After Matthew investigated Dave's hot tip of "sliced bread", Joan Rivers had an even bigger scoop for him called "Toast!"

General discussion What if Frasier and NewsRadio had a crossover?

I started watching Frasier for the first time a few months ago and I feel like if NewsRadio were to have a crossover with any show Frasier would have been perfect. Not to mention they both aired on NBC.

Familiar faces on Seinfeld

Been re-watching Seinfeld for the first time since it was originally on. I was surprised how many Newsradio people I saw (and this is an incomplete list).

  1. James James, the man so nice they named him twice.
  2. Just Beth
  3. Max Lewis/Ulysses S. Grant, 18th President of the United States/the jumper whose name I forgot
  4. Jerry Seinfeld, the great actor who is suddenly a great economist, and Dave's ex girlfriend who apparently came to visit.
  5. Andrea PlanB
  6. Johnny Johnson
  7. Milos the janitor guy
  8. Junior the security guard/Jack Frost the security expert and serial imposter
  9. Third from left is Dorothy (in costume), who Bill fell in love with when he thought he had only a few decades to live
  10. The guy who asked Jimmy about the confusing text of Macho Business Donkey Wrestler/a member of Chock Full O' Notes
  11. Dr. Smith, who operated on Matthew's hand/a member of Chock Full O' Notes
  12. Throwdini!
  13. Steve, brought in to do half of Dave's job
  14. Brent, the office weird guy
  15. Cadbury, Bill's manservant
  16. At left, the guy who worked at the airline counter in St. Louis
  17. Working out at Ted Chambers' gym, amazed to have the Bill McNeal as his personal trainer
  18. (you can't tell because he never takes the helmet off, but) Ted Chambers himself

Went back to season one during the current rewatch and once again was caught off guard and laughing at Mr. James saying “Well, a Buttafuoco to you too, Matthew”

Mr. James definitely got more unhinged as the series went on but the signs were always there

Rewatched this the other night and got a huge kick out of Dave’s presentation to everyone (using cards, the late 90’s version of Power Point)

“Here, on the other hand, someone has propped the door open with a chair. A thief has entered. We are all in danger!”

“Hey, hey, wait a minute, I’ve seen that guy around”

“Sleeping” S3, Ep21

I’ve been going through season 3 again lately and I really got a laugh from Dave’s made up conversation with the comatose Jimmy

“Why milk the cow when you got a refrigerator full of steaks?”
“That makes no sense, sir”
“Well it sure made sense when that guy Chuck Connors said it in Chinatown”
“Sir, Chuck Connors wasn’t in Chinatown”
“If I’d have wanted to hear that I would have hired that Siskel Ebert guy to do your job”
“Actually that’s 2 guys”
“Dave, just because he’s fat doesn’t mean you can make fun of him”

What makes me laugh is playing out that conversation in my head with Mr. James voice for his lines. Just really funny writing

Season 5

Newsradio is probably my favorite show of all time and I've been rewatching the series. Season 2 or 3 is probably my favorite season and I know season 5 gets a lot of flack but man it was probably still funnier than anything on tv that year. Season 5 still has some hilarious episodes the white noise episode might be one of my favorite episodes of all time. NBC did this show wrong

I was doing the dishes and I suddenly started singing "When Johnny comes marching home again he's gay! He's gay!"

This show has really stuck with me.

General discussion DeAnna's NEWsRadio Website!! (archived fansite)

This was a Tripod website that has been online since 2001 (last updated 2003) until two months ago when Lycos shut down the server, dooming untold numbers of fansites for innumerable fandoms. I have re-hosted it so future generations may see DeAnna's work, from a bloopers page, the obligatory quotes page, and no fewer than four different NewsRadio trivia quizzes rendered in Web 1.0 JavaScript.
