Discussion Does this place just have a constatnt 40% or 60% sale or what?
I don't think I've ever gone past this shop and not seen a big sale being advertised.

Given a few of the recent posts, would anyone be interested in a dedicated pinned post where people from the Nelson (and Tasman) region can do a little spiel about themselves in the hopes of finding some friends and/or a date?

I was visiting Nelson recently and wondered if there is the electric Lyft scooters for hire. I didn't see any around.

Has anyone been to this restaurant? I’m looking for a place to host my small birthday party? What’s the food like?

My friend told me the craziest story : we work part time at woolies stacking shelves and we finish past midnight. He had to drop a colleague so took the exit by speights ale around half past midnight. A drunk couple allegedly stopped their car and asked for a lift to stoke. Both him and the colleague decided to ‘help’ the couple but said that the girl was very loud and was being kinda racist to them - her partner repeatedly apologized and well they said she was drunk so maybe didn’t mean much/most of it.
I told them how we’ve all been there - drunk enough to not be in our senses so chuck it 😅
Genuine question though - does fringe racism exist in Nelson !? Share experiences please.
Also - to the drunk couple - if you’re reading this be and stay safe guys 😅😝

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction.
I'm looking for a group home or supported residential service in the Nelson area, although the family would ideally prefer Richmond if possible.
The person is an adult woman with a physical disability and mental illness, but does not have an intellectual disability. She's currently living in Christchurch but wants to move back to the Nelson/Richmond area to be closer to family. Unfortunately, while her family wants to support her, they're unable to provide the level of care she needs.
SupportWorks has told me that I need to find potential facilities myself, so I'm reaching out to see if anyone knows of any suitable group homes or supported living providers that may have vacancies or accept referrals.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi 👋
I am due to be staying at this holiday park out of Nelson over the Christmas break for around 2 weeks with family.
I would love to know any tips or tricks or advice as I will be camping in a tent and while I have done this before I just haven’t been to this area and just looking to see if anyone has any useful information regarding the holiday park and/or the area in general.
Anything is appreciated 🙂

Kia ora,
I know it can sometimes be a bit of a mission to lock down a crew for the weekend or meet new mates as an adult.
To make it easier to get offline and connect, I’ve been working on a project called r/KiwiHangout. It runs on a global interactive hangout map, but I've set up this dedicated space specifically for NZ to help people find locals with similar interests, and I'm really hoping to get some activity going in Nelson.
You can just drop a general pin on the map to show you're keen to hang out, or you can easily host a casual meetup. If you want to organize a quick coffee, a walk, or a pub catch-up, you just put the date in your post title (like (04/07)) and select the local flair. The map automatically reads it and drops a live event pin for people nearby to see.
It’s still brand new and we are looking for some early adopters. If you’re wanting to get out and meet some new folks, come give it a spin and let's get some pins on the board for the city!

Hey everyone! I am quite new here and need some expertise on where everyone finds the best brands of second hand clothing. I feel it's a good way to experiment your style of clothing and find some good options before getting serious about a timely piece. Also feel free to let me know some good shops which have more options for women's clothing.

How many people use the public transport to commute?
Is it clean and tidy? Runs on time?
New to town and would like to try use public transport instead of driving every where. The route I would take regularly is Beachville to Richmond, but curious about opinions around the city.

Would anyone have any pictures of Ngawhatu / St. Mary's Orphanage, bowling club, BBQ or swimming pool before the fires?
Yes. I'm aware there are articles, however this reddit has a lot of great images of Nelson / Tasman that I haven't seen anywhere else.
Thanks in advance!
