other people/production companies hold. As I collect my footage, I will upload it here slowly. This is to spread Oliver Tree & his message further. To the deepest depths of the internet 👽

Around 1-4 times a month, I'll be uploading a bunch of footage to that Archive. The more you see of the real Oliver, the more you'll fall in love with him. He was way more epic as Oliver Nickell than any of his characters or artist personas.
Oliver loved architecture & restaurants globally & kept a record of all of that. In the future, hopefully will be able to implement onto the site. This as well as the physical locations where each one of his music videos were shot.
My Instagram story highlights have a lot of gold as well (zilbersteve). Unfortunately it is a lot to filter through. I normally filmed stories on IG so I don't have most of those high res. The highlights start 2017, the year I met Oliver.

A heads up… I have been physically off socials and not sure if I'm ready to dive back in, so I likely won't respond right away if you DM me. But if/when I'm back, will do my best.
🙏 A little help
Depending on how large this grows, I would love some help from anyone that's responsible reading this post, to moderate submits. It's currently running autopilot and works fairly well from what I've been testing. There's a few different security screening layers I created on the back end that each memory goes through. But if anything is even remotely dodgy, the story gets sent to review. That's where someone manually needs to approve, & only time will tell how frequently this will be occurring.
Any web developers that specialize in traffic/data handling/uploads, would love to chat as well!
💜🕊️ THANK YOU FOR READING & SUPPORTING 🕊️💜
I would genuinely like to thank each and every one of you for the continued support, old & new fans alike. I'll never forget the dozens of fans a night I had conversations with in the beginning of our journey. Driving an hour, 4 hours, 8 hours to watch Oliver perform at a venue-bar that's 120 cap. When nobody else would support us, you guys were there. Truly, if it wasn't for the fans, none of this would be possible.
I will never stop spreading Oliver's message; it is forever engrained in me. I know it's the same for many of you too.
A global legend. Peace be with Oliver Tree <3

TL;DR — I built FindTree.org — a Global Oliver Tree Memory Map where anyone can post a story, photo, or voice note of meeting Oliver or about Oliver (no signup, anonymous ok) — and FindTree.org/Clips, an archive of mainly unreleased footage that I'll keep adding to weekly or monthly. Add your memory & spread the word 🛴

St Dr Oliver Tree, patron saint of creative arts and scootering. I set myself the challenge to complete it before his memorial. I am a glass artist and I’ve followed Oliver’s career for a long time, I love how he felt about creativity and art, I love how he lived and breathed his art. I was so looking forward to see who he became as he stripped off the character work and started letting us see a bit more of the ‘real’ Oliver. I love the simplicity of the video for ‘all you ever wanted’ and wanted to make a glass piece of him so here it is, its my first portrait piece, and I’m glad it was Oliver that I worked on to help me learn a new element to my skill. I still can’t believe that that’s it, it’s the end. See you all in the livestream on Saturday ❤️

When Oliver passed I was on a meditation retreat where I did not have access to the internet for 10 days. On the 4th day I had a really weird dream about my friend that I hadn’t spoken to in 2 years, I woke up in cold sweat and had to change my clothes, later that day I had a panic attack out of absolutely nowhere and could not breathe for a good hour, it never happened to me before. When I got my phone back on the 10th day, the first thing I saw was a text message from that friend sharing the news that Oliver died. I tracked the date of that message and the day of his passing to that same day when I had a dream about that friend and had a panic attack.
I loved Oliver’s art A LOT, he is my favorite artist, but i haven’t followed him that closely in the last half of the year so I cannot explain what happened to me but I know I felt it. I was so devastated by the news i literally could not function for good 2 weeks. I rewatched everything I missed and grieved his death like it was someone I knew. It is still hard to accept that this amazing human, full of life, full of kindness, full of talent, who inspired me so much to start loving myself and do what I like - died such a devastating death. I cannot even begin to imagine what his friends and family are going through..
I’m curious if anything like this happened to anyone else?

4yrs-8yrs, I looked forward to many more. At his insistence Oliver Tree took over our lives and I truly enjoyed the ride. We feel like we lost a family member.

I’ve been a fan of Oliver since 2019 after I found out he was dating Melanie Martinez ( who I was a massive fan of at the time ). I would listen to Oliver’s music on the way to school, to college, and he released “bounce” on my 18th birthday in 2023. Watching his progression, and “vibes” change through all of his albums was so exciting to me.
I was playing a backrooms game with 2 of my friends when I heard the news. My friends brother walked into her room and I just heard “oliver, yeah” as her headset mic cut out. She then goes “oh what (my name) likes him”. I then say “what” and she goes “Oliver tree has died”.
I didn’t believe her as I know the kind of person Oliver was and it wouldn’t have been such a shock if he had faked his death for a stunt. But I searched it up and there it was.
I’m not going to sit here and pretend I was a mega fan with merch and constantly keeping up to date with everything, but his work was a huge part of my college days especially, and watching all of his Instagram updates was hilarious.
It was over a month ago but I’m still having an odd time processing that he’s actually gone, especially in the way that he went and reading about how he was found. It’s absolutely devastating.
Rest in peace Oliver. We thank you, and we miss you 🤍

I can't stop thinking about this because I know how record labels work, they are like vampires; they suck the life out of artists until they can't anymore and then they move on to the next.
I noticed something after the Alone in a Crowd album it seems like his label had stopped supporting him as much as they did in the past, maybe they felt like his views and streams weren't performing as good as it did during the pandemic.
I have a feeling there was a lot of issues going on behind the scenes between him and his label and the stress of him dealing with the business side of the industry and not being able to focus on what he actually loved, creating music and connecting with his fans, caused him to lose his weight and drop the turbo character in order to reinvent himself again. That's when he realized he didn't need a label or their budget; he got rid of his Rihanna mansion with all the TVs and started his suitcase life and started travelling the world as the one-man band.

I was incredibly inspired by oliver from the moment I heard fuck. He was an incredible artist in every sense of the word. I finally got to pay a little respect for the inspiration and sampled some of his vocals from playing with fire. I'm gonna be big sad for a while that there's no new music, but everyone he inspired is gonna make some really cool art in the future.
